《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 027

Silva walked through alley after alley. Any shop owner or employee she saw she asked if there had been any rumors. Most had nothing of interest other than the daily gossip. Others didn’t really want to answer and even though there was an abundance of workers in the area, none of them had any information. It was almost like the rumors she heard were false.

That’s how it goes though. Some rumors were solid and had some kind of weight to them while others were just tall tales. However, she heard the rumors directly from a shadow which did all sorts of jobs for the Agency. It wasn’t something she could take lightly.

She continued down the roads and alleyways looking for anyone who could give any kind of hint as to whether the rumor was true or not. While she was walking down the road she felt something. Like a set of eyes watching her from a distance. Since she needed to be sure of it she continued on and weaved through alleys like she had done before. The feeling never left. Like it was trailing her.

In one of the alleys she ducked into she drew her blade just enough to be able to strike at a moment's notice. The alley was darker than most and was a distance away from a civilian's view so it was perfect for her to attack. She heard a glass breaking behind her so without any hesitation she ripped her blade the rest of the way from her sheath and swung it over her head. In one fluid motion she twisted her body to face her opponent as the blade came down ever her head and on top of them.

however, it never connected with flesh. Instead a red blade she knew very well held her blade away from its owners body. She stared in shock for a moment before drawing her blade back and sliding it into her sheath. Before her stood the Masked man. His white mask practically glowed in the darker alleyway and the red tears that adorned it gave an eerie contrast.

“That’s no way to treat an old friend. You could have cut somebody.” He said.

“Micheal! I’m sorry, I should have known it was you. What are you doing here though?”

“I believe today might be the day that we have to put that plan into action.”

“... I see. Can I tell my husband? I think he deserves to know at this point, same with Compton and Elysif.”

“I understand your reasoning but they cannot know yet. They must carry the burden of your death so that they may see what the Agency really is for themselves. They will not betray the Agency on your words alone, especially if the reasoning behind those words is me.”

“Okay, but I still feel like I am betraying them.”

“Do you remember what I showed you? I will protect them until the time comes and you will be able to enjoy a peaceful life with all of them. You have more than just my word.”

“So tonight is the night I die then?”

“No, you shall die in the morning.”

“Alright, where shall I meet my demise?”

“Leave your home at midnight tonight and meet me in this alley. It is right on the riverfront not far from here."

"..."

"Are you wondering if the rumor I told you is true or not? If so then yes, the rumors are true. Werewolves are bringing people here as slaves but they don’t make it off the ships alive.”

“What does that mean?”

“They are sacrifices for the one who will kill you.”

With that the Masked man walked off and disappeared as if he was never there after turning out of the alley. Silva stood there for a moment before clutching her fists. “Sorry Scott. I really wished this could have lasted longer but I need to do this for everyone's sake.” She said to herself before walking towards the building Scott had pointed to earlier.

Scott was already waiting there and looking like he was conducting some kind of shady business. He was leaned up against the building, eyeing everyone he saw and had a scowl on his face. SHe walked up towards him and as soon as she did his face perked up like a dog the moment you would open the door when coming home.

“Let me guess, you didn’t find the restaurant?” Silva said, trying to seem like everything was normal. She wanted to at least enjoy her time with him before tomorrow.

“No, I found it. However, I didn’t find anything about a slave market around here. Not even the shadier people that live near here nor the homeless know anything about it.”

“That’s surprising, but I didn’t find anything either. It may just be a baseless rumor. We’ll have to talk to that shadow about where they received their information.”

“Ya, but I’m glad it was nothing in the end. You know better than me that werewolves act as a unit so if we fought a few of them we could end up having to fight half of the city's werewolves.”

“Anyways, let’s eat. I’m starving.”

“Agreed.”

“I wonder how Elysif is doing with Dolfly’s medical training?”

“Apparently, well. Dolfly has told me plenty of times how good she is at understanding medical science. He also has told me she has done tremendously well at advanced witchcraft.”

“Well, she was raised from birth by very powerful witches. Too bad they were killing people.”

“Sadly. Do you want to just get some food to go for Elysif and we all have a picnic?”

“That sounds wonderful.” She said before giving a kiss on the cheek.
