"I'm gonna be the first one to say it. Your powers are bullshit!" I said.
"Said the man who is slowly pulling his body back together after having his guts ripped out and his neck snapped, twice." Scott replied.
"And who caused that to happen?"
"Ya, sorry about that. I lost complete control for a second."
"I wouldn't say that was just a second. I almost died and you could have killed Elysif."
"I'm not saying it was okay."
"Boy's, boy's, nobody died so let's leave it at that. Each of you need to drink these." Elysif said, putting a vial in each of our hands.
"Thanks, how are we going to drink these? Neither of us can really move." I asked.
"You two can figure that out. I'm going to get some booze for Scott before his runes start acting up more." Elysif said before getting up and leaving the building.
"So why did you just fake your death? Didn't you want to die as retribution?" I asked.
"I did but I guess I'm still not ready to die. I figured since the kid thought I died I might as well play the part. He can believe I'm dead for as long as he needs to."
"But how does that help you?"
"You don't get it do you? He can finally let go and come to terms with it all. I on the other hand have to continue dealing with my regrets and mistakes."
"Sorry, I guess I should try and learn from this."
"Damn right you should, now if you'll excuse me I'm about to be in a lot of pain." Scott said before his body began to convulse. I tried to move but only my upper body could. My lower body was still reconstructing itself because my organs hadn't pulled themselves inside yet.

“Scott!”
“Damnit!” I heard Elysif yell as she burst through the door carrying a bottle. She ran up to Scott and rolled him on his side where he began to throw up. Once he stopped convulsing she rolled him onto his back again and made him take sips from the bottle. He almost spat it out upon it touching his lips so Elysif held the bottle in such a way that he had to drink it eventually. He gave in within a few moments and started chugging it. Then once around half of the contents were gone she pulled it back. He gasped as she did, followed by a slow groan.
“That has got to be the worst alcohol I have ever tasted. What is it?” Scott said.
“Pickle vodka.” she replied.
“Why?”
“Because it’s what I could find and plus, it smells like it could clean wounds.”
“It probably could but... why?”
“Don’t whine or else I’ll make it hurt worse.”
“There is no way you could make this hurt worse.” Scott replied, gesturing at his body with his eyes.
While all of that was going on I was able to drink the contents of the vials. They kind of tasted like gummy candy. It seems that they were some kind of painkillers and man did they work. It had to have been illegal in modern day, whatever it was. Anyways my body had almost completely healed itself and I could probably walk now but I was in way too comfortable of a position to get up.
“So what now?” I asked.
“We wait until Scott can get up and we go home I guess.” Elysif said.
“No, you two can go home. I still have one stop to make.” Scott butted in.
“Oh, no you don’t. You need to go home and get some rest. Doctors orders.”
“I’ll make the stop for you. I am almost healed up.” I said.
“Fine, I’ll tell you where to go and you’ll need to take the flower I have in my bag.” Scott reluctantly agreed.
“Okay.”
