《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 040

After getting the worst form of directions ever, I left with the flower. Scott's directions were based entirely on landmarks with no use for street names and he only gave descriptions of the landmarks rather than giving their names. I swear he was trying to get me lost on purpose.
It was probably around one in the morning that I finally made it to the northern outskirts of London. A small cemetery was there with a few trees planted around it. The trees were white willows and kind of gave me flashbacks but they formed a grove around the cemetery in a beautiful way during the day. However, at night it looked like something out of a horror movie.
I walked beyond the veil of willow branches into the heart of the cemetery and after a longer period of time than I would have liked I found it, Silva's grave. It was rather plain only reading: Silva Rebecca Langston 1853 - 1883.
I set the flower down in front of the gravestone and sat criss cross in front of it. "Hi, Silva. My name is Lou. We haven't met but I'm friends with Scott. I… Well… I'm doing Scott a favor and I thought I could pay my respects. Scott isn't doing so well and, well, everyone is worried about him."
"Well, isn't that sweet." I heard from behind me. I turned around to see a woman who was sitting on top of a small mausoleum. She looked happy but sorrowful at the same time.
"Who are you exactly?"
"It makes sense that you wouldn't know who I am. To clarify, you are sitting in front of my gravestone."
"Are you the ghost of Silva then?"
"In a way, yes, and no."
"I don't quite understand so let me ask you. Why haven't you talked to Scott? He's slowly killing himself and none of us know how to help him."

"Right off the bat you went for the heart. I wish I could speak with him now but it isn't time yet. For this all to work out properly I need to remain dead."
"So does that mean you aren't a ghost at all? You just faked your death and let everyone else suffer."
"Sadly… But this wasn't my plan."
"Then whose is it? Because I don't believe hurting the people we care about is an okay means to an end."
"I would agree but not with this. The masked man made this plan long ago and I must adhere to it."
"Isn't he evil? Why would you follow a maniac like that? I mean he's wearing a creepy ass mask. That's definitely a red flag."
"He isn't what everyone says he is. He is not the enemy."
"Then who is?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
"I don't need your cryptic bullshit. You are coming back with me and you and Scott are going to talk about this." I said standing up and grabbing her by the wrist.
"Again, this isn't the right time." She said with a hint of annoyance in her voice.
"Then why come here? Why talk to me?"
"...”
“Let me guess, you were hoping that Scott would come here today like he always does?”
“...”
“I’ll take that as a yes. Anyways, you’re coming with me and having a little heart to heart with Scott.”
“I can’t!” she shouted.
“Why not?” I shouted back.
“Because… I don’t want him to think I betrayed him. He’ll probably hate me.”
“Ya, he probably will! However that doesn’t change the fact that you two need to work this out. I don’t give two shit’s about this plan or what may be at stake, if there even is anything at stake. I don’t have the time or the patience for this kind of drama so get over it.”
“Not yet!” she said as she punched me in the face. Her attack sent me flying back against her gravestone. Next all I saw were stars and the familiar face of Tim floating above me.

All the while, there are whispers of a greater and more ancient power coming to life. A power Brenn’s wife knows more about than she wants to let on. It’s a good thing Brenn is used to fighting. CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.

Lost souls, will be rewritten soon. (Old version)
In a world where mages stand above the peasants, the nobles, and the law, it is not surprising that everyone wants to learn magic. Five siblings from a village in the middle of nowhere felt the same. Unfortunately, a dragon brought ruin to their home, eventually cornering the five blood brothers. Luz, the eldest brother, ignored the warnings of his ancestors for the sake of their survival. Using an ancient teleportation spell, he and his siblings were sucked into a portal leading to God-knows-where. In a foreign place far from home, Luz carries the burden of disobeying his ancestors and losing his younger brothers. He sets off to reunite his siblings and slay the dragon that destroyed their village while only being equipped with one useless space spell that drains all his mana after one usage. Author's note: English isn't my first language and this is the first novel I tried writing, which is why some of the earlier chapters aren't that good, even though I grew better over time. I'm still in the phase of editing a lot of my earlier chapters. But unfortunately, I haven't yet found any time for it. Daily updates are to be expected till we reach chapter 100. If your comment motivates me, I might upload up to five chapters.^^
