《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 041

“Tim?” I said to the demon-like child floating above me in what I assumed was a toga.
“Yes.” Tim replied.
“Why am I here?”
“Are you trying to be metaphorical or are you being literal?”
“Literal. Why am I in your world right now?”
“Oh, I needed to make sure that nothing that could cause a paradox happens.” Tim said as they floated away from me.
“What would cause a paradox?”
“You remember when you traveled to the future to get information about Jack the Ripper?”
“Yes…”
“Well now is that time. Scott is currently sitting in the apartment talking to your past self. It just happened to work well since that lady knocked you out a few minutes ago.”
“I see. Could you maybe help me get back to the apartment after I wake up then?” I asked as I sat up and looked at the child-demon-god-entity. I don’t know what it is.
“You can walk can’t you?”
“I can but I would rather just teleport like I did when I escaped the Ripper.”
“Fair enough, and it isn’t teleporting. You’re time traveling to a different spot.”
“So... Teleporting?”
“Sure, whatever. Wanna play a game?”
“I have time. What do you want to play?”
“Backgammon!”
“Fuck!” I shouted as a board appeared in front of me. Tim sat down on the opposite side of the board and pulled a bag of crisps out.
“Where did you get those?”
“I exist in every part of time so I can do whatever I want. Want some?”
“Hell yea. do you have any gummy candy?” I asked eagerly.
“Sure.” Time replied as a bag of gummy worms fell beside me. I was in heaven!

We played for a good hour before I lost, badly. I then woke up in front of the apartment. I went inside and quickly went to bed. Despite sleeping while in the world of stars I still felt tired since I technically only slept for an hour. I wanted to tell Scott about Silva but I figured it could wait until morning.
The next morning I found Scott already awake on the couch. He was covered in bandages and his arm was back in it’s sling. He looked at me as I walked in and sat up with a groan. I grabbed the loaf of bread and cut a slice off in which I put some beans from a can on it. As I ate my impromptu breakfast I could tell Scott wanted to say something.
“So what’s up?” I asked.
“... I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I lost control and nearly killed you.”
“Do you see my body? I'm fine and you shouldn’t worry about it.”
“Okay. Could you get me some of that beans and toast as well?”
“Sure… I actually wanted to tell you something.”
“Oh, what’s that?” he asked as I handed him the bean toast and sat beside him.
“I met Silva. It seems she faked her death and is currently working with the masked man.” I said. As I did the beans and toast I gave him fell to the floor and I was punched in the face. Because both of us were sitting it didn’t have much force but it still hurt.
“Don’t you dare joke about that kind of thing!” he said. I could almost see some tears beginning to form in his eyes. I guess Silva was right. He would definitely hate her if he believed it.

“I’m sorry, I guess I felt a little bit of resentment for you ripping my guts out.” I said.
“I understand but that’s crossing the line. Don’t ever joke about that again.”
“Okay, got it.”
“On a different note, your past self showed up last night. I gave him the rundown of what happened but didn’t say much else. I was afraid that I might say something that could alter history for the worst.”
“I already knew that. I can’t be conscious while they are here so I was sent to the world of stars last night without my consent. I’m glad that you only told him the minimum though. It was probably for the best.”
