《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Not Forgotten - Part 044

“So what can you tell me?” I asked the detective.
“I was actually hoping that you would know the answer to that.” he replied.
“Hey, Scott’s currently recovering, Elysif is possibly experiencing post traumatic stress, and I know about as much as you do.”
“You suck at doing your job.”
“Anyways, what can you tell me about the body and the crime scene?”
“A young man was killed and stuffed in a box before his arm was chopped off and used as a paintbrush to make that heathen circle. This was done at least three days ago but no more than seven days ago.”
“Okay, tell me something I don’t know.”
“You’re both a bitch and an idiot.”
“You are the second person to call me a bitch today and I don’t like it.”
“Maybe you should be considering why more than one person has called you that then. Now I’ll be doing my job. Could you at least pretend to do yours?” The detective said as he walked away.
“Well it’s going to be hard when we basically have no leads?” I asked as I followed him.
“What is this We business?”
“I have to find these other two magic circles and look for evidence. Could you possibly send a small amount of people to one of them while I take the other one?”
“Fine, I’ll send a few of my men to go check out the one in Islington. I’ll also have everyone of them looking out for these across London.” he said with a tired and exasperated sigh.
“thanks, remind me to buy you a drink later.”
“At least you’re nicer than Scott in that regard. Bloody bastard won’t even offer me a drink. Never has in his whole career. You offer it to me on our second meeting like it’s nothing.”

“Well I guess I care more than he does.”
“Whatever you want to tell yourself. Just let me know if there's anything that you need. I would rather there not be another murderer on the loose.”
“Agreed. I’ll let you know if anything comes up and if your men find anything at the other circle please let me know.”
“Of course.” He replied as I headed off.
I started off towards Ratcliff in a hurry. The apartment was on the way so I ended up picking up some rum for Scott. Upon my arrival he looked the rum up and down then gave me an unamused look.
“What?”
“Wrong brand.”
“What do you mean?” I asked as I lifted up one of the many empty bottles lying on the ground. They looked exactly the same to me.
“Look on the back.”
“Spiced rum with persimmons and clove.”
“Now look at this one.”
“Spiced rum with a secret family blend.”
“But they say the same thing on the front and even have the same name.”
“But it’s a different brand.”
“Just deal with it. Anyways, Paddington had a circle and a dead body stuffed into a crate. The body was missing an arm and the circle itself looked like this.” I said handing him the sketch I had made.
“So it is her. Where are the other two circles again?”
“One’s in Ratcliff and the other is in Islington.”
“I see.” he said, grabbing a map from among the many things on his desk and laying it out.
“Do you think you know where the others are?”
“Perhaps, if you had one in Paddington, Ratcliff, and Islington then there should be one near or in Nunhead and another south of Battersea.” he said drawing it on the map to form a star.

“Oh great, the cliche magic star.”
“It’s cliche for a reason. Because it’s correct. There may also be several hundred runes inside of these points as well as curse guards. I don’t know as much about Witchcraft so I’m just going off of what I know. Elysif probably could give us more details but she has yet to wake up.” he said with a sigh.

The Garbage Man
2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.

Winter Fire [ Book 1 ] ✔
On the second jump, Claire's bad leg gave way and she felt herself tumbling forward. A cry of surprise escaped her and Claire was certain she was about to topple off the side of the train. Alek, however, moved quickly, catching her mid-fall and keeping her upright, and alive. Claire lifted her eyes to meet his which were wide with alarm. The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest. "I promise."------1st Place in the Chaos Awards2nd Place in the Mystic Awards2nd Place in the Stella Luna Awards2nd Place in the Talent Awards 2018Highest Ranking #1 In SteampunkFound on the official Wattpad Fantasy account featured reading list "Wintery Worlds"
