《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Witch Trials - Part 001

Elysif walked slowly through the streets of London carrying a small satchel. The darkness around her clouded the path she walked. A few drunks wandered the streets but didn’t pay her much attention. The cold cobblestone and dirt streets dampened her shoes as she walked causing her feet to feel cold inside of them. All she could do though was walk towards her destination faster in hopes of warming them.
“I should have grabbed more than this when I left. It’s freezing!” she said to herself as she walked.
The moon glowed above her as she continued on as if it was peaking on her and her mortal whims. No matter what the sense of dread she felt never went away as she walked. She couldn’t help it. She knew what laid ahead for her. The one person she feared the most. There was no such thing as normal fears for her but that woman was a demon who only cared for her own gain. The epitome of an evil witch.
“Maybe I should have told them I was leaving? Or at least where I was going? No. They would have only stopped me and I need to do this. She should have just stayed in hiding. Then I could have had my peaceful life without anyone leaving me.”
As she said this she began looking through alleys. She was in Nunhead and had assumed that there would be a circle here that the police haven’t found yet. Then she heard it. A small but obvious scream. She ran towards it as fast as she could. She kept looking through the alleys where she heard it coming from but there was nothing.
“Maybe it was just my imagination? Maybe a drunk or something?” she said.
She had been glad it was nothing but was still warry. The fact that she hadn’t seen a circle anywhere near here concerned her. It wasn’t that big of an area. She thought about heading back since she hadn’t found anything but decided to keep looking. Missing an area wasn’t that hard to do.

Weaving back and forth between buildings she systematically went through every alleyway. She knew her mother wouldn’t want the circle within a barrier such as a building and would want to stay out of sight so the alleyways worked great. Then she saw it.
The circle being drawn in blood as she walked into one of the alleys. A dead body of an older man who was missing an arm was lying on the ground below it. The one who was painting the circle using the old man’s arm wasn’t her mother though but a young girl around six years old.
Elysif pulled a dagger out of her satchel and walked closer to the child. She was so taken in by her own painting that she didn’t even realize Elysif walking behind her. Steadily raising the dagger. She was within a meter of the girl when she finished the circle and turned around. Elysif being right in front of her Scared her a little, causing her to jump back in shock. The dagger being drawn didn’t help either.
“Who are you?” the young girl cried as she held her arms above her head out of fear.
Elysif was taken aback. She didn’t expect this child who had just killed an old man would be scared of her. She wasn’t exactly sure of what she needed to do. She was just a kid so maybe she was being manipulated. She wouldn’t put it past her mother.
“Where did you learn about that circle, girl?” Elysif asked angrily.
“F-from…” she stammered.
“From who?”
“From Mama.” she replied with a devilish smile. Suddenly spikes made of blood shot out at Elysif from the child. Elysif dodged a few of the needles but a few impaled her. The little girl laughed for a moment.

“You look just like Mama, only she’s a bit bigger than you.”
“And just who is your mama?” Elysif asked as she held the spots on her body where she had been impaled with her free hand.
“Mama is mama and mama said I can’t leave anyone who sees me alive.” she said as she twisted her fingers. Elysif screamed as her body began to writhe. The girl was controlling the blood that had gotten inside of Elysif’s body.
“S-sorry but no.” Elysif said as she returned to normal. The blood which had entered her body slowly fell out of the holes they made like worms.
“What did you do?”
“Rejected them. Now let me show you something.” Elysif said as she snapped her fingers. The blood that had dripped from her wounds started to float around in the air. Then with another snap of Elysif’s fingers they shot at the girl. Wrapping around her wrists like cuffs and pulling her against the wall.
“Now I have no plans of killing children so tell me where your Mama is?”
“You can use Mama’s magic? Who are you?” the child said with a terrified look.
“I’m your older sister.”

He reached a hand down to help her up, but Mabel swatted it away, standing on her own and scowling. "Don't call me 'Little One,' Death."
