“You’re my big sister?” The child said with confusion written all over their face. She obviously didn’t understand how she could have an older sister or why her sister was stopping her. To be frank, she looked scared.

“Yes, I’m your big sister and I’m looking for Mama. can you take me to her?” Elysif said in a loving tone.

“Umm… Mama said not to come home until I was done.”

“Well, I can tell her it’s my fault you didn’t finish. I just need to see Mama as soon as possible.”

“Maybe, but you have to let me go.”

“I’ll let you go but first.” Elysif said as she pulled a small bit of blood from her wound and pressed it against the child’s forehead. The mark of blood began to turn a shade of blue as it caught fire and went out within a second. Like a flash of blue flame before it morphed itself into the shape of a worm with an X through it.

“What did you do?”

“Blocked the ability to control your blood magic. Now you can’t attack me.” she replied as she released the blood bindings from her wrists.

“But only Mama can do that! How can you do it?”

“Mama hasn’t taught you much yet. I envy you, but it’s obvious she already forced you to awaken the curse.” she said solemnly.

“What curse?” the child asked quizzically.

“It’s nothing. By the way what’s your name?”

“Rebeccah Avian.”

“Well I’m Elysif Avian.”

Rebeccah smiled and grabbed Elysif’s hand before leading her along the cobblestone and dirt streets of London. The moon was shining above them as they walked. The sense of dread still ate at Elysif as she walked especially with a child who was very capable of murder walking beside her.

I ran back inside of the apartment building after Scott had left. I knew he wouldn’t approve of what I was about to do but even he would agree that I had good reasoning. I attempted to pick the lock on Elysif’s door but to no avail. I knew nothing about picking locks and was probably just wasting my time. So instead I walked away from the door and charged at it. The door burst off its hinges with a crash and destroyed her table.

I was laying on top of the door in the middle of her living room. Vials and different liquid lay on the floor around me from where they were on the table beforehand. She is definitely going to kill me when she sees this. I’ll worry about that later though. For now I had to find the compass. I may not know how to use it but I’m pretty sure That Iscarat did. Just needed to find the damn thing.

Though between the mess I just made and Elysif’s style of organization I wouldn’t be surprised if she had just thrown it somewhere without a second thought. I began searching all around her apartment for it only to find nothing. There were no known organizational skills used in this place or at the very least none that I knew of. I even found some of her unmentionables among her kitchen utensils Which I took so I could use it in the compass. Probably shouldn’t tell her about that.

Among a small pile of tea leaves that were dried though, I found it. Perhaps, I’m not entirely sure if it was the same compass but it looked like it and I wasn’t going to go through any more of her stuff. Then I realized it would probably be a good idea to fix the door before I left.

Sadly, I had no clue how I was going to fix this door without some new hinges so I just leaned the door up in a way that looked like it was shut. She won’t notice, right? No, she’ll notice the moment she tries to enter her home.

Thus I left the building and headed straight for Iscarat’s place. He would be able to activate this compass for me. Maybe he’ll even join me in finding her. Though this whole thing was confusing to me. No one's actions seemed to make sense. Was this woman really dangerous enough to make Scott ride the train of his own volition and cause Elysif to run away? What could she be doing?

All I could do was find her and ask her when then. I’ll leave all the technical stuff to Scott for now. Maybe Mama Louise could shed some light on this too? She would have to know what happened with Elysif’s mother, especially with her networks on the streets.

“Why am I always the odd one out? Everyone else is capable or knows what’s going on and I’m just the outlier. I guess this is all I can do for now.” I said to myself as I ran.
