Compton and the other agents looked beaten down. Many of them had saddened expressions on their faces. I’m not that surprised though. Out of the ten agents there were only four left. They were friends and now they would have to bury them. It didn’t take much to understand their pain.

“We should probably go to the apartment and figure out a new plan.” Compton said.

“A new plan? That woman could have slaughtered us easily had she not been more focused on escaping with her daughter. On top of that, it wasn’t even her real body. Her real body came here and killed Mama Louise without any resistance. How can we plan against that?” Collin said.

“We don’t have the liberty to think that way right now. We have to stop her for the sake of everyone. Whether we die or not doing so is not something we should worry about.” Compton replied.

“What exactly are we trying to stop her from doing? Because depending on what it is then I don’t think I want to be involved.” Ida said with a slight german accent from behind collin.

“There is a spell using blood magic that can bring a person back from the dead permanently. As far as we know it is incomplete and could backfire.” Compton said. Ida perked up at the sound of this.

“So we are trying to stop it in order to prevent it from backfiring?” a tall and lanky agent asked.

“No, Aaron. The backfire would be relatively small. What we are trying to stop is the spell itself. The price for bringing back the dead is the lives of others and the more powerful the person she is trying to bring back, the more lives it needs to fuel it. All of the barriers she set up are to make sure her spell doesn’t become erratic. As such, the one she is trying to bring back will most likely cost the lives of everyone within her barrier.” Scott stated.

“Who exactly is she trying to bring back?” the only other agent alive asked. His bottom left half of his face was burned and he also seemed shorter than the others. I didn’t think I paid much attention to the agents but I would have remembered him.

“She is trying to bring back the Masked Man, John. however, I don’t think she realizes that he is still alive. Anyways, we need to move. We can answer any question you may have at the apartment.” Compton stated.

The agents all nodded reluctantly and began to head to the apartment. Iscarat just stood there, fiddling with the magic prison so I grabbed his collar and started to pull him. He quickly started walking with us on his own. As we were walking Ida and Collin got beside me. They kept swapping glances between themselves and I. It seemed like they had taken an interest in me.

“What do you two want?” I asked.

“We’re just curious. You’re not a sorcerer or a witch yet you can teleport, and easily at that. To top it off you were picked to fight alongside Mordred and Compton against Medea. You seem like a prodigy almost.” Collin said with a tinge of anger in his voice.

“I was only chosen to fight with them because Scott is injured enough to not be able to fight. Also what I do isn’t teleporting, I am traveling through time.” I replied. Both of them looked at me in disbelief.

“I don’t believe you. Time travel isn’t real.” Ida said.

“Neither is magic and monsters yet here we are.” I said.

“... So is it some kind of magic?” Collin asked.

“I’m not sure. I woke up in 1888 with the ability to time travel and after meeting Scott I joined the Agency.”

“Does that mean you are from another time period?” Ida asked.

“Yes, I’m from the twenty-first century.”

“That’s amazing! What’s it like?” Ida asked with a slight glimmer in her eyes.

“Futuristic?.... I don’t know what to tell you.” I said unconvincingly.

“That’s not what I meant.” she started to yell. Collin gave her a look that made her somewhat calm down though. Were these two a thing or what?”
