《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Witch Trials - Part 028

Back at the apartment, Iscarat continued messing with the magic prison. Aaron, Ida, Collin, and John decided to all take naps while Compton, Scott, and I discussed a new plan of action. However, we were unable to come up with anything that would work, even on paper.
“What are we going to do? Nothing we think of could actually work.” Scott said angrily before taking a swig from his flask.
“Well, as soon as Iscarat gets Mordred out of that box maybe she'll have an idea." I replied.
"Remember we don't have much time. We shouldn't even be standing around here. If Mordred isn't out of there soon then we'll have to make a plan and go with it without her." Compton said.
"I believe we have more time than you think. Elysif will not give in that easily and Medea can't control her body like she can others. Additionally she can't force someone to use magic. It's just impossible. As such we will probably have a few days at most to plan and regroup." Scott said before taking another swigg of booze. Only to realize his flask was empty so he began looking for a bottle that may have some left in it.
"That may be true but we still need a decent plan or we're basically digging our own graves." Compton said as he picked up a half full bottle of rum and handed it to Scott.
"What about using me as a shield? My limbs can grow back so if I am infected I could just cut off the limb and continue fighting." I suggested. They both looked at me for a moment then at each other.
"It could work but as we already witnessed. She can control the blood itself so your limbs would just become part of her armory." Compton said as he rubbed his chin.

"True, and her range is quite far. Mordred has already been infected and we don't know the limits of her power. She may just force Mordred to kill us for her." Scott said as he began filling his flask.
“That does raise the question of whether or not we should let Mordred out.” Compton replied as we all looked at Iscarat who was still fiddling away with the magic prison.
“So should we stop him or let him continue?” I asked.
“I’m personally surprised he hasn’t opened it yet. He designed and made every single magic cell so it shouldn’t be taking him this long.” Scott said.
“Could he be locking it instead? He does hate Mordred.” I replied. Both Scott and Compton looked at each other in realization. They quickly shot up[ and charged at Iscarat. But as soon as they did Mordred appeared in front of them. Unable to stop, they ended up tackling her to the ground.
“Get off of me you bastards!” she yelled. They got off of her as quickly as they could and stepped away from her in a hurry.
“Welcome back.” I said.
“Thanks for not killing me… or getting killed by me. By the way, that was the most painful experience I have ever had.” Mordred said.
“You’re welcome.” I replied.
“Where is Elysif and that other girl?” she asked. We all looked down solemnly. Not wanting to say that they got away. Mordred saw our reaction and in a small fit of rage kicked the couch over. How do people keep kicking that thing over? It weighs more than me!
“Do we know where they went?” Mordred asked, fuming.
“I do.” I replied.
“How exactly do you know where they went?”

“I went to Mama Louise’s using my time travel abilities but I was too late. She took Elysif and killed Mama Louise. However, I was able to learn about where they went from a few people I talked to.” I said. Mordred looked at me like I was an odd piece of art that she was trying to figure out.
“You and I need to talk outside.” she said before heading for the door.
“...”
“Now!” she yelled. I followed behind her quickly. Scott, Compton, and even Iscarat all looked scared for me. When we got downstairs she led me to the front door and then turned to face me.
“Who told you where to find them?” she asked.
“I told you I got it from some people who were passing.” I responded. Next thing I knew her sword was pressed against my throat.
“I can tell when a person is lying. I’ve lived long enough to figure it out so tell me who your informant is or else.” she threatened.
“... I can’t say.”
“It’s Silva isn’t it?” I shot her a look of disbelief.
“I’m guessing that’s a yes.” she said as she removed the sword from my throat.

Myth Of Men
Gaming isn't a way of life. With reality reduced to rubble and ash after a nuclear war, these fictional worlds of entertainment now serve as reality to many survivors. And, amidst all the addicts and try-hards, one person rises to the top with ease. Known as Hiiro, Henry Johnson is infamous for quickly dominating every game that hits the market, and departing from them even more quickly. It's no surprise when he's offered a chance to beta the world's first VRMMORPg: The Myth of Men. But is there something sinister hidden underneath the facade of what promises to be a fun game? Please note: the below is true, but due to my continued haitus, it's on the failed pledge list as of now with my other series. This fiction is signed under the 'The Pledge'... Some internet message in a forum about not dropping or giving a rushed ending in their fiction, otherwise meet the wrath of letting RRL mod Vocaloid have 'fun' with the fiction's description. So mainly for the sake of my fiction due to said wrath, I'll see this fiction through. Credit for winRoot for doing my commissions. Mature language: 15+... His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.
