“Are you sure that was a good idea?” Compton asked Mordred as they walked to the train station.
“Not at all but I’m glad that we didn’t have to resort to plan B and fight her. This way we can get reinforcements and keep the people of London safe.” Mordred replied with a sigh.
“Agreed. However, do you believe that Lou will fare well with her while we are getting things ready?” Compton asked with a melancholy face.
“I believe that he may seek death after this.” Mordred said without any emotions behind her words.
“That’s reassuring.” Compton replied with a concerned look.

I walked past Medea to see a small kitchen and dining room area. To my left was a bedroom with two beds in it and to my right a room with a fireplace and a few chairs in it. Elysif was sitting in one of the chairs near the fireplace sleeping. Thank God she was alright. I looked back at Medea who had just shut the door and was walking towards me.
“Don’t be shy. I don’t bite.” she said seductively.
“Yes, I believe you do.” I replied.
“Only if I feel threatened, so I would suggest handing over your weapons.” she said back.
“Understandable.” I said as I pulled out my pistol and handed it to her. She smiled as she took the revolver. Examining it for a moment, she cracked the top, releasing all of the bullets from the cylinder. Medea then chucked it behind her and it snapped into a hundred different pieces as if cut by invisible blades before hitting the floor. I stared at her unsurprised as she held out her hand again.
“What?”
“Don’t think of me as a fool. I know you have other weapons.” she said extending her hand even more.

“You’re smarter than you look.” I replied as I pulled my dagger out from under my coat. She took it and looked it over before shooting me a look of hatred.
“Where did you get this?” she asked with an aggressive tone.
“I was given it by Scott and I had Iscarat put the runes on it.” I replied truthfully.
“That’s bullshit!” she said as a small trail of blood slammed me against the wall.
“I told you the truth. Does it remind you of something?” I asked after groaning from the pain of being slammed into the wall.
“My master had one similar to this. However, my memory may be hazy from fifteen hundred years.” she said as she released me from the wall. Her face almost looked sad.
“What kind of person was your master?” I asked.
“He was a kind man who was loved by everyone in the courts of Camelot. Despite being a foreigner and no one ever seeing his face he was widely accepted.he taught me to read and write as well as use magic. Never once did he act prideful or resentful of anyone and even became friends with the king.” she explained as she sat down at the dining room table.
“Then why does everyone think he killed king Arthur?” I asked.
“He did not kill the king. He was framed and since no one could prove it wasn’t him he was hunted. Though no one found him and I was taken as an accomplice, set to be executed before I escaped.”
“Do you have any idea who could have framed him?”
“No, I have looked into it for years but found nothing. Every so often I would hear rumors of him attacking the Agency or their past groups but I would usually blow it off as someone who was pretending to be him. Unlike me, he wasn’t blessed by the Elder Ones gifts so he could never live this long. Strangely though, he would always leave a battlefield unharmed.” she said.

“Just how strong was he then?”
“He once cut down an entire militia in less than an hour by himself and defended a village from their attack.”
“That sounds impressive.”
“It was impressive and it is what made him a knight of the round table. He was given a sword forged by the Lady of the Lake Vivian or better known as the Norse Elder One Freya. The sword was imbued with magic that granted him special armor and allowed him to absorb magic upon touching it.”
“You may not believe me but I think I may have seen your master.”
“Where?” she asked

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
