《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Witch Trials - Part 035

“He sort of saved me, possibly twice. Once after I was attacked by a changeling and another time from someone pretending to be him.” I explained. She pondered this for a moment before looking back at me.
“What did his mask look like?” Medea asked.
“It was white with a diagonal black line through it and a stream of red from under each eyehole.” I replied.
“That does sound like his but you understand why I can’t just trust you.” she said.
“I know. I was simply telling you what I knew. I cannot persuade you to stop looking for your master but I can try and offer you what little knowledge I have.” I said with a smirk.
“Just whose side are you on? Because you don’t seem like you’re against me yet you don’t seem against the Agency.”
“I am Scott’s apprentice but I am not on any side. I simply do what I can to be in the right. If that means I have to kill you or destroy the Agency then I’ll do it. However, the Agency has yet to remove themselves from the moral high ground.”
“And if I exposed the Agency as a false saint, then what?”
“I would go with the one who was still more morally correct.”
“I see what you are doing.”
“And what is that?”
“You want me to let my guard down so you can escape with Elysif or possibly kill me.”
“I disagree, I am simply passing the time while we wait for the Agency. I want to know as much as I can about your master and why he is trying to stop the Agency. No one who knows about this has stated why he is fighting the Agency.”

“As far as I know, my master died a long time ago. If he was somehow alive after all this time then everything I have done would have been in vain. That is part of the reason I cannot believe what you have told me. If he was alive however, I would assume that he was trying to expose the one who framed him or possibly kill them.”
“That makes sense.”
“Perhaps the person who told you he was alive and maybe the one who saved you are his students. I wouldn’t be surprised if he took in a few students before he died and tasked them with training others to fight the Agency.”
“That is a possibility, however, the one I talked to told me that she was recruited by your master specifically.”
“I think that may have been to lead you astray.”
“She also told me exactly where to find you.”
“I was wondering how you found me so quickly but I guess I have an answer now.”
I began to say something else when we heard a knock at the door. Medea looked at me as if I was expecting someone but she realized I was just as surprised as her. Thus, she got up and approached the door. Opening it she saw someone she definitely wasn’t expecting, Silva Langston. I could barely see her from where I was as the door was blocking her from view other than her sword. Then Medea swung the door open and rushed her in.
“Silva? What are you doing here?” I asked, not quite understanding why she was here.
“I was told to deliver a letter after you had been taken in by Medea.” Silva said as she handed a letter to Medea. Medea denied it.

“Put it on the table and have this one read it. For all I know you could have poisoned it.” Medea said.
“Trust me when I say that I considered it. However, Micheal says that everything must happen a certain way. In other words, I can’t kill you.” Silva said.
“Go on, read it!” Medea said to me in a tone I had yet to hear her speak in. Almost like an embarrassed or paranoid tone.
I opened the envelope and unfolded the papers inside. It was addressed to Medea with the name Medea Avian. It was very old and tattered papers but it couldn’t have been much more than a year old at least as there was a printing company logo on the corner with the year 1888 on it. It read:
To Medea Avian,
It’s been a while little Swallow. I am sorry for not telling you that I was alive for all this time but I needed things to happen a certain way. This is because...

Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
