《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 024

Arriving at Camelot after nearly four hours of riding I was feeling sore. The knights also seemed sore as well as they had been riding for a lot longer than I had. Although it seemed like they wanted to trust me they were still wary of me. The mask probably didn’t help me in his situation. Due to them being wary I was led into the castle and through many different hallways before finally entering into a large circular room with a giant round table.

“Your weapon please.” one of the knights said as he held out his hand. It probably didn’t even matter so I handed him my knife and the knight stepped away whilst shutting the door. Only Arthur and I remained in the room as far as I could tell.

“You’re probably wondering why I am the only one in here.” Arthur said as he peddled around the table.

“I was wondering about that. Didn't you say you wanted to ask me some questions among your court?” I asked.

“Yes, but first I wanted to talk to you alone. Firstly, you knew about Mordred being my daughter. She told me you knew her or something like that between us dismounting and the two of us talking. How exactly did you know about this when I only learned of it yesterday?” Arthur said.

“I am from the future. Specifically the year 1889 and I worked under Mordred to keep the peace between the creatures of the night and humans.” I stated truthfully. I wouldn’t normally be this up front about it but it seemed like if I lied then I might be killed.

“I see, so my daughter somehow lives so far into the future and she is completing my mission? I feel like you're telling the truth but I can’t seem to figure out how any of that makes sense.” he said.

“It doesn’t sound very realistic does it? Would you like to see Mordred? I have her with me.” I said.

“If you have her with you then we can easily settle this. I will show you proper trust if you can.” Arthur said as he waited for me to show him Mordred.

“Mordred? Can you come out?” I asked the amulet. Arthur gave me a somewhat concerned look as if he was watching a crazy person.

“One second… we’re trying to figure out how to get her out. It also doesn’t help that she is having trouble moving her legs.” I heard Compton say from inside the Amulet.

Arthur was now more curious than concerned as he could also hear Compton speaking from inside the amulet. A few moments later Mordred manifested in the air before me which surprised me as I was barely able to catch her. She was holding her head like it hurt as I held her in my arms.

“Can you walk?” I asked.

“I can’t. You’ll have to set me down.” she said so as she requested I set her in one of the chairs around the round table. At first she seemed to be in a lot of pain but then she turned to see Arthur and her face lit up before she began bawling her eyes out.

“Is that really you Mordred?” Arthur asked as he walked up to her. Rather than answering she hugged him as soon as he was close enough and wouldn’t stop crying like a small child as the two embraced each other.

“I’m so sorry… I wasn’t there for you” she bawled.

“To think I was saying the same thing to you yesterday. We can both be sorry together.” he said as he kept hugging her as she cried. I watched as the two had their little reunion. It felt very heartwarming but at the same time I felt like a third wheel.

“So tell me, what has brought you back to this time?” Arthur asked once Mordred had finally stopped crying.

“Merlin tried to kill us and we were brought here by a little shit of a time God.” I replied.

“Merlin’s alive as well? That’s not surprising. Though why was he trying to kill you?” Arthur asked with a slightly confused look.

“He played me and all of the knights like fools after he kills you and blames this masked freak for the murder. After enough time he was exposed and so he decided that he didn’t need me for his plan so he attempted to kill me and a few others. He failed and now we’re here.” Mordred explained.

“Wait, Merlin kills me?” Arthur said somewhat surprised.

“Yes, we don’t know why though. We also don’t know what his plan is.” I said.
