《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 036

“Well, I’m pretty sure dinner will be starting soon so I’m going to go.” I said before walking over to her. As soon as she got close to her the pendant sucked her inside. I set the old pendant back in my old pants pocket and walked out to the dinning hall. The smell of fire roasted bird and a mix of spiced vegetables infiltrated my nose like a bullet as I walked by the kitchen. Looking through the crack in the ajar kitchen door I saw Medea being scolded by Shera.
She wasn’t really saying much other than that she needed to be more useful. I was going to walk in and say something just as she raised her hand to hit Medea. Medea cowered slightly but didn’t dare move. The door creaked from me pressing on it and Shera looked up to see me with my head peeking in the doorway. She froze in place and slowly lowered her hand before patting Medea on the shoulder.
“Just... get to work.” she said with a concerned tone to Medea. Medea walked off to help bring out some dishes and Shera looked up again to see that I was no longer behind the door. Looking around her she shook her head and walked off to start pouring the wine and beer into pitchers.
“You have become a hovering parent, haven’t you? It’s only been a day or two.” I heard Elysif scold from the pendant with what sounded like jealousy.
"Are you jealous that I'm being a little protective of your mom?" I asked.
"Not at all. I just think that she deserves a little bit of abuse for what she's done." Elysif said with a matter of fact tone.
"You do realize that Mordred was going to do the same thing to me not too long ago and you wanted to stop it. Seems like a double standard." I said.

"That's different. I know you're a good person and that she's a bad person." Elysif replied.
"I guess, but that doesn't mean you can punish her for something she has yet to do. You can punish her later when we see her in the future, okay." I said in a somewhat convincing tone.
"Okay, I guess. You can do whatever you want." She said before I entered the dining hall.
As it was before knights were talking throughout the hall. Laughter echoed everywhere and one of the knights was already drunk. Around thirty of them sat around the table in a joyful haze. The only one who didn't seem happy was Lancelot who had a twig stuck in his hair from where he was thrown into a ditch earlier. He just sat at the edge of the table drinking quietly. As I sat down one of the older knights that I had yet to meet stood up.
He had short white hair, a beer belly, and was covered in scars. Rather than wearing a loose fitted shirt and pants like the rest he was dressed in a loose fitted shirt and a kilt. A dagger adorned each of his hairy calves and an axe was hanging from his side.
"Everyone! Before we eat I would like to say that Arthur is away for the night. In order to show that we still care we have decided to not serve his favorite beer." He said in a Scottish accent that sounded like it was fused with a Welsh accent. Everyone cheered at this and raised their glasses.
"It is a shame we will not be drinking that piss tonight but I know you all are happy about it." The old knight said with a smile before sitting back down.

I looked around and didn't see Mordred anywhere. Surprisingly I didn't see Elijah either. I guess they were both late or off doing their own thing. As I did before I dug into the food and as discreetly as possible I passed food into the pendant. Thankfully no one saw so I continued dropping food into it whenever I could.
"You seem to fit right in." Gwaine said from across the table.
"I don't know about that. I still haven't fought alongside any of you yet." I replied as I slipped a hard boiled egg behind my hand and into the pendant.
"Well, that is the test. Don't worry though. I saw you practicing with Mordred earlier so I think you’ll be fine.” Gwaine said as he tried to figure out where the hard boiled egg I just had went.
“Thanks. When do you think they’ll send us out to the front lines?” I asked as I poured myself a glass of wine. Gwaine rubbed his chin and looked around so I quickly placed the pitcher against the pendant and it was sucked in like the rest.
“Probably sometime in the next month.” Gwaine said as he turned back to face me. He looked a little strange though as he started eyeing the table.
“Is something wrong?” I asked.
“Did one of the maids take the wine pitcher when I wasn’t looking?” Gwaine asked with a very confused look on his face.
“I don’t know. I just had it a second ago.” I said as convincingly as possible as I too began looking around the table for the wine pitcher that I knew was in my pendant.
“I guess I’ll just ask for another.” Gwaine said with a disheartened look before getting up and walking over to one of the maids. As he did the pitcher appeared from the pendant underneath the table. I was barely able to catch it before it slammed against the floor. Setting it down I kicked it across the floor to the end of the table. Thankfully it was empty.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.

Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

The Human Traitor
Nearly two centuries ago, humanity committed a grievous taboo and liberated itself from the Worldrenders, a race of seemingly immortal creatures that dominates two of the three continents. The humans established the seven Foretoken families, swearing to never live in captivity again. In the present day, there is nothing but peace and poverty in Truweld. A poor young woman makes her money from raiding the Worldrenders' plantations. Meanwhile, a genius inventor, a man born from a Foretoken family, idles his days and his talent away. And from the northern mountains, the home of the Worldrenders, a boy with a troubled past marches to the land of the humans. He calls himself a Worldrender and wields their powers. His objective is simple: he will conquer the humans or exterminate them all. This is an epic fantasy story featuring three protagonists, a slew of high fantasy races, and several mysteries at its core. There is a minimum of one chapter (1000 words or more) each week. This story is also being posted on r/HFY.
