《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 039

Medea led me to the end of the hall and down a corridor to the left. Beyond that was four doors with a dead end beyond it. A few benches sat in between the doors for one to wait on. Each of the doors according to Medea was a bath but if they were locked then I would have to wait. It wasn't an issue so I pushed on each door one at a time. The first three we're all locked but the fourth wasn't so I went inside and slid the wooden bolt on the door.

Inside there was a small room about the size of a shower and tub. In which I could put my clothes. Someone else's clothes were folded up neatly in the corner but I just brushed it off. Considering the fact that there were a lot of heavy drinkers at dinner it wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that there was a naked man currently running around the castle. However, I had no idea who would be doing that so I simply removed my clothes and walked in.

"What are you doing in here?" I heard Mordred ask with an embarrassed and somewhat angry tone.

Looking into the stone room with a meter deep and three meter wide stone tub built into the floor I saw the naked body of Mordred. She was sitting in the corner of the tub staring daggers into me as I had walked in.

"I'm taking a bath and this room was the only one that wasn't locked." I replied calmly as I got into the bath and leaned back into a comfortable position.

"I did lock it!" She replied with a very annoyed tone.

"You can ask Medea whether it was locked or not and she'll tell you the same thing. Though, I'm too tired and stressed right now to care whether we bathe together or not." I said in a relaxed tone. The water wasn't hot but it was fairly warm so I didn't have much trouble enjoying it.

"That's not a good enough reason." She rebutted.

"Does it really matter though? Plus, it's better that it's me than someone else. If someone else came in then your secret would be out." I replied with a sigh.

"... I guess that's true. Though how do you know about that? You knew it before we met and I still can't figure out how." She asked.

"You could say I have knowledge of the future. I can't really explain it without causing some issues though." I replied nonchalantly.

"I see… that would make you a fortune teller. Well, if father trusts you then I guess I have to as well." She said in a much more relaxed tone than before.

"Well, thank you for that." I replied as I grabbed a crude looking bar of what looked like soap and began lathering myself with it. It felt oily and abrasive but I didn't care. The feeling of rubbing off all of the dirt on my body was far too satisfying.

“What do you think of Merlin?” I asked once I had finished scrubbing my body with the primitive bar of soap.

“He is a very wise man who truly cares for Arthur and his wife.” She responded quickly.

“Okay, what do you think he desires?” I asked further.

“That's a simple one. He wants world peace.” she replied just as quickly as before.

“World peace?”

“Yes, he’s very open about his desires. He wants to turn the world into a place free of war and needless violence. One where he can spend his days without worrying that his home will be engulfed by the flames of war. If you don’t believe me then you should spend a day or two with him. He may surprise you.” she said.

“Well, I may have too.” I replied as I finished rinsing myself off in the tub and leaned back into a relaxed position.

“Why do you ask? Is something going to happen to him?” she asked suspiciously. Can I tell her the truth? I can try. If it has any affect on the future then the timeline should still continue on as if it never changed. Here goes nothing.

“Merlin is going-” I started to say as a bug landed in my mouth. The bug crawled through the mouth hole in the mask and into my mouth. I began to choke on the bug, much to Mordred’s alarm. In my alert state the mask morphed into the weird tentacle mask I had used to scare Shera. It reached some of its tentacles into the mask and down into my mouth. Grabbing the bug and whipping it out.

“Are you okay?” Mordred asked.

“I’m fine. A bug flew down my throat.” I said.

“Well, what were you going to say?” she asked.

“Oh, Merlin is going to kill your father.” I said. Nothing happened that stopped me from saying it that time. Was the bug just a coincidence? Perhaps.

“That’s stupid. Merlin has no desires to kill Arthur.” Mordred replied with a laugh.

“Okay?”

“However, if you spread that around like a rumor I will find a punishment for you!” she said threateningly before walking past me going to grab her towel. As she did she looked back at me. “I do have another question before I forget. Why do you hide all of that under a thick coat?” she asked with a gesture at my naked body.

“Well, why do you hide all of that under a set of leather and chainmail armor all the time?” I asked with the same gesture as her. She got bright red before continuing to walk out.
