《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》Round Table - Part 049

“You just stop somewhere and Iscarat will use his portals to allow my weapon and Elysif’s blood to create a cage of iron and silver. Her blood has iron in it and my rope is lined with silver. It would have to work.” Compton explained.
“That does sound really dumb and probably will not work. However, it’s worth a shot. It’s not like we can’t just run away if it doesn’t work.” I said.
“You two are both stupid.” Elysif said.
To be honest, I didn’t want to do this. It just happened to be that I was getting rather tired of this forest and any chance to leave early sounded nice. Although, I wasn't in any mood to piss off what basically were gods. The last time I did that I ended up in the past… again.
“Well, I don’t feel like running for a while. Let’s try it.” I said.
“You realize I’m gonna have to be the one to heal you when you get your ass kicked.” Elysif said as I stopped running.
“Well, I can regenerate from any wounds that aren’t instantly fatal.” I said.
“What about the ones that are fatal?” she asked.
“I don’t know. I hope I can though.” I said as the sound of the deer hooves got louder.
All I could think about was the fear of facing these monstrous creatures of legend. I readied myself as did Elysif and Compton. The hoofbeats got louder and louder with every second. Then I saw it, Oberon charging at me with his bow ready to draw. Where was Titania though?
“Ready?” I asked calmly.
“Ready!” they all replied happily.
Once Oberon was within six meters he drew his bow back and fired an arrow at me. I dodged to the right to avoid it but as I did I felt a sharp pain in my left thigh. Looking down, I saw an arrow made of mistletoe sticking out of my leg. Ripping it out with a loud yell, I realized it wasn’t healing. In fact, it was turning several different shades of yellow and green. Looking back where the arrow came from I saw Titania holding her bow with a prideful and overjoyed smile on her face.

“I hit him first, sweetie!” she shouted with glee to Oberon.
“Yes, however, I helped!” Oberon shouted back with a smile as he drew his bow back again.
“What was that arrow?” I yelled out.
“It was a special arrow I made just in case I met my creator. It has the ability to stop time for whatever it impales and is the only thing that can kill the God of Time. I felt it was necessary since you are his current vessel.” Oberon said with a sinister smile.
“So you both have daddy issues?” I said inquisitively.
“Yes.” Oberon said as he released an arrow at me. I dodged it with a turn and just barely dodged the arrow from Titania.
“Can you both explain why you have daddy issues before you kill me?” I asked.
“He created us and abandoned us. We simply want to know why. If We don’t like his answer then We want at least a chance to kill it.” Titania said.
“He created us based on any and all images of God that humans created. Each with our own unique abilities. We did as our worshippers asked and fought wars to spread our ways. This caused us to fight each other and slaughter our own siblings. Only those who stayed in hiding or won the war stayed alive to this day. Those that died passed their abilities to another and they mated, creating monsters and humans of great power. We just want to know why?” Oberon explained emotionally.
“I think Tim’s answer would be for entertainment. He created you all from boredom.” I said. I noticed that this really ticked off Oberon and Titania who were now charging at me from two sides. As soon as they got close though, A wall of silver lined rope and threads of blood surrounded both of them. They both looked equally surprised but not for long.

“Good job. You were able to trap us. However, this would only work on one of our children without a human base form. You see, an Elder One cannot be affected by iron or silver.” Oberon said as he pushed through the barrier they had made. Titania did the same and I realized I was fucked. Without any hesitation I took off running away from them. Both of the Fae rulers were confused by my sudden actions but took off after me after I had sufficiently run out of view.

Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.
