Since I was in the one pool she walked over behind one of the boulders to strip and got into another pool. She let out a loud sigh as she entered the water. I didn’t really care what she did though. I just wanted to relax a bit. You know, getting chased around while fearing for your life constantly is pretty exhausting. On that same note, could I really die? Tim said I could but all of my wounds have healed so what is the limit? How far do I have to go before I die?

“So I hear Arthur has taking a liking to you?” The Lady of the Lake asked.

“I guess so. Although, it was more like certain circumstances forced us both to become partners.” I said.

“That’s usually how it is. My husband doesn’t know what to think of you but Arthur holds you in somewhat high regards so he has gone along with it. If I may ask, what are the circumstances you speak of?” She asked. I wasn’t sure what to say. Should I tell her what was going on? Probably not. However, she could help me if I tell her enough.

“Do you know of the one who created the Elder One’s, the God of Time?” I asked. She got silent for a moment before finally speaking.

“I do…” she said with a bit of resentment.

“What can you tell me about it?” I asked.

“Does it have something to do with your circumstances?” she asked.

“Yes.”

“Then I shall answer. All the gods of legend and myth were created by the God of Time. It created us in the images of those worshipped by humans. We found out though that we were just pawns for its entertainment. We fought each other for territory and power. My siblings were slaughtered at the hands of each other. Hundreds of us fought for thousands of years until there were only a few left. Many survived by going into hiding while others survived because they were just that strong. All of our suffering was the God of Time’s fault. It created us for the purpose of suffering and bloodshed. All so it wouldn’t be bored. Oberon and Titania haven’t accepted that and continually strive to find a way to kill our creator.” she explained.

“Do you also wish to kill the God of Time?” I asked, really hoping she doesn’t find out that I'm Tim’s vessel. Stepped on a landmine right there and I hope I don’t set it off.

“Not really. Although I am angry with my creator, I am also at peace. I am alive so whether I was created to suffer or spill blood doesn’t matter. I will decide my fate and I am happy with my current lifestyle. I get to better my craft as a hobby and spend my days with someone who wishes for nothing but my own happiness. Even if I had a rough start I am happy now. I get to spend my days with others who are happy and care for me so that’s all that really matters to me.” she said.

“I understand. I too am with people who are happy and care for me. Though, I seem to get stuck with bloodshed daily. I owe it to them to make them happy by the end of my journey.” I said as I clutched the pendant.

“Good. Well, you seem to know about the God of Time so I can assume you are an Elder One yourself, or perhaps someone who was passed an ability?” she asked.

“I am not. I do have a friend though who is the daughter of someone who was given such an ability.” I replied.

“I see.”

“What I would like to know is what is Merlin’s end goal? What does he want Arthur to do?” I asked. She got silent again for a moment.

“He seeks what I seek. Peace for the whole world.” she replied.

“What does that entail?” I asked.

“We don’t know. We have searched for the answer to creating peace for so long and yet we have never found an answer. Though we wish to start by forging an alliance between humans and those of us with an Elder One’s origin. All neighbors are the children of the Elder One’s and as such are supposed to be under our protection. Yet they still are hunted by humans and they hunt humans in return. We will stop the violence first. Then we will try and unite humanity.” she said.

“Is that your goal or Merlin’s goal?” I asked.

“Mine. However, he has taken it upon himself to fulfill that goal. To be honest, I’m afraid pursuing this goal will drive him mad. I have strived for this goal far longer than he has and I have felt like giving up more than a few times as I don’t have the heart to do what is necessary to reach it. The ends may justify the means but I am not willing to justify it. He on the other hand is and I am glad that he is. Though I worry for his health and his heart. Just how far will he go before he snaps?” she said with what sounded like a sad tone.

“I’m sorry.” I said earnestly.

“Don’t be. I am just some random person who has decided to speak my mind. Consider it the ramblings of a forgotten god and forget about it.” she said.
