《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 016

The words coming out of Lily’s mouth didn’t seem to make sense. Who took Medea? Where was she taken? Even if I wanted to ask those questions Lily was in a panicked state as if she just narrowly escaped death. Plus, I wasn't too sure as to what was going on.
“Lily, what happened? Who took Medea?” I asked calmly as I knelt down to where we were at eye level.
“Two shadows broke into the fort and were trying to poison the alcohol storage. We went out of hiding because we thought it was some of the knights and they caught us. I was able to break free but they took Medea.” she said once she caught her breath.
“Where did they go?” I asked.
“I don’t know.” she said in a panicked and emotional tone.
“Get inside the pendant and I’ll do what I can to save her.” I replied. Lily did as I requested and disappeared inside the pendant without a word.
“I need someone to finish digging this grave for this man. I have to see Arthur.” I shouted before running to the fort. I ran all the way to the building with the large table where Arthur and a few of the other Round Table knights were.
“You look to be in a hurry. What’s wrong?” Arthur asked.
“Where’s the enemy camp?” I asked in a demanding tone.
“Why do you want to know?” Arthur asked, a bit taken back by my tone.
“Two shadows broke into the fort and have taken my servant hostage. They also poisoned the alcohol.” I stated. At this revelation Gwaine let out a groan and slammed his head into the table.
“Are you going to try and save her?” Arthur asked calmly.

“Of course I am!” I stated, a bit angrily at his question.
“Then you’ll have to do it alone. My men are tired and cannot fight the Saxon camp as they are now. Though since you asked, the enemy camp is a half a day's walk north.” Arthur said.
“Fine then.” I said before walking out the door. Before I could get out the door though my arm was grabbed by Galehuat. I turned to face him and although he couldn’t see it through the mask I was staring daggers into him for stopping me.
“I’m going with you. It’s the least I could do to repay you for saving my life.” he said.
“Thanks.” I said before continuing on. Galehuat followed me to the stables and the two of us each got on our horses before riding to the north. Strangely though, Galehuat now had a large axe and was carrying the shield that the enemy giant was using. I was going to ask him about it but I was too dead set on getting Medea back. Though, I assume he just picked it up and decided it was a good fit for him.
Riding up as far as we could without being seen by the enemy we dismounted under the setting sun and tied our horses up in the woods so that they would be safe. Although we could see the enemy encampment we couldn’t see how many people were inside. The center of the Saxon camp was behind several waist high fences with spearmen set up along them. It was a good set up for a makeshift defense but lacked any protection from a barrage of enemy arrows. Though it made up for that as it was in the middle of a giant field. They would see us the moment we exited the woodlands.

“How fast can a shadow travel?” I asked Galehuat.
“Twice as fast as a regular person. I would assume that they already arrived at the camp some time ago.” Galehuat said.
“I was hoping that we could take them before they arrived so we didn’t have to fight off an army but I guess this will have to do.” I said.
“What are you thinking?” he asked with a worried look.
“Simple. I surrender.” I said. As I drew my knife and sword and placed them inside the pendant. He looked at me with a confused look as if I had gone mad.
“How is that a good idea?” he asked.
“It isn’t, but it’s the only way I can even get close to them. You just wait here and if things go wrong I need you to be ready to pick me and Medea up.” I said.
He didn’t quite understand but he nodded his head before I began walking down to the enemy camp.

War and violence were everywhere, and the people suffered until one day the death lord had enough. Breaking a long-standing alliance with the Life lord, they killed him and resurrected him as a pawn.
