《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 018

Wrapping Medea up in my coat I walked towards Galehuat who once out of his state of shock grabbed the horses and rode down to us. He was equally frightened and amazed by what he just saw so for the first part of our ride back he didn’t say a word. Either he was too afraid to or he didn’t want Medea to hear. Though as we rode she fell asleep while I held her wrapped up in my cloak like it was a blanket.

“Do you want to tell me what that was?” Galehuat asked with a tone that I couldn’t quite place. It sounded as if he was angry but also like he was very calm.

“The sword that the Lady of the Lake gave me can absorb magic and store it. Though I can also release it as long as the trigger can be activated. I found out back there that the trigger is in fact my rage.” I explained as best as I could. Though I had no clue myself. I was just guessing based on what I did.

“I see. Gwaine told me that you became a knight of the Round Table less than a week ago. How could you absorb so much magic in such a short amount of time?” he asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe when I fought Arthur I absorbs some of Excalibur’s power?” I replied.

“You fought Arthur for your trial! That must mean that you beat him?” Galehuat said with a surprised tone.

“Well, it wasn’t just Arthur. I was also fighting Merlin.” I said nonchalantly.

“What!” he yelled so loud that his horse stopped out of fear.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Merlin is the most powerful sorcerer in the world and Arthur is such a strong swordsman that few have ever fought him on an even plain. Yet you beat both of them?” he said.

“I think they were going easy on me. Had it’ve been to the death then I probably would be dead.” I said.

“That is probably true.” he said. After that we didn’t talk much. All we did was ride back to the fort.

Arriving back at the fort some time before dawn, Galehuat showed us to the barracks and I laid Medea down in a free bed. I then found one of the free beds and went to sleep. Sure enough, I was woken up much earlier than I would have liked as my eyes were all crusty and despite not drinking I felt like I had a hangover. It didn’t matter though as I had to get up or else I would face the wrath of some of the other knights. Medea was still sleeping so I left her be.

It also didn’t help that Arthur was making some kind of formal announcement. He was gathering everyone in the center of the fort as if it was some kind of festival. If I didn;t know any better I would say Arthur was extatic. As if he was about to jump for joy.

“Today is a good day! Our enemy, the Saxon’s have just taken a heavy blow. According to Sir Galehuat, Sir Micheal mowed down the entire Saxon army in this area with a single strike. Which means that we can leave this fort and return to Camelot for the time being. Some of you will stay here with Sir Galahad to keep it under our control but I assure you there will be plenty of rest.” Arthur exclaimed joyously.

The knights all cheered for joy upon hearing this. Some of them even walked up to me and thanked me. I was more surprised that so many of them knew who I was because I didn't know any of them. Even Gwaine walked up to me and gave me a hug.

“That may have been the fastest win in history! Now I can get something to drink. Because all the ale was poisoned here we can’t drink until we get back. Though when we do I plan on buying you as much ale as you want.” Gwaine said happily as he kept hugging me.

“Thanks.” I replied, unsure of why he was hugging me for way longer than any person could be comfortable with.

“Though, I have to ask. How did you do it?” he asked as he let me go.

“I just swung my sword around while I was pissed off. Everyone just died from being cut in half after that.” I said. He stared at me blankly, as if I was borderline insane.

“Okay then. We should get ready to head back to Camelot.” he said before patting me on the shoulder and walking away.

Following what he said I went back to the barracks to see if Medea was awake yet. She was but as soon as I got near her she woke up. As if on cue. Despite sleeping far longer than I did she still looked tired. Though I knew it may have had something to do with the ordeal she just went through. Speaking of that she was still wearing her torn clothes. I hope she had a spare, or at the very least there could be a spare inside the pendant.

“Good morning.” she said as she rubbed her eyes.

“Good morning. We’ll be heading back to Camelot today so you’ll have plenty of time to rest. For now though you should probably get a change of clothes and get yourself packed.” I said.

“Yes. I’ll get on it right away!” she said with an excited tone as she hopped out of the bed. Then she stopped as if she realized something.

“What’s up?” I asked.

“Could you go get my bag? It’s still on the saddle.” she said with a somewhat embarrassed tone as she wrapped herself back up in my coat.

“Of course.” I replied before walking off.
