By the time we finished cutting them all down we were all a little worn out. Galehuat leaned up against the log beside the road and Gwaine was lying on his back in the middle of the road having a casual one way conversation with one of the corpses while he caught his breath. Then you had me, who was leaning against my sword as I was incredibly tired and wanted to pass out.

“Hey Gwaine. Did you notice anything strange about these men?” I asked as I let out a yawn.

“Of course. They're the same ones we killed before. I think it may be a sorcerer or perhaps a vampire behind this. Perhaps they want to slow us down. If it was a sorcerer then we may be within a reality field. However, if it’s a vampire then it’s a powerful one and these are it’s thralls. We’ll have to kill it or else they’ll keep coming back.” Gwaine said.

“Why would they want to slow us down on the way back?” Galehuat asked.

“It may be a precautionary measure or… shit! Galehuat, ride back to Arthur and tell him Camelot may be in danger. Micheal, you’ll be with me.” Gwaine said as he shot up and ran over to his horse.

“Where are we going?” I asked as I waved Medea back over.

“Camelot. This whole set of battles was a diversion. They probably wanted the main force away from Camelot so that they could sneak around and destroy it.” Gwaine stated as he climbed onto his saddle. As he did, Medea came up and I hopped on the saddle behind her.

“What’s going on?” Medea asked.

“I’ll explain on the way. We need to get to Camelot though.” I stated as we both rode off. Galehuat climbed onto his horse as we rode off and rode off in the opposite direction towards Arthur.

We rode at a full gallop for what felt like hours, only slowing down to let the horses rest and get some water or food. Though the stopping made Gwaine rather uneasy as he was in a rush to get back. The feeling of dread that he had spread over to me as if it was a plague. I had no clue what we were riding into and my uneasiness in turn made Medea uneasy. Despite how tired we all were we rode through the night and our lack of sleep increased our paranoia and dread.

After a long night of riding we eventually saw the towers of Camelot peaking over the hills as the sun rose behind us. Though our return was not a welcome one. The city of Camelot was filled with a light that contrasted the sun. fires covered the houses and streets along with parts of the castle. Saxon soldiers filled the streets as they fought Camelot’s knights. Although we were too far away to see how many there we knew we had to fight. Removing Medea from the horse I called out Lily to watch her.

“Keep her safe this time.” I said to Lily sternly.

“I will.” Lily replied without any hesitation. Medea tried to stop me from leaving but before she could Lily grabbed her and held her back. I didn’t have the heart to look back so I kept on riding towards Camelot.

Riding into the city I drew my sword and began cutting down as many Saxon’s as I could. Though after I had only taken down three a spear jabbed into the front of my horse sending it tumbling over along with me. Jumping from the now dead horse as it fell to the ground I was soon surrounded by a small swarm of Saxon soldiers with their spears pointed at me. There was nothing I could do but fight so I readied my sword and focused until I was covered in the blue-ish black mist. Before I could attack though, a series of spider web-like red thread pierced through every last one of them.

“Thanks, Elysif.” I said, knowing that it was her who just saved me.

“You’re welcome.” she replied from inside the pendant.

Like before I began cutting through each and every enemy I came across. The only knights I saw were either dead or wounded so it was a rather grave site. The dead littered the streets and fire consumed whatever it could. Nothing was joyous or lively like the festival that was held here before we left. In fact, the atmosphere was terrifying and the scene was unrecognizable as a city. The very sight shook me to my core.

Either way, I kept fighting any Saxon I saw until I got to the castle. Gwaine was already there and desperately trying to kill off all of the soldiers attempting to break through the formation of knights in front of the door to the great hall.. Gwaine wiped them all out in a matter of minutes while I climbed the stairs to the stone balcony before the great hall door.

“Thank you, Sir Gwaine. We would have been killed for sure if you hadn’t stepped in.” one of the knights said with an exasperated sigh.

“You’re welcome. Where are the others?” Gwaine asked as I approached.

“There are several knight guarding the western door, eastern door, and south door along with the Round Table knights. We have gathered the townspeople inside as we are far too outnumbered. They wiped out nearly half of the reserve forces.” the knight stated. Just as he finished saying this another knight opened the main hall door looking out of breath.

“The Saxon’s have broken through the western door! Sir Mordred is currently fighting them off by himself and needs reinforcements!” the knight exclaimed.
