“You are as skilled as this man is. I’ll give you that. Though, I must say that you’re not going to beat me at this rate. I can use up this body until his muscles give out and his heart stops. You can only fight until you’re too tired to do so anymore.” Gwaine stated in the voice that wasn’t his own. I couldn’t help but agree with him there. Humans aren’t capable of such lengthy feets. However, I don’t think I classify as human anymore.

“You’re right. Though, who said I was human?” I said. Gwaine raised an eyebrow to my response just as if on cue a series of crimson blood threads shot out from the pendant at Gwaine. Launching himself backwards he dodged the threads.

I launched myself forward swinging my sword so that I could just pierce his armor. I didn’t know for certain but I hoped that maybe what had come over Gwaine was magic related and I could just absorb it. That said, I wasn’t entirely sure if that was correct so if I’m wrong then I probably wouldn’t be able to get this close to him again. As I traveled towards him he gave me a wry smile and held his sword out. Then his smile turned into that of confusion and shock. Looking at his chest, both him and I saw the tip of a sword piercing through it. I stopped in my tracks.

“I’m sorry, Gwaine.” Mordred said from behind him before she pulled the sword out of his chest and she collapsed to the ground. A cold sweat had built up all over her and she looked as if just the motion of standing was enough to make her keel over. Despite that she stood up and stabbed Gwaine, much to Morgana’s shock who still sat where she had been treating her daughters wounds beforehand looking dumbfounded.

“Thank you… Mordred…” I heard Gwaine say with a tired expression under his breath before collapsing on the ground as well. Though it wasn’t over. The spectre-like creature appeared from Gwaine's body and flew at me with an angry yell. Swinging my sword instinctively, it cut through the spectre. The ghost was absorbed into my sword in an instant without a single sound.

“What was that thing?” I asked.

“A cursed human. To put it simply, it was once a person but they used curses to keep their spirit intact after death. At least, that’s what I assume it was.” Morgana said as she checked over Gwaine. Since I had been a little distracted because of the whole spectre thing I had nearly forgotten that Gwaine was just stabbed so I rushed over to where he was.

“Is he going to live?” I asked with a worried tone as I walked over and knelt down beside Gwaine.

“He got stabbed through the heart honey. I don’t think anyone could survive that. If I had some of my potions I might be able to save him but they’re on the other side of the castle.” Morgana replied. Just as she said this he let out a light shallow breath.

“Elysif, do you have any potions that could help him?” I asked. Morgana looked around and gave me a weird look.

“Who’s Elysif?” she asked.

“Here. I only have one more left after this one and it will take me some time to make some more; so make sure this is what you want to use it for.” Elysif said from inside the pendant as a canning jar filled with vibrant colored liquid appeared from the pendant.

“What the hell!” Morgana said to herself as I opened up the jar and poured half of the contents into the wound. It sizzled like fat from a steak on a griddle making Gwaine seize up in pain. Next I tilted up his head and set the lip of the jar to his lips which he began to drink slowly.

“How do you have such a powerful potion with you?” Morgana asked as she watched Gwaine looking much better.

“I don’t think that’s important right now. Shouldn’t you be checking on Mordred?” I said with a snarky tone as I continued to have Gwaine drink. Then Gwaine lifted up his hand and pushed the jar away from his lips.

“Please… I don’t need it… I am already dead.” Gwaine said to me with heavy, yet joyful eyes.

“No, you need to drink. You haven’t died yet.” I replied as I tried to forcefully push the jar to his lips.

“There are others… who need help… go to them… and… and…” Gwaine said with quivering lips before his last breath exited his mouth and his eyes lost their light. I hadn’t treated him in time. He had passed on in my arms and I… I was too late. Setting him down against the cold floor I stood up.

Morgana gave me a look of compassion and concern as I did. She knew what I was thinking and didn’t have any reason to stop me. Although she didn’t know exactly what I was feeling, she could understand so she did nothing as I picked my sword up and my body became coated once more in a blue-ish black mist. Although I didn’t feel like I was angry, my body seemed to show that I was along with my mask which morphed around into that of a haunting smile.

Saxon’s came in through the door that Morgana and I both appeared from and within a second all of them fell to the floor in a pile of dismembered body part as I passed by them. Morgana watched in surprise as what could only be described as a blue rain cloud rippled through the air down the hall at a speed that to everyone around me seemed instantaneous.
