《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 030

Since Mordred had informed me of Freya’s murderer, she disappeared inside the pendant and I went back to getting ready. It was an odd feeling to have. To know that someone is going to die and there was nothing you could do about it.it was a helpless feeling but it confused me all the more. Though it wasn’t something that I could use as an excuse to laze around so I found myself heading to find Arthur.
Surprisingly enough, he was easy to find. He was standing among several other knights and giving directions. Beside him stood Merlin, Lancelot and a few others who I had yet to be introduced to. As I was arriving the knights he was speaking to dispersed except for Lancelot and one other. Arthur, along with most of the others were not in their armor and were just wearing casual shirts and pants due to the work they were doing.
“Ah, Micheal. You finally arrived. I’ll have you with Sir Dinadan. You’ll be clearing the burnt debris from the buildings on the northern side of Camelot.” Arthur said as he gestured at the other man with him.
He was a tall, lanky man with shoulder length brown hair that was tied in a ponytail with a piece of leather. He was barely what you would call clean shaven as he was bordering on a five o’ clock shadow and he looked fairly young. Even with everything that’s happened he wore a smile that made him seem rather inviting. His whole stature and body language made him seem like the kind of guy who would rather play games all day than work.
“As he just said I’m Sir Dinadan.” he said as he extended his hand.
“Sir Micheal, it’s good to meet you.” I replied as I shook his hand.

“Question, your mother wouldn’t have happened to have been a horse breeder would she?” Dinadan asked with a somehwhat worrying face.
“... no?” I replied with a concerned tone.
“Okay, cause your face looks kind of long.” Dinadan said with a chuckle. Lancelot placed his palm against his forehead and Arthur pinched the bridge of his nose in response. I wasn’t entirely sure as to what he meant and he couldn’t really see my face through the mask so I was utterly confused. The only one who was chuckling other than Dinadan was Merlin who was doing his best not to laugh.
“As you can probably tell, Dinadan is the kind of person who likes to make jokes rather than fight, or really do anything worthy of being a knight. That said, he is on par with several of the knights of the Round Table in terms of combat.” Arthur said with an annoyed tone.
“I don’t get it. That was supposed to be a joke?” I asked. Dinadan looked a little depressed by my comment but both Lancelot and Arthur began patting Dinadan on the back with a chuckle.
“It was… but I guess you’re not bright enough to realize it.” Dinadan said.
“Anyways, Arthur, I need to talk with you in private later.” I said.
“About what?” Arthur asked in a tone that made him seem like would rather be resting than having a meeting with me or anyone for that matter.
“An incident involving future events.” I said in a way that I hoped wouldn’t sound too strange. Merlin raised an eyebrow at me but didn’t seem like he cared enough to bother.
“I see. Then yes. How does after dinner sound?” Arthur replied.
“That’s fine with me.” I said.

With that introduction out of the way Dinadan led me to the northern part of the town where several other knights were already picking through the buildings and carrying out large beams that were charred or burnt. Carts were coming by and being loaded up before being taken off to a pile which was being cut into firewood.
“Pick an area and start dreading out the wood. However, if you find some that’s good then you should just move it out of the way. We’ll reuse it when we rebuild.” Dinadan instructed.
“Anywhere that I shouldn’t go?” I asked.
“Don’t ever use the backdoor.” he said with a smug smile. I just rolled my eyes and walked off towards one of the homes.
For several hours I moved wood from collapsed and partially collapsed houses onto carts. It felt strange as I hadn’t done labor like this in quite a while. Usually my jobs included cardio rather than heavy lifting so it wasn’t exactly easy for me. Neither Elysif nor Compton were willing to answer my requests for help. Although, I wasn’t exactly sure what I would have them do.
Medea somehow ended up getting put on relief detail when she finally got up so I would see her from time to time during the day. Her detail was mainly running around and giving water to anyone who requested it. Which wasn’t all that difficult. By the end of the day I was beat and it was only an hour before dinner so I meandered my way back to my room. Medea was already there so I figured I would get back into the habit of teaching her how to read and write. It lasted all of about ten minutes as neither of us had enough energy to even hold a book.

Berries, Boars, and a Boy (A How to Train Your Dragon Fanfiction) (Snotlout/OC)
"In a lot of ways, Snotlout is very much Spitelout's son," said Freda. Torben did not need to see her face to hear in her voice that she wanted to say more. "One can hardly help but notice," he said when she didn't immediately continue. "But," she added hesitantly. "In more subtle and quiet ways he is much more my son." Torben turned his face toward the sun, the heat of it warming his skin though his world remained dark. "Even without my sight I could see that. Why else do you think I would encourage and allow his frequent visits here." --- He was brash, cocky, and way too self-confident for it to be real but he had gotten her out of the tree. She was older than him, taller than him, and had an annoying habit of seeing through his bluffs but she had stitched him up. What happens when Sigyn and Snotlout strike up an unusual friendship? And what happens when Snotlout goes away to The Edge with the other Dragon Riders and she stays behind? Will their friendship remain intact, fade away, or possibly change into something neither was expecting? Just see if I don't make a Snotlout fan of you by the end.
