《The Supernatural Case of an Accidental Time Traveler》War - Part 034

“Who did this!” Merlin shrieked angrily as tears ran down his face and blurred his vision. No one said anything for no one saw who had done it first hand. They all just watched in fear of what Merlin might do. It wasn’t until Arthur appeared looking disheveled and out of breath.
“Oh no.” Arthur muttered to himself under his breath.
“Arthur! Find who did this and bring them to me. I’ll make them see something far worse than hell and make them think that hell would be a mercy.” Merlin yelled as a mix of tears, snot, and spit sprayed from his mouth in rage.
Arthur knew exactly who did this. Though he could not tell Merlin that he knew who had done it. How he could say it was Balin without pointing out that he knew it was going to happen made Arthur panic. Then as if it were divine intervention a young stable boy spoke up.
“I know who did it!” the boy called out. Merlin looked at the boy with eyes of pure malice, making the boy shudder in fear but he didn’t dare move.
“Who did it boy?” Merlin asked.
“The knight who was given the sword by the strange lady last night. He stole one of the horses that we had tied up over where the stables used to be. He ran from over here so he might have done it.” the boy explained. Arthur didn’t hesitate.
“Find Balin at all costs. I want half of our men to search high and low. Go out in every direction by horse until he is found. Search the entire isle and destroy anyone who gets in your way! Whoever finds him and brings him back alive will receive a large reward.” Arthur yelled out. The knights who were there all nodded and began spreading the word to the other knights. Within only ten minutes the knights began saddling up and went their separate ways to find Balin.

I, however, was just woken up by the sound of knights clamoring around. One of which knocked on my door and told me the news. I was shocked. It happened without my knowledge and I did nothing to stop it. Damn it! Was there nothing that I could do? As soon as I thought about this I was in the world of stars.
Tim stood in front of me wearing the usual toga-like robe. This time Tim seemed more at ease. It wasn’t like Tim was trying to get under my skin or anything like the many times before. Tim just looked, well, like Tim. Walking towards me, Tim’s feet caused ripples along the ground as if walking on water but each ripple froze in place after spreading out a certain amount to create an elaborate work of art along the ground.
“What do you want? Here to allow me out of this time period yet?” I asked in a tone that told him just how tired I was of being a pawn in some twisted game.
“Not exactly. You still have work to do in this time period. However, I heard your plea. So I’ll let you try something out. If you think you can save them then do so. Change the timeline and prove me wrong. Though, you only get one chance. Fail and all you’ve done is proven just how powerless you are. I won’t interfere whatsoever.” Tim said in a voice that almost sounded empathetic.
“Alright. I agree.” I replied.
“Good.” Tim said as a horrific smile shot up along the gods face. With a snap of Tim’s fingers I was standing outside the castle.
It was barely the crack of dawn and as I looked around to gauge my surroundings I saw Merlin and Freya climb out of a water basin completely dry. Freya looked pissed off about something and Merlin looked a bit scared. Though I wasn’t sure whether he was scared of his wife or whether he was scared for whoever she was mad at. Either way I walked in front of their path much to their surprise.

“Sir Micheal, what is the matter?” Merlin asked with a look that told me that I shouldn’t try anything that may piss Freya off more.
“I’m sorry to say this but a knight named Balin is going to kill Freya today. I would ask that both of you return to your home and wait until I’ve taken care of the threat.” I said in the nicest way possible.
“Balin is? Well, that’s even more incentive for me to ask for his head.” Freya said with a wry smile. Merlin looked a bit peeved that I even said anything but he was curious about what I said.
“Wait, what do you mean that he will kill my wife?” Merlin said.
“I can travel through time. However, I can only do it a little bit at a time. I was told later today that you are killed so I’m trying to prevent it.” I stated clearly. Both of them looked confused by my claim.
“You must have had too much to drink or something. My wife can’t be killed by some failure of a knight like that. Magic sword or not.” Merlin said with a chuckle before the two walked off into the castle.
“I guess it’s plan B then…” I said to myself even though I had no clue what plan B was.
