《Light of Returning Darkness》CH 57 : THE FINAL SHOWDOWN (5)

Five minutes before the time was over.
When Feng Luotian was selecting his monster cores, Mei Yue’er retrieved the injured Ying Lizhua and met up with the rest of the party at the rendezvous point, she then distributed Healing Pills for everyone to recover their strength.
But Ying Lizhua refused to take it, because not only his pride did not allow it, he would like to reserve his blood loss percentage as it was to maximize his damage in their last move.
With a slap from Mei Yue’er, Sun Wuji whose face was covered in blood suddenly woke up.
She was with him long enough to know that even though his mind was blank and his face was blood-soaked, Sun Wuji was the most tenacious when it came to life force, so a little slap would not give him any pain at all.
Sun Wuji was looking left and right to search for the clone. Seeing this puzzled monkey, Mei Yue’er quickly briefed the overall situation to Sun Wuji and handed him some Healing Pills.
Sun Wuji took his pill while listening: “So, it came to this Plan B, huh?” He said as he wiped away his blood on the face. The wound gradually healed as it was just a superficial one.
Mei Yue’er nodded and proceeded to the lying He Chen. Following that, she transferred most of her Theríon into He Chen’s body and only left about 3% as a reserve to use when necessary.
As the [Thousand Illusion Aurora Peacock] bloodline’s owner which Theríon capacity was higher than most bloodlines in the universe, Mei Yue’er had the highest Theríon within the party.
After the Theríon transfer was finished, the aura radiating from He Chen was overflowing and pulsing furiously, ready to erupt from his body at any moment.
Bloodline Ability: Piercing Focus Level 6
Upon receiving Theríon from other cultivators, the next attack’s damage will be increased by 3 times of Theríon increment percentage.
Before this, He Chen had around 12% of Theríon left, but right now, he had more than 250% of his maximum Theríon. This was even more than the amount of Theríon dozens of his previous party members gave him.
He Chen could not help but admire: “Goddess, you are amazing just by having this much Theríon within you.” As one of her followers, he adored her even more than before.
“Thank you but don’t mind me. Please carry out your task.”
Mei Yue’er gracefully replied, making He Chen nod in obedience. That was right. Why did they bother increasing the attack damage of someone who could not even move? The answer lay within his innate skill: [Divine Bestowment].

When He Chen used this skill, he could transfer the damage boosted by the ability: [Pierce Focus] from himself to another person and also increase its efficiency in the process. As for his skill’s target? It was Ying Lizhua.
He Chen bestowed his damage boost to Ying Lizhua. His former radiance dimmed down to his normal state. Ying Lizhua, on the other hand, was admiring the power he had within his grasp. The aura was barely controllable even for him.
What he got was almost an 800% attack boost. And right now, with a little more than 20% blood left within his body, he also received another boost by more than 300% from his [Blood Steel] ability.
Combining with his [Eagle Flight], his attack now was multiplied by at least 48 times. This was the first time Ying Lizhua ever hold such immense power. Nevertheless, according to their plan, this was not the end, but right now, they had to wait in their position ready to give the final strike to take down the clone.
An explosive impact echoed when Feng Luotian dropped down to the ground after giving the clone his full-force claw strike. He knew that this was far from enough to finish off the clone, so he stayed vigilant with his three floating cyclones.
Only a few seconds after Feng Luotian landed, the earth started to tremble, and with a boom, a figure shot out from the crater and dropped in front of Feng Luotian. The clone’s aura was only dimmed down a bit by Feng Luotian’s previous attacks.
Mei Hongyi ridiculed: “Hmph!! You think you have won after raising your strength by one level?! Hahaha … in your dreams!! And since you’re asking for it, I will send you off f…”
Clank!!
Mei Hongyi got caught by another [Gold Lock].
Feng Luotian let out a chuckle and spoke in the party chat: “Brother Wei, ah!! Although this was unnecessary, it’s to my liking. I really love to cut off their conversion when they’re spouting too much bullshit in the battle. You and I really are similar. I like you more and more. Hahaha!!”
Wei Ci smiled on the side: “My pleasure!!”
Not wasting any opportunity, Feng Luotian switched from heavy attacks to a series of quick and light ones.
He transferred half of the movement speed to his attacking speed and delivered dozens of attacks within a couple of disabling seconds [Gold Lock] presented him.
Each of his swings was more than 300-kg force and Mei Hongyi had no choice but to receive them defenselessly.

Although he did not feel pain within the clone’s body, the fact that he was being pulverized by a younger generation without being able to raise a hand infuriated him more than ever.
Being released from the skill, Mei Hongyi furiously countered Feng Luotian’s attacks.
Once the clone was finally free, Feng Luotian used his [Momentum Eyes] and his extreme speed to parry its attacks and threw in some counterattack.
Each exchange created a deafening sound and destroyed the land around them.
Behind the ancient ruin, Tu Lingxi lightly muttered: “Unbelievable. It’s only been a week, but if Jiu Hao was to fight him right now, he would be squashed in seconds.”
Sun Wuji: “When did he become this strong?”
Mei Yue’er: “…”
Mei Yue’er and Sun Wuji were watching the fight with glittering eyes. They still could not believe that this guy, who was a commoner one month ago, was able to fight the battle they could not fathom themselves to perform even a fifth of that scale.
Even Ying Lizhua was no exception. Even though his character was absurdly unyielding, on the inside, he had to accept that he could not carry the feat Feng Luotian was doing.
If even these geniuses had inwardly bowed down to Feng Luotian, then nothing was to be said for the spectating crowd outside. Their mouths were hung down widely opened without any word coming out ever since the start of the confrontation between Feng Luotian and the strongest clone.
Hundreds of exchanges had been made but in fact, only 15 seconds had passed since the start of the battle.
Nevertheless, the clone’s aura has considerably dwindled down because it used [Aurora Slash] from time to time but Feng Luotian could dodge it every single time, so the clone’s Theríon was significantly spent along with some damage dealt by Feng Luotian.
The clone was just an amalgamation of Theríon. If its Theríon was all spent, the clone would of course cease to exist, unlike human beings with physical constitutions. The skill that used Theríon would accelerate the time of its doom.
Even though the damage he caused was negligible, the task on hand was not to deal damage but to exhaust his opponent’s Theríon as much as possible. This was practically the same situation when he fought Jiu Hao.
However, Feng Luotian’s Theríon also had some problems. It could not sustain two skills activating at the same time for long. His Theríon was being drained out like a broken dam as he shouted in the party: “My Theríon could only hold on for another ten seconds, are you guys ready?”
Sun Wuji: “We have been watching you fight for quite a while now, so we’re ready!!”
Feng Luotian: “Okay!! Brother Wei, the moment I retreat, please chain-cast your remaining skill and disable the clone for as long as possible!!”
Wei Ci replied: “Okay-dokey!!”
His two duplications who still had the skill ready moved closer to the clone, preparing for the final moment.
Feng Luotian continued to bombard the clone with ruthless attacks for a few seconds until he finally pulled off his punches and kicks as he thought: “Now should be enough to finish it with our ultimate strike.”
The clone’s eyes flashed as Mei Hongyi commanded it to raise its arm and gather most of his leftover Theríon ready to release the strongest [Aurora Slash], aiming for Feng Luotian.
Feng Luotian taunted: “What’s the point of using the skill that yields no result, Second Elder?”
Five [Aurora Slashes] had been made ever since they were engaged in battle, but Feng Luotian had dodged all of them without any difficulty at all.
However, on the contrary of what Feng Luotian thought that Mei Hongyi would start to go on a rampage, the clone gave out a calm smile and released the skill.
After the blue light flashed across Feng Luotian’s eyes, his expression turned serious. In his [Momentum Eyes], the skill projectile was not directed at him, instead, it was two other duplications of Wei Ci: Wei Hao and Wei Yan who approached them earlier.
Feng Luotian shouted: “Brother Wei, watch out!!”
Mei Hongyi sneered: “Quite too late, don’t you think?”
A clanking sound chimed as [Aurora Slash] was released, following by a boom when the skill hit its target. After that, Wei Hao and Wei Yan were both instantaneously evaporated into particles of light, along with Wei Ci and Wei Gang as their Health was shared. They all lay heavily injured on the ground outside the exam.
When Mei Hongyi was extensively accumulating Theríon for his skill earlier, he poured all of it to boost the skill’s traveling speed. And since they moved in too close, there was no way Wei Ci’s duplications could dodge in time. And since they were extremely fragile, to begin with, a little damage from a Three Talon clone could send them out without a problem.

Sweetleaf Cultivation
If you’re reading this. Not cool Dude! Or Dudette. Hashtag Resist. Seriously though, it’s not nice to read other people's diaries. Yes, it's a diary, kind of. The only men who call their diaries journals have an issue with their own masculinity I think. Well, I guess I can’t be too angry, considering if this is in anyone else’s hands I’m probably dead. Or I lost it. I lose stuff a lot. Since you’re here, regardless of the reason, I guess I’ll tell my story, such as it is. I know, why tell my story when I could tell you about the Fall of Killianor, or the story of when Micha the Bold banded together with his underdog group of misfits to destroy the Pallantine Regime. Hell, even the tale of Tulsa and Gran’s star crossed love affair would probably be better. If you don’t think so after finishing this you more than likely have poor taste. Weird taste, at any rate. Hello RR! Welcome to the greatest work of fiction you will ever read! ... .... Did you believe that? Cause its not. At all. This is my first work that I will have published in any fashion, and to be completely honest is more to gain practice for my real story. That is not to say I do not care about it. I do. I will do my best to finish it in, if not satisying, at least a conclusive manner. I will warn you however that updates will be infrequent at best though chapter length will not be under 2000 words. I work third shift currently, and at over 40 hours a week I do not have much time to really devote to this at the moment. I DO have an outline for the novel complete, but currently only about 5 actual chapters written and edited. There will be mistakes, including grammar and continuity, plot holes, etc.. If you see these please either comment or feel free to message me directly, and I will get it updated asap. Aside from a fledgeling authors mishaps, expect to find a somewhat comedic slice of life, with a mish mash of xianxia and western fantasy themes, tropes and the like. There will be some gore, network tv levels of sexuality, and absolutely no harems. There will also be COPIUS amount of swearing and drug use and while I said there would be no harems already he may find people in polyamorous situations. I hope you enjoy this, and as a last aside I beg of you not to rate it super low without justification, and if you give a bad rating please leave an actual review so that i know what I need to work on. *Original cover as of 09/01/20. Mishmash of stock photos and edits. HAVE FUN!
