XG 22 - Use your face to block the bullets
And so the second row was occupied by Wong Xue Guo and Chen Jiang An, the third with Chen Yibo and Kang Xunsu. The driver seat will be left to L.L, the sharp-eyed second in command of the bodyguard squad and Suzie Yap will take the passenger seat.
The car finally started, leaving behind the infected zone. Yet fear still followed her, lingering around her heart like a phantom.
Kang Xunsu, who was seated behind her, patted the little princess's shoulder. After getting her attention, he wriggled his eyebrow at her attire before glancing at Suzie Yap.
With a pout hidden under her mask, she shook her head and wriggled her eyebrows happily.
Kang Xunsu's eyebrow raised in surprise. "No?"
"No." Wong Xue Guo could not resist giggling. Her new mother was not against her wearing these 'low grade' attire.
Kang Xunsu had seen the attire she packed for yesterday's graduation outing, so he knew Suzie Yap had very likely seen her shirt and jeans attire during the rescue attempt. She and Suzie Yap were now changed into a clean casual sports attire, very likely they changed into clean clothes together.
With her parents disallowing her to wear 'cheap' goods, it was difficult for Wong Xue Guo to buy them without being discovered. Thus, Kang Xunsu's credit card was needed. Most of her purchases were hidden in her accomplice’s house, yet to have the chance to see the sun. Of course, their movement could not be hidden from L.L, who was Kang Xunsu's roommate, but he kept their secret to keep the peace.
"Only for today's special event," Kang Xunsu reminded her.
"Doubt it." Who will still prance around in a dress and heeled shoes when they need to run from zombies? Just to die beautifully?
“Your mother is able to do it,” Kang Xunsu pointed out with a smirk.
If she had not seen how her mother slayed the zombies in her high heels and dress, she would have doubted his words. "Anyway, why is it only both of you? Mother did not bring more support?"
She had expected her mother to bring along her whole team, seeing that she was aware of the zombie.
"The others went to buy important stuff."
"Important stuff…"
Why could Wong Xue Guo guess that those things would be food, medicine, and petrol? Because they were the essentials in the apocalypse world!

Their conversation could be heard by the Chen cousins, but only Chen Yibo listened to them silently. Whatever he thought about their conversation could not be deciphered from his neutral expression. As for Chen Jiang An, he fell asleep not long after the car started. Not even the shaking ground from the bombing managed to wake him.
Kang Xunsu tapped Wong Xue Guo's head and jerked his chin at the sleeping Chen Jiang An. "Aren't you going to sleep like him?"
Wong Xue Guo wanted to, but her imagination of where they could be attacked in the middle of the journey stopped her from completely relaxing.
"Just sleep. I will wake you up if something happens," Chen Yibo offered.
Wong Xue Guo gave him a weird look, but also wary of the belief that the words he had said out loud would make it happen. It was not the first time Chen Yibo’s words ended up coming true. While it was good that his prediction came true, what got him disliked was his inappropriate timing on voicing out his guess and having his classmates get caught by patrolling teachers when they were up to no good.
She wanted to stay awake, agreed by her mind, but her body was wilful and forced her to doze off in the silent car with the comforting vibration of the vehicle. Luckily, her mind immediately woke up, ignoring the wilful body, when she felt the car stopped.
The zombies had really dealt a great trauma to her mind.
She touched her face and found that her face mask was missing. Someone must have removed it from her to let her breathe easier. With a nonchalant face, she touched around her chin and confirmed she had not drooled in her sleep before raising her head to take in her surroundings.
Seeing the unfamiliar place, she asked, "Where is this?"
"My home." Just a second after the sleepy Chen Jiang An answered, the entrance gate of the bungalow swung open and a large group of suit-attired bodyguards swarmed out and around their car.
No wonder Jiang An has generalized the image of bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses.
These uncles, why would you wear sunglasses in the dark? Can you still see?
"... Jiang An, you did not tell your family it's you that’s returning home?" Wong Xue Guo voiced her doubt, not remembering if his phone had survived.

"I did!" Chen Jiang An protested, completely awake. "I even told them what car I'm coming with! I even got a reply!"
Chen Yibo patted his cousin's shoulder "They are just worried for your safety. Let's get out."
So that you can use your face to block the bullets.
Before Chen Jiang An could do so, Suzie Yap had already gotten out calmly, not afraid the bodyguards would shoot her ‘accidentally’.
Wong Xue Guo's eyes widened. "Mother!"
"Madam must be confident they won't shoot randomly or else she won't go out," Kang Xunsu appeased the terrified little princess.
"That's grandpa!" Chen Jiang An recognized the elderly man with streaks of white hair walking towards them with a walking cane. There was also a man wearing a butler uniform following after the elderly man.
For a moment, Wong Xue Guo's heart raced when she saw the white hair. White-haired zombies have made the elderly and albino's life more dangerous. Even those people that dyed their hair white would immensely regret their choice later when they were wrongly identified as zombies.
As the head of their family appeared, the Chen cousins hurried out of the car.
"Staying?" Kang Xunsu asked.
"Going." Wong Xue Guo followed after her classmates. Staying inside the car means she will miss out on important information.
Although it was far-fetched to think Grandpa Chen would know more about the zombie virus' origin, his two sons working in the China military might know something and send back some warning.
And she also wanted to know what her mother might say to Grandpa Chen about yesterday’s incident.
How can the bodyguards leave their employers? L.L parked their car at the large compound beside the row of various expensive cars. Their white jeep was slightly dented and lowered its value compared to the row of dazzling cars.
Wong Xue Guo: Tsk, tsk, rich family.
She was not sure how rich her parents were, but their family was rather low-key and did not own more than two cars. Her family prioritizes safety over comfort when it comes to buying cars.
After reassuring himself that his grandsons were safe, Grandpa Chen invited them in and met Chen Jiang An's father, the eldest son of Grandpa Chen in the living room.
The guests were served with warm tea that Wong Xue Guo took the time to enjoy. The warmth feels good, heating up her body and soul. It provided some mental healing, distancing herself from the horror, even if it was only a momentary illusion.
Chen Jiang An introduced them to his father and grandfather, emphasizing that Suzie Yap saved their lives. He clearly does so in order for his family to repay her kindness, if possible.
Wong Xue Guo noticed Grandpa Chen's face changed when her mother's name was revealed, with a spark of recognition flashed past his eyes the more he stared at Suzie Yap. Although Chen Yibo's father was Wong's family friend, she had not seen Grandpa Chen before, but that might not be the case for her parents.
Her mother then proved her guess. "It's been a while, Elder Chen."
Grandpa Chen sighed heavily, his mood disturbed. "I remember seeing you once or twice, with your husband. I remember your husband is working with my youngest son in the medical field. I never thought the next time we would meet again would be the time where such a dangerous virus would appear. It will be hard for us humans to survive."
Chen Tang An, Grandpa Chen’s eldest son, does not want his father to continue worrying over the disaster and affect his health. "Thank you for saving Jiang An and Yibo and even bringing them home. If you have any need for assistance, our family will help out."
"I just happen to pass by and saving them is not much of a trouble." Suzie Yap downplayed the matter.
"Master Shang's prediction came true a week ago, likely related to the rampaging virus spreading around the world." Chen Tang An's goodwill was flipped over by his father, who dragged back the conversation to the path he wanted. Grandpa Chen suddenly eyed Wong Xue Guo and Suzie Yap with a pitying gaze. "I remember one of your daughters is named?"
One of your daughters?
"I only have one daughter, this lovely child." Patting Wong Xue Guo's head gently, Suzie Yap smiled, her gaze full of sinister victory. "She was listed yesterday."
It took Grandpa Chen a while to realize the meaning of Suzie Yap's words and shuddered fiercely with a pale face.
"Father!"
"Grandpa!"

The Thing About Apholie: A Wolfwalkers Fanfiction
14 year-old Abigail Rosmere is afraid. Afraid of the wild. Which would make being friends with Apholie Lilliput, a wild girl from the nearby woods, sound very ironic. She's the only wild thing Abigail isn't afraid of. But when Apholie accidentally turns her into her species, far unlike any human, Abigail's world is turned upside down. And when Apholie is in danger, will Abigail run and save herself or stay and fight to protect the only thing she has left to call her own? (This is my first story on Wattpad and it is inspired by Wolfwalkers. I do not own the movie, it's characters, plot or any part of it at all. Credit goes to the original creators, Cartoon Saloon. I do own this sh*tty fanfic however, lol)*WATCH WOLFWALKERS FIRST BEFORE READING THIS FANFIC, IT WILL MAKE MORE SENSE, JUST TRUST ME!!!!*Additional stuff, (lol):Updates will most likely be very slow, mainly either due to school or lack of motivation. Also, I do not take requests. I do, however, take constructive criticism. My writing will most likely get better with the more books I compose, cus honestly I'm not too proud of this, but I'm too lazy to change it so I'm sticking with it. This was made with no planning whatsoever, so be prepared for some parts that may not make any sense. Lack of self confidence aside, I do hope you enjoy!(Thx for the 107 views, by the way!)
