The Blightbane Guild:
The Blightbane Guild was founded by a group that came to be called the Blight Seekers because they sought to purge the Blight from the face of the planet.
Attitudes about this mission have changed over the years. It is believed that the Blight was not terribly dangerous to anyone who did not simply avoid it in earlier centuries of recorded history. It is always dangerous to seekers themselves, but common goals often motivate these individuals to brave this danger.
Early History:
In the past, there is evidence of an organized effort to eradicate the Blight from the known world. This event coincides with the origin of the first Blight Seekers. However, many recordings have been lost and information has been distorted as stories have been passed through the generations.
Seekers exist all over the known world. Different Guild headquarters function in different ways, with patterns developing within each respective nation and territory.
Communication Networks:
Communication between headquarters and the dissemination of Blight-relevant information across national boundaries is often difficult, but efforts are made.
Shroud has been occasionally known to send teams of seekers to help train the seekers in their allied nations. These seekers are working [INFORMATION INACCESSIBLE - INCOMPLETE].
Blight Seekers:
Seekers in different regions have different responsibilities.
In Shroud, Blight Seekers are the independent workers who take on Guild-sanctioned jobs. The majority of seekers hunt blightbeasts exclusively, but some fill noncombat roles. Even these noncombatants are required to have some combat training.
Some seekers want to get rich by taking risks instead of living quiet lives. Making a living as a seeker is easier for people who prefer to work for themselves and on their own hours. There are also those who are motivated primarily to get stronger by consuming blightseeds.

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
