When I saw the screen appear I took a glance at it before dismissing it, the beasts were closer, I could feel their energy getting closer to me, the energy in the surrounding that kept washing me entering my body in and out, while the pain continued to increase.

I took a glance at the buildings around the street all of them being four to five floors high with vegetation growing on their walls, leaving the street in the open I came closer to the buildings, there were pieces of glasses all over the place.

I felt a strong sense of danger from my back and turned slashing vertically at the same time at the beast that attacked me, only to see my sword cut off the arm of one of those monsters with two horns its arm falling on the ground while blood washed my face, it let out a growl of pain but he didn't stop despite having his severed hand.

I was surprised how they were called and the fact that I gained more energy point than what a normal level four beasts give, My thought disturbed by a rat jumping at me is huge body almost covering all my body, I ducked to the side but still felt my shoulder being clawed by the rat letting with three gashes and some flesh.

' ahhh damn if it keeps going like that I am not sure if I will be able to live enough long to die from having my organs melting or the beasts cutting my body piece by piece

I could feel my body heating like if I had a fire melting my organs after I used my energy to kill the cleaymor and now using it once again on my legs to help me dodge in time, my body was no more able to sustain me with enough strength doing its best to keep me alive from the surrounding energy washing me stronger than before.

Your body not having sufficient energy to support the ambient energy around you will be under stronger pressure, since you can't regain your energy during the upgrade process be ready for the process to start.

' ahhh just shut up I know it already ' I was starting to go crazy the beasts that kept jumping at me every time I kill one of them and this system that didn't help and kept disturbing me at a crucial moment and

Passing the rat that was still trying to stand rolling on himself, The beasts were just behind me and in the street the small street with buildings from each side, the surrounding of the neighborhood filled with their growls.

I stopped just a few steps from the rat when I saw from the corner of my eyes an open door of the building, not thinking twice I jumped at the entrance door only to see the shadow of the rat pass the door, I retreated in fright only to see that it had stopped after half of his body entered and clawed at me but couldn't reach me.

I cursed inwardly before looking at the rat that was growling at me and took my sword cutting one of his paws staining the ground floor in red while it let out a high pitch scream and used his remaining leg to push his body back turning his body left to right making the entrance tremble but I finished him before he could retreat.

I felt the buildings tremble and growls coming from outside and didn't have to guess to know that they were trying to enter the buildings.

I went upstairs only to see that it was like the other buildings I went in, apartment doors already open with the rooms with either body of a beast or a human one, I dragged my body that was now emitting faint steam and the burning sensation around my neck slowly spreading to my head.

I did my best to reach at least the third floor before I could barely advance using the wall to stand up and before I know, I was in an apartment not sure if I closed the entrance door, entered a chamber closing the door before I fell on the floor the burning sensation increasing all over my body.

Outside the beasts were trying to enter but most of them were unable to enter even after taking out the body of the rat and even the cleaymors that were chasing after the human didn't find him when they entered searching the first and second floor, they were starting to lose patience they received a quest to kill all the human they saw after they entered this city, but from what they saw this one was already in a bad state before they chase after him.

Some of the smallest beasts tried and searched too but not having the same intelligence as the cleaymors they came out of the building sniffing the street and the surrounding before going search elsewhere.

And after the last hours chasing after him they should have wounded him too much so that he could only wait to die slowly or being eaten by a random beast.

the beasts on the other hand didn't have that much though they tried to find him with his smell, but somehow something was making it hard for them to found him like if he was everywhere at the same time in the building, they had lost a prey that had a smell that makes them drool and could only go look for another one, so they tried to destroy some of the human rock buildings near the one the human disappeared and got bored after failing to make them collapse destroying only a part of it but not the whole buildings, and took their attention on those strange beasts that were like a human.

the cleaymors noticing that some of the beasts now looking at them like prey came closer to each other before retreating in the street going for the entrance of the center city while letting out howls toward the beasts that were still following them, the beasts didn't try to follow them they weren't all of the same species and didn't like each other, and those beasts that looked like humans emitted a dangerous feeling which dissuades them from hunting them.

They dispersed when they couldn't hear or feel the cleaymors near the area.

Chris who was undergoing his bloodline upgrade didn't know that he was saved only because the cleaymors although close to human in intelligence, didn't have their cunningness to think that maybe he was further upstairs, and the beasts of lower-level, not enough intelligent.

I couldn't clearly see what was written on the screen but I felt a surge of energy entering my body, It was like water pouring in me calming the burning of my body and organs that were being destroyed from the inside by the energy that kept washing me.

I could feel it since my bloodline was protecting my heart with most of the faint blue-black points gathered around, it slowly went back all over my body healing me, my blood was being filled with the surge of energy make me feel full once again like if I got back something important to me.

I took out a long breath feeling the energy spread, it was strange that I know that if I couldn't get enough energy back to complete my body upgrade and protect myself from the surrounding energy I would die and after experiencing my body destroying from the inside I started to trust that instinct that came from my bloodline.

It was when I realized that before we might not need something to live and just needed air and food and let our body with sufficient energy to live but now with the new change of the Earth the energy now played a huge part for us to grow stronger and everything else on earth having a link to it now.

My mind going wild trying to understand what happened, I was doing a simple hypothesis but if it was true then we were screwed, I stopped thinking when I felt my bloodline create new blue-black points from the energy it absorbed in my blood while some of the points mixed with my blood making me feel that I had slowly a better control and view of how to use my bloodline instead of letting it have its own independence.

After some time the energy hitting me calmed down and I could now see without having my eyes hurting and summoned my status screen wanting to know if after all this pain to almost getting my body melted from the inside was really working although I could feel it with my bloodline creating new points, but those one were less black and bluer than the others already in my body absorbing energy starting to be less black too before spreading in my body using my blood vessels, compared to the process when leveling my body used the energy of the level up to strengthen itself while my bloodline used it too to grow strong.

Making me realize that energy played really a big role in my bloodline abilities, body strengthening, and bloodline upgrade.

I smiled when I saw that I was now at level 6 and gained a new path that should be because of my painful fight in the last hours.

I wasn't sure what to think after going through all this if I didn't get two levels I would have to think if this system didn't want to kill all humanity because if I had to live this experience for two-level how hard would it be for the higher levels.

I allocated my Energy points in This path before allocating the rest to my level.

The path disappearing just after I added my energy points I felt the same surge of information as with [Short sword mastery] but this time it wasn't the same it was as if someone was trying to destroy my will to naught hitting both my body and will.

I wanted to break my head, the pain was so strong that I could only grab my head hitting it against the floor, tear-filled my cheeks with blood slowly covering my eyes, while I rolled on the floor.

In those pieces of information, it was like if someone talked in my head and keeps screaming at me how weak I am and the pain was making me unable to even fight back against those words, the pain was spreading to my body my energy going on a rampage making me lose my control over it an in the process hurting myself making me spit blood.

I wasn't sure how much time I was in this state I know only that at some point I couldn't think anymore and instinctively greeted my teeth biting my lips, I wanted to give up this kind of pain was a whole level apart from what I went through when fighting, but my bloodline somehow took me from the verge as if it was building a shield using my energy and slowly directed it toward my brain making the information or the voices that were entering my head to stop.

I couldn't understand what was going and how my bloodline could have a link to the path I got from the system, the sudden experience made me unable to know what to do but when I read the screen that appeared it seemed that I might have been gone through a new upgrade, making me smile not sure if I should be happy or not for that and what does it change to gain an upgrade without energy point or energy core from a beast. ' So now we can also complete the prerequisite of our bloodline to get an upgrade' I took out a long sigh, my body that was tense calming down and my energy calming down too before trying to digest all the information I learned about the path, my bloodline. Now I could somehow understand, how worked the system at least for those that had a bloodline we didn't have access to the market system, but we can grow without using the energy points but it depends on the type of bloodline maybe my case was special I don't know but it was better than nothing. I wasn't sure if I gained something else apart from the upgrade of my bloodline but for [pain resistance] I didn't feel something change like with [short sword mastery ] maybe I needed to get hurt to see the difference but I wasn't willing to jump at a beast and let myself hurt just to prove if I got a pain resistance or how much I could support.
