《I'd Like to Change My Reincarnation Subscription, Please》Ch117 - Intoxicated Mischief

As Miss Chievous slowly creeps towards their table, both Rewind and Freeze Frame are struggling not to openly laugh.
Thanks to the snippets from what they've seen of the various streams featuring Lucas and company today, they're well aware of the fact that the Sisterhood of Evil has been openly associating with… The Brotherhood of the Silver Spoon.
And, even disregarding Miss Calculated's signature glasses, one look at her actions versus Miss Chievous's current antics, it's a very easy guess which is which.
Furthermore, any local thief worth their salt is at least passingly familiar with Miss Chievous. All of this together, they are quite confident in their understanding of her identity, and therefore, power.
They are also equally confident in their assumptions that she is completely, utterly, smashed.
Putting all of this together, it's hardly a challenge to guess that she thinks she's using her powers to be invisible right now, even though she clearly isn't. Very, very clearly. Her constant quiet giggling doesn't enhance her stealth any further, either.
Minimizer seems to be infected by the spirit of mischief as well, chuckling as he watches her approach out of the corner of his eyes. Once she's just a few steps away, he suddenly uses his own powers, immediately shrinking himself down to the size of an ant.
After a slight delay, Miss Chievous jumps back and gasps, startled by someone other than her suddenly vanishing.
Minimizer is doubled over on the chair laughing hysterically, but thanks to the size change he isn't loud enough for her to hear.
At a far more audible level, Rewind, Freeze Frame, Miss Masher, and Jonathan have all snorted out choked-back laughter at her expense.
Still oblivious to the fact that everyone is watching her, Miss Chievous collects herself and continues on her self-imposed mission.
Reaching their table, she sneaks over to grab the pepper shaker, being extra careful not to disturb anything else. Once she has it held securely in place with her left hand, she cautiously unscrews the shaker lid on it with her right hand. She does so painstakingly slowly; so as not to make a sound, nor for the lid to make any distinctly visible movements.
Once the cap has been completely unscrewed, she then re-screws it slightly. She does it just enough so that when it is lifted up the cap won't come off immediately, hopefully staying in place until it is upturned for use.

Quietly giggling to herself over her successfully completed objective, she then releases the precisely prepared pepper prank and creeps back towards her own table.
Rewind is developing a bit of a flush from struggling to hold back his laughter as she slinks away. Freeze Frame isn't having much better luck than him, but at least he hasn't changed colors.
Miss Masher has snorted out a couple of laughs, but she is mostly fixated on defeating the last two spicy wings left before her.
Jonathan couldn't handle it any longer, leaving a gust of wind in his wake, he is now outside in front of the restaurant. He is in complete hysterics while leaning against the building's outer wall, off to the side of the front entrance.
"E-everyone… Everyone just lets it happen!?" Laughing to himself, Jonathan pauses his incredulous rhetorical question long enough to snort before continuing between additional laughter "Is-is it that common!?"
Even if her actions were completely seen through, she technically still accomplished her goal of amusing people, at least.
While Jonathan is busy getting his amusement out of his system, multiple pedestrians have gone out of their way to avoid the riotous teen, occasionally giving him an odd look.
While he's able to ignore their glances, after a few more moments of laughter he suddenly sobers up all at once. Quickly adopting an irritated expression, he then darts off down the sidewalk.
Back inside the restaurant, while on the subject of teenagers laughing like madmen, Minimizer has finally calmed down his hysterics. As amused as he was by Miss Chievous's antics, he decides to go mobile as well.
Expanding himself to be about two inches tall, he pulls out a pair of gloves from a pocket and tugs them on. The gloves extend a bit beyond his wrists, and are made of the same material as the enhanced suit he is wearing.
He quickly travels the long distance to the edge of the seat of his chair. After gaining a firm hold of the edge, he carefully eases himself down till he reaches the top of one of the legs. Climbing down a bit, once he manages to wrap his legs around the chair leg enough to have a bit of a grip on it, he loosens his hold enough to slide down in a controlled fall.
Once on the ground, he sits down and pulls out a tiny pair of detachable roller skates, expanding them up to the relevant size for his current usage pleasure. Once they're firmly attached to his shoes, he begins his journey towards the far wall past Lucas's party's table at an impressive speed. Well, in relation to his current size, at least.

Unexpectedly, he has to abruptly skid off to one side, as a marble of alarmingly large proportions to his current dimensions crashes down from above, only a short distance ahead of him.
Continuing his unexpectedly hazardous journey, he then has to suddenly veer off at another angle once again to avoid a gouged-out chip from the edge of one of the wooden planks of flooring.
Back up among the land of normal-sized people, Miss Chievous had taken a detour, rather than going back to her own seat. She's now standing by Miss Calculated's side, leaning over her arm to look down at her frantic scribblings, quietly giggling.
At first, Miss Calculated does her best to ignore her, but when her positioning shadows her writing to the extend that she can't comfortably read her work, she finally clears her throat.
"I know you're there, Chi." When Miss Calculated calls Miss Chievous out for her hovering, she gets a startled gasp in response.
Jonathan had perfect timing in his return, as he's adjusting his position on his seat he looks up in time to see the shocked and puzzled expression on Miss Chievous's face, causing him to burst out laughing again.
Miss Chievous takes a step back, still looking utterly baffled. Clearly, Miss Calculated has used her super-intelligence to piece clues together to determine her location, or even developed some new secondary power that lets her see through her invisibility, there couldn't possibly be any other explanation.
Poor Rewind and Freeze Frame had just about gotten their suppressed laughter under control before this happened. With this final straw, they've both finally surrendered and began openly laughing.
Miss Masher chuckles a few times as well, but it seems that she more or less anticipated this, so it had nowhere near the same degree of 'unexpected factor' for her.
Seeing that Miss Chievous seems to be wrapped up in her befuddlement, Jonathan smoothes out his laughter enough to pull something out of his pocket, holding it out to his side.
"H-hey, Chi. I have a pre-present for you, if you, um, pr-promise to behave." While Jonathan announces this, he immediately gains her undivided attention. The way he's holding his hand out makes it clear that he's holding something small, but with no indication as to what.
Miss Chievous rushes her way over to her original seat, stumbling twice along the way but remaining upright, somehow.
"Wha-hey! How come shhe getsh shomethin' an I donn't?" Lucas looks up while voicing his protestations, hitting the shooter marble harder than intended and sending all of the marbles scattered across the table like the opening shot of a game of snooker.
23 has freshly arrived to deliver a platter of appetizers for the Thieves of Elsewhere table, just in time to watch the rain of marbles firing off of the table from more clock positions than not.

Little character theater:
Jonathan, hesitating on actually giving the gift now that he stops to think about it: 'Wait a minute, this might be worse than just letting her wander around…'
Willy is currently staring at Lucas, trying to quietly express 'that was exactly why not.'
Lucas is now distracted by the marbles again, openly laughing at the mess he just made.
427 almost reconnects with Lucas just to yell at him after hearing about what he just did from 011, but ultimately decides against it.
Author, sitting on the edge of the theater stage, laughing hysterically: Why are all of you like this!? I didn't do this on purpose!
Mr. Quacks, sitting on the table in front of Jonathan, curiously staring at the secret object in his hand: Quack?

The Painter: A fantasy psych thriller and epic
*** June 21th Update ***- New chapters are being posted! I haven't figured out a schedule yet, but stay tuned!- Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed, I'm happy to say The Painter is in the top 200 best-rated fictions. - Readers of The Painter have suggested reading through Chapter 6 before making a decision on this book.- The story takes place in the Lootverse, but you don't need a canonical understanding to appreciate the storyFinally, a warning or reader beware: This is not an action novel (despite the coming fight scene) but a slow-burn psychological thriller of sorts. For a time, the Painter's life was simple. He lived in the small town of Kinon (called Kinney by locals) with his wife, Kahriah and his son, Thesdon. The story begins with him alone and unable to travel more than a few hundred miles from his home. For 5 years he tried to chart his prison until one day a letter appears with a mysterious commission that will see him test his condition and his boundary. Set roughly 50 years before the impending end of days (from Loot canon), The Painter is a story about loss, grit, and exploration of a seemingly normal man in a world of magic and monsters. The Painter will follow the man on his adventure to restore his family, uncover his commissioners and discover the nature of his condition. Loot is the decentralized, global, community built fantasy world based on Dom Hoffman's art/tech experiment: Loot. Fun fact: The cover of our book is painted by the artist, who the MC is loosely based on and the same person painting the Banners (digitally) IRL for an art/worldbuilding project.

The Paradox Prophecy
Thousands of years ago, an alliance between the races of Idoras and the mighty dragons, saved the world from destruction. After many years of relative peace, a dark evil emerges. Aalya, a young girl from the small kingdom of Avani, meets the young Prince Alexandar. When chaos reigns on their peaceful home, Aalya and her friends gear up for an adventure that could very well determine the fate of all life in Idoras. I haven't completely fleshed out the prophecy yet but I wanted to include it because it is an important part of the story. I have decided it would be better to spend some time figuring out the world I am creating and work out all the kinks in the story. I have done a lot of editing in the first seven chapters already. For now, updating will be scarce. I will post all of part one once I am happy with what I have written. I will leave what I have up, but please let me know what you think. I do not own the image I used for the cover.
