Supreme Lord Chapter 57

Everything had happened so fast and it was all too crazy that Qing Ning could not react at all.
Qing Ning was stupefied and she stood there like a statue with a dumbfounded expression on her face.
Everything that had happened was so insane that horrified her and made her extremely afraid.
Yes, afraid!
She didn’t know who Gu Qingfeng was. She did not know his name, or how high his cultivation was. She only knew that he was a little strange because he did not have any spiritual aura on him.
But no matter what, she did not expect that his body was so strong that he could make Huang Yao bleed out for all of his orifices with just one slap.
She did not expect that he was so strong that just one kick from him sent Li Qiandong flying with blood gushing out of his mouth and nose. Even now, he still couldn’t get up.
He casually disintegrated Mu Zibai’s sword and destroyed all of his fighting power with just one slap.
That was too strong and too insane!
Mu Zibai, the chief of the prime disciples in the Redcloud Sect had been beaten like a dog in under three breaths! However, what shocked her even more was that Mu Zibai’s Colored Spirit Protection had been destroyed by a single slap.
That was a Colored Spirit Protection that came from a Colored Foundation!
Even someone that had established his true body could not do anything to Mu Zibai when he had this protection around him!
Qing Ning was well aware of this because she had sparred with Mu Zibai and knew that his Colored Spirit Protection was like an impregnable fortress.
However, that impregnable fortress had been destroyed by one slap from Gu Qingfeng. What was even more shocking was that he had not used any spiritual force, and did it with just the strength of his body.
If she had not seen this with her own eyes, Qing Ning would’ve never believed that something like this happened.

Actually, even now after seeing it with her own eyes, she still found it hard to accept it.
At this moment, that white-robbed man stood calmly in front of her, and he resembled a solitary sword, but even more, a peak that was towering in the sky. His tenebrous eyes were like the stillness of a deep-sea and there was no trace of emotion on his face, as if everything that had happened had nothing to do with him.
He looked as if he was an outsider.
At his feet, the previous elegant and haughty Young Master Mu Zibai was paralyzed on the ground like a dead dog, with his clothes tattered and bleeding from his head, “I…I’m…from the Mu…family…my father is Mu…”
Before he could finish his sentence, he was kicked by Gu Qingfeng.
“If you…dare…to do something…to me…my father….my master….”
Bang!
He got kicked again.
Mu Zibai crawled on the ground and was scared out of his mind as he shouted, “Qing…Ning…save…me”
He could not finish his sentence because he got kicked again.
Every time he opened his mouth, he was kicked by Gu Qingfeng.
“Fellow daoist, h-he knows he was wrong. C-can you please let him go?” Daoist Qing Ning opened her mouth to plead for mercy.
Even though she knew that Mu Zibai was the one at fault, he was still her friend and she could not sit there watching how he died without doing anything to help him.
“Wrong?” Gu Qingfeng shook his head.
He had an expressionless face and an indifferent tone, “He’s not wrong for trying to fight over an ownerless thing, or for not thanking me for saving his life. He just has a deplorable character.”
Having said that, Gu Qingfeng kicked Mu Zibai again.
Qing Ning realized that Mu Zibai’s consciousness was already fading away so she started begging, “Fellow daoist, please, I beg of you…please forgive him. He really knows he is wrong.”
“I don’t care if he knows that he is wrong or not.” Gu Qingfeng kicked him again, “As for forgiveness, that’s Heaven’s business, not mine. I’m just doing what I want to do, and what I need to do.”

Gu Qingfeng was not a Bodhisattva or Buddha, so he had no compassion or benevolence.
He was not a Saint either so he was not lenient or forgiving.
Ever since he started cultivating, he had thought of himself as an ordinary person. This still remained true 500 years later after he had dominated the Immortal Dao, Devil Dao, and had become the Underworld Emperor. It was true in the past, the present and it will remain true in the future.
He was very simple.
If there was a person that wanted to beat him, he would beat that person.
If there was a person that wanted to kill him, he would kill that person.
If there was a person that angered him, he would beat that person until he felt better.
This applied to everyone, whether they were men, women, young, or old.
Gu Qingfeng did not stop and continued hitting Mu Zibai until he fainted, then he picked up the remaining shards, opened a stone door, and left.
He simply left.
Qing Ning had sat there a long time with a blank expression on her face, even after Gu Qingfeng had left. Throughout her life, she had never met such a strange and freakish man.
Looking at Mu Zibai, Li Qiandong, and Huang Yao who had fainted on the ground, she stopped thinking about Gu Qinfeng and went to heal them.
—
What did cultivation represent?
In the past, Gu Qingfeng believed that one cultivated in order to become an immortal, so he cultivated in the Immortal Dao.
However, after dominating the Immortal Dao, he had realized that it was just a bunch of nonsense so he cultivated in the Devil Dao.
But just like with the Immortal Dao, he came to the conclusion that the Devil Dao was also just a bunch of nonsense so he switched to the Heavenly Dao.
However, after becoming the Underworld Emperor, he discovered that the Heavenly Dao was also just a bunch of nonsense.
After going through so many things, he had realized that the only thing that mattered was one’s Dao Heart.
The Dao Heart was the core of everything.
This belief of his was strengthened even more after being judged by the Immortal Dao, Devil Dao, and the Heavenly Dao.
Gu Qingfeng’s Dao Heart was extremely simple and pure, and it was known as freedom.
He wanted to be as free as he could.
But what was freedom?
Freedom was the power to be happy if you wanted to be happy, or angry if you wanted to be angry.
Freedom was the power to smile if there was a reason to smile, or to vent off your anger if something made you furious.
This was freedom.
Those three kids disturbed his peace so he gave them a beating until his anger was gone.
He continued to wander inside the immortal cave and collected all the shards of the Amethyst Celestial Radiant Crystal and then he arrived inside a hall.
This hall was no different from the other ones inside the immortal cave, but Gu Qingfeng was a little hesitant standing in front of a stone door.
Behind this stone door was the strangest place in this immortal cave, the only place that he had not investigated with his spiritual stone when he entered the cave.
Gu Qingfeng thought that the core of this immortal cave should be behind that stone door.
He was also certain that the monster sealed by Mahamayuri’s Ubiquitous Seal was also hiding behind the stone door.
All the mechanisms on the stone door had been forcefully destroyed, and the door was also vaguely covered. Gu Qingfeng assumed that this was the handiwork of that monster.
After thinking for a moment, Gu Qingfeng opened the stone door and walked in.

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
