The Legendary Rebuilding of a World by a Realist Demon King Chapter 62
The Giant Toad
As we headed towards the fifth layer, I saw that it was covered in shallow water, just like Hanzo had said.
It was like a vast lake where the water only went up to your knees.
Apparently, this was the sort of environment that kelpie liked, or at least, allowed them to thrive.
I was even more worried about Yuri now.
I rushed towards them, but the sight that greeted us was most unexpected.
Yuri was no longer carrying any bags.
He had a short sword in his hand and was moving about.
He even matched the kelpie, which was quick in the water, no, he was even faster, as he attacked it.
The kelpie let out a pained shriek as its skin split open. But he continued his merciless attacks.
The kelpie attacked with its tail. It came so hard that it would have probably broken the bones of a troll.
However, the boy dodged it easily.
There was a loud bang and water flew in the air, but the boy calmly found his target through the splash, and then attacked again.
Jayce, the leader of the Adventurers, watched this in amazement.
“…As-astonishing. It this really Yuri the coward?”
The Sorceress watched the scene and said,
“Huh, he’s much stronger than you, Jayce.”
And the Warrior,
“Hey, hey. Is this real…”
I heard them and then spoke.
“This is Yuri’s true power. It seemed like you tormented him much. Perhaps he’ll get his revenge.”
Their faces went pale. I was very much amused.
It would be no more than they deserved, but I knew that this boy was kind-hearted.
He would show his power and save them. And then he would go right back to being their servant.
Of course, his position in the group would still improve. He wouldn’t be forced to carry their belongings.
Yes, that was for sure.
Yuri had overwhelmed the kelpie and was ready to deal the final blow.

His expression even changed.
His eyes were full of determination.
He looked like a man.
Yuri dodged the kelpie’s attack, rolled forward and used his momentum to land a blow straight between the kelpie’s eyes.
A savage attack. A deadly move.
The kelpie flailed around wildly, but its brain was destroyed.
And like that, the giant body crashed to the ground.
Then his comrades began to praise him, but Yuri’s expression looked severe.
He wasn’t angry that they had suddenly changed their tune.
It was because he knew that an even bigger threat was approaching.
“Mister Jayce, run!!”
Just as Yuri shouted this, a gigantic mass fell from the ceiling of the fifth layer.
The thing had a long tongue that stuck out. And then it ate the kelpie, which was the size of a hippopotamus.
“It-it just swallowed it whole!?”
Jayce said in horror.
It was a creature whose mouth seemed to be the same size as its body…
The giant creature that looked like a toad now glared towards us.
If it could eat kelpies, which were half mammal and half fish, then it could probably eat humans.
It looked at us with hunger in its eyes.
Then the tongue moved towards the Warrior.
It wrapped around the man in an instant, and just as it began to pull him in toward its mouth, Jayce found his courage and slashed at the tongue with his sword.
And so the Warrior was saved.
“…Yuri isn’t the only fighter here. I have experience!”
He growled. And then he charged towards the giant toad.
The Sorceress saw this and supported him with a volley of fireballs. The Monk began to free the wounded Warrior.
‘You guys…’ Yuri muttered as he saw this. He seemed to have found this all very touching.
Of course, he also immediately ran in to support Jayce, which was further proof that he was competent.
I also considered attacking the giant toad, but then thought better of it. I decided to support them instead.

As we were safe, I could chant at my leisure.
It wasn’t the usual short one, but a proper one.
‘O power of water, filled with tranquility,
Surround those with courage!
Water Barrier!’
When it was done, a layer of water surrounded all of the members of Yuri’s party.
As long as these barriers were up, the giant toad’s tongue would slip away from them.
And it could also block the toad’s attacks.
When the Monk was hit by the toad’s body slam, it was clear that he saw his impending death. And yet he received little damage, much to his surprise.
“Wh-what is this?”
He said in puzzlement.
Yuri explained.
“It’s the support of that great Sorcerer over there. He is using support magic.”
He pointed at me.
“I see. I am grateful then.”
The Monk bowed.
And then I said to them,
“It will save you from most of its attacks, but I wouldn’t allow it to crush you with its body. Be wary of its jumping attack.”
After I said this, the giant toad did exactly what I had predicted.
They were able to dodge the attack, but they now looked at me as if I were some kind of prophet.
“No, unfortunately. I’m just a Sorcerer.”
I muttered while looking at Yuri.
I considered casting support magic that would raise the party’s attack ability, but then I thought that it would be better to focus on Yuri.
And so I added a thunder attribute to Yuri’s short sword.
His blade now crackled with electricity.
It would now do significantly more damage.
Yuri gasped.
“Thi-this is amazing! What is it!?”
I explained.
“It is thunder magic. It is well-known that water creatures are weak to thunder.”
Yuri nodded with understanding and then shouted.
“Eat this attack from Mister Ashta!!”
Yuri shouted. While it didn’t seem like the giant toad was intimidated by it, it did seem to hesitate.
Perhaps it was confused that its attacks were being made ineffective by the defense magic.
And while it was confused, Yuri pierced its stomach with his sword.
At the same time, the lightning magic was unleashed, dealing immense damage to the giant toad.
The giant, boulder-like toad roared and then fell to the ground.
Jayce and the others saw this and cheered.
They ran to Yuri with warm words, but that turned out to be a mistake.
Because the giant toad was not actually dead.
Pure anger allowed it to rise suddenly, and then it let out a torrent of strong acid from its stomach.
It had used this attack for the first time.
The water barriers could not defend against the acid entirely, and so I used teleportation magic to move forward and pick up the boy.
Once I had moved him to safety, I said,
“You’re quite a strong monster. But you’ve chosen the wrong enemy to fight. If you are ever reborn, choose to be a tree frog and live in the fields.”
And in the next instant, I activated magic with my hand.
It was thunder magic. Lightning Bolt.
It appeared where there was nothing and hit its target perfectly.
This time, the giant toad was truly dead…I think.
Its skin was burned and it lay on its back without moving.
The others seemed to realize it as well, and they exploded with joy.
“In-incredible. What a Sorcerer…”
“You were great Yuri, but this Sorcerer was even stronger!”
The Sorceress turned to me and bowed her head. ‘Please take me on as your apprentice.’
It seemed that trust and respect had been earned in this battle today.
For both me and Yuri.
I returned to Eve as they showered me with praise.
‘I knew you would win.’ Jeanne said as she nibbled on some dried meat.
‘Good work.’ Eve said as she accepted my coat.
And that was how we defeated the guardian of the fifth layer.

Highest rank in teen fiction #7Highest rank in #boyfriend #2Started 28th August 2016 COMPLETED 8th January 2017Not edited(update - I wrote this book when I was 14/15 so I do apologise for any misspelling or mistakes in the book)Olivia Valentine wants revenge on her ex boyfriend, Aaron Black, who cheated on her with, as Liv would like to call her, the blonde haired bimbo who is only popular for her fake boobs, and what better way to get revenge than to date the one and only Cole Williams, the hot school bad boy, who girls swoon over and who Aaron Black just happens to envy. Oh fake date that is.Olivia Valentine, the girl who isn't labeled, by which I mean she is not called the nerd, the slut, the normal student, nor is she the most popular girl in the school, she is just Liv. Many boys fancy her, whilst many girls envy her. Olivia Valentine has it all, the pretty looks, the long silky hair and an extremely rich mother, despite all this, she is most definitely not a horrible, snobby, stuck-up cow, if anything, she is the exact opposite.Okay, so now add Cole Williams into the picture. Cole Williams, the one who is definitely labeled, the one labeled as the hot school bad boy. He practically has every girl just dropping at his feet and he is constantly getting into fights with other jocks. Like Liv, he also comes from a rich family, which is probably one of the reasons why he is an arrogant, cocky, self-obsessed hottie. But deep down he might just have a heart of gold.Liv and Cole have never really spoken because of Aaron, but surely when it comes to getting revenge on Aaron Black, the two can make Parties, high school drama, fights, kisses, cat fights.Your classic teen fiction.
