Chapter 1105
Fang Hong had heard a lot of stories about Jiang Chen . Each of them was quite surprising . But he thought this was only because of Jiang Chen’s background . If he had been any of the junior Heavenly Kings, none of the things he had achieved would have been so surprising . It was only because he was from the Realm of Nine Heavens that people had thought so little of him . In the end, the big contrast between their expectations and the facts turned out to be quite dramatic .
Fang Hong was not very happy about it . He thought Jiang Chen was just seeking publicity . In his eyes, the latter was nothing but a clown .
“You defeated the top three of the Human List and a Wizard warrior . That’s your biggest achievement . However, almost every disciple here could achieve that . I guess you won’t have the nerve to blow yourself up here to bomb the Sword God Palace, will you?” Fang Hong said complacently . He was excited about disclosing Jiang Chen’s true colors .
However, Jiang Chen was not annoyed at all . Instead, he felt confused . “You don’t hate me because my state is too low, but because you are jealous of my fame?” Jiang Chen revealed his thoughts .
“Jealous of you? I’m an elite of the Sword God Palace . I’m jealous of you?” Fang Hong was really pissed . He was very angry .
“Elite? Where is the elite?” Looking around, Jiang Chen totally ignored the man in front of him .
“Damn it! Take my sword!” Fang Hong could not put up with him anymore . Unsheathing his sword, he threw it over toward Jiang Chen .
“So, it’s allowed to fight in the Sword God Palace . Great . I’ll exercise a little then . ” Jiang Chen’s left hand did not move, but the Red Cloud Sword unsheathed itself . The man and the sword turned into one . They were working in perfect coordination . His swordplay was natural and unforced .
In a place like the Sword God Palace, which was full of swordsmen, this alone caught many peoples’ attentions .
However, Fang Hong’s style was quite intimidating also . The two rose into the air as if they had a tacit understanding . When the two swords met, a dreadful ambience filled the area . The fact that Fang Hong had the nerve to challenge Jiang Chen meant he was not weak . He was a seven-star strongman working on two qi at the same time, and he had mastered a clear sword spirit .

As the most popular disciple of the Wind Department, his sword movement was extremely fast and threatening . It was almost as good as Break the Rule with a Single Sword Attack .
“Wind Extreme Sword Spirit!”
“Near Gale Sword Movement!”
His sword momentum, sword movement, and sword spirit were all very pure .
Jiang Chen stopped despising him . The movement of the Heavenly Fault Sword kept changing . He exerted the Idealistic Sword Doctrine . There were as if thousands of swords fighting with each other in the air, layer upon layer, shadow upon shadow .
“You want to resist my sword . Dream on!” Fang Hong’s attack was extremely fierce and overwhelming . He kept pushing Jiang Chen .
Jiang Chen’s swords were moving very fast to resist his rival’s sword . His defense was flawless .
The fight in the air caught the attention of the whole Sword God Palace . Many people looked up to watch .
“This Jiang Chen is quite average . ” This was most people’s reaction . It was not because he was at a disadvantage, but because Fang Hong was not in a high position in the Sword God Palace .
“That’s all you have?” Jiang Chen, who had not launched any attack, suddenly asked .
Fang Hong, looking for Jiang Chen’s flaws, was staggered at his question . Then, smiling coldly without speaking, he thought Jiang Chen was just trying to distract him .
“Wind and Fire Swords Wheel, On!”
But to his surprise, Jiang Chen drew the Red Cloud Sword out . The tide turned immediately .
“Two sword realms of lore? And he has achieved the fourth level?” Some proud disciples of the Sword God Palace had stopped watching the fight, but their attentions were caught by Jiang Chen’s two hands and two swords once again . The practicing body Lu Ping had been working hard lately . His lore of wind had improved to the fifth level from the second level . Together with the lore of fire and the Idealistic Sword Doctrine, his Wind and Fire Sword Realm had also leveled up .
The wind and the fire swept over and cracked Fang Hong’s attack, pushing him into a corner .
“Swords Wheel!”
Overlaid, the two swords were thrown over together . It was a less powerful version of Wind and Fire Swords Wheel, but it defeated Fang Hong just the same .
“Huh, interesting . ” Someone murmured . Jiang Chen had piqued everyone’s interest .

Back in the square, Fang Hong restrained himself after the loss, but he was still not convinced . As Jiang Chen had pointed out, he did not think Jiang Chen deserved the fame he had achieved, although now Jiang Chen had defeated him .
“Let’s wait and see . There are lots of people in the Sword God Palace who can defeat you . ”
Then Fang Hong turned around to leave .
“Did I say you could go?” Jiang Chen smiled coldly . The blades of wind and fire in his hands turned to a long whip . It wound around Fang Hong’s ankles and pulled him down onto the ground . Then it drew him back .
“Apologize to my apprentice younger brother,” Jiang Chen said in a cold tone .
“What if I don’t?”
Lying on the ground disgracefully, Fang Hong asked . He was furious .
“If you don’t, I’ll kill you . ” Jiang Chen flicked his fingers . There was a small mysterious flame between his fingers, which could fall at any minute .
Fang Hong felt extremely cold . He had a strong sense of danger . If it had been others who said this in the Sword God Palace, he would have mocked them . However, this was Jiang Chen .
Instantly, the rumors that he had never believed came into his head . He was scared out of his wits .
“I can’t hold my temper for very long . ” Jiang Chen said . His fingers were slightly shaking . The evil flame could be emitted anytime .
“I apologize . ” Swallowing his saliva, Fang Hong got to his feet to apologize to Lin Yu .
Lin Yu was dumbfounded . However, he was also apparently excited, although he was trying hard to cover his excitement .
“Get lost!”
Jiang Chen extinguished the evil flame and let Fang Hong leave .
Fang Hong ran away immediately .
Those who had been speaking sarcastically on the square all shut up . They looked toward the two in awe .
“Apprentice Elder Brother Jiang Chen, he will find people to avenge him . ” It occurred to Lin Yu suddenly, although he was feeling good .
“Yeah? What’s his rank?” Jiang Chen asked out of curiosity .
“Rank?” Lin Yu did not understand what he meant .
“Oh? So, how do you judge who is better and who is worse? You can’t be using state as the standard . ” Jiang Chen found his reaction strange .
“Apprentice elder brother, there is no ranking in the Sword God Palace, because the academy doesn’t approve of practicing for ranks . But we have our own system to evaluate the students . There are divine, dragon, ghost, tiger, and wolf levels . This is the internal system of the academy . Students in different phases get different treatments . Fang Hong is a wolf level . ”
“The lowest?” Jiang Chen was surprised .
“Yes . ”
Jiang Chen curled his lip . The pleasure of winning vanished right away . It turned out he had just defeated a person of the lowest level .
“Apprentice elder brother, not everyone can be a wolf level as soon as they get here . We have to pass an exam too,” Lin Yu hurried to explain after seeing his reaction .
“So, the Human List, the Earth List, and the Heaven List mean nothing here?” Jiang Chen asked .
“Those three lists have age limits . And only 300 people can be ranked on them . It’s far less than enough . Of course, those ranked on the lists are incredible indeed . ”
“Looks like I’ve got a lot to learn . ” Jiang Chen exclaimed . Then he asked Lin Yu the most important question—Why did he stand on Jiang Chen’s side?
“Because I thought none of the most popular departments wanted apprentice elder brother, so you would probably join our department,” Lin Yu told him the reason .
“Which department are you in?”
“The Thunder Department . ”
Jiang Chen was surprised at his answer . Thunder methods were usually very strong, but Lin Yu did not look like a practitioner of thunder methods .
Then he tumbled to the fact that they were in the Sword God Palace . It was exactly because thunder methods were strong that no martial doctrine could subdue them . There had never been things like sword realm of thunder . As a result, the Thunder Department was quite unpopular in the Sword God Palace . Lin Yu was the only student in this department . He was not even at wolf level . People certainly would bully him .
“All right . So, I’ll join the Thunder Department,” Jiang Chen said .

(I'm taking some time off to rewrite certain scenes and improve the quality of my writing. I'll restart updating the fiction once done it.) Update: at the moment, I don't feel like continuing this story. I'm working on another one in my free time, thus I don't know if I will ever come back to Ereborus. A mercenary has recently arrived at the festive city of Soldra in search of a job, but little do they know that a catastrophe will soon strike the city, causing multiple deaths. The mercenary is among the victims of the disaster. Or maybe not. They wake up again in a dilapidated Soldra where strange creatures now roam around freely. Will they survive in this post-catastrophic scenery and understand what really happened? Disclaimer/Trigger Warning: In future, there will be scenes with gore, graphic deaths and animal cruelty. Moreover, considering that the mc is a non-binary mercenary, cases of PTSD and misgendering may be included. If you are too sensitive to these topics, this story isn't for you. ━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Hello dear visitors! [Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
