Chapter 1696: The Celestial Palace Will Not Swallow Any Insults!
The voting lasted three days. It ended when all Supreme Venerables had made their decisions. And it was decided that Jiang Chen would be exiled.
He would be forbidden to return to the Boundless Continent eternally.
His descendants, including collateral descendants, would be banned from the Boundless Continent as well.
When the decision had been made, a lavish lineup from the Sacred Institute came to the Celestial Palace, including Ye Qiu, the first-chair Supreme Venerable of the Sacred Institute, Stepping Heavenward Venerable Monster, Extraordinary Supreme Venerable from the Realm of Monster and Jian Yi, the strongest human swordsman.
And of course, that annoying Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable.
In addition to these four, more Supreme Venerables were waiting outside the Celestial Palace.
If Jiang Chen refused to obey, they would play hardball with him.
This was the decision made by all races.
If Jiang Chen refused to cooperate with them, he would antagonize all races.
Ye Qiu felt relieved after learning what Jiang Chen thought.
“I believe you will have the strength to amaze all races. By then, the exile will be nothing but a joke,” Ye Qiu said to him through voice transmission.
“However, the Sovereign Soul Palace requires you to take a blood oath.”
A blood oath?!
Jiang Chen and Xiao Nuo were surprised. They had not expected that.
In Jiang Chen’s eyes, exile was just like going to another place to take adventures.
“If you have no problem with the Sacred Institute’s decision and agree to leave the Boundless Continent, isn’t it normal to take a blood oath?”
The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable taunted, “Or, maybe, you are just pretending to obey, but actually you intend to trample on the Sacred Institute’s dignity.”
He still remembered the humiliation brought by that sword attack of Jiang Chen.
“Jiang Chen won’t take any blood oath,” said Xiao Nuo coldly.
“Huh, it’s not up to him. Neither is it up to you.”
Gazing at the unparalleled female Venerable Sovereign, the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable did look scared of her, but he did not show any respect.
“The Sovereign Soul Palace has the strength to threaten the world. But don’t forget one thing. I have the strength, too. Do you want to have a try?” Xiao Nuo looked at him, releasing her majestic power.

The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable was forced to take several steps back. He looked extremely embarrassed.
“The rumor is true. She is really that strong.”
Ye Qiu and Stepping Heavenward Venerable Monster were shocked.
“Red Cloud Venerable, we hold your majestic power in awe, but no matter what, Jiang Chen started all of this first.”
Jian Yi tried to keep a calm tone.
“I will in no way take a blood oath. I’ll leave the Boundless Continent for now, but I’ll come back one day. If anyone is not happy with me by then, just come to see me.”
Even gods could not ignore blood oaths.
From another angle, it was more imperative for gods to keep to a blood oath because they valued an innocent conscience.
“You are trampling on the Sacred Institute’s dignity!” the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable said in anger.
“Yes. So what?” Jiang Chen said proudly.
“Peh! You are in no position to speak to me in such an arrogant manner. Without the woman next to you, you would have knelt down here!” said the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable in anger.
“You don’t have a woman like me by your side. What a pity.”
Xiao Nuo stood up to approach him. “Jiang Chen is after all the Celestial Palace’s vice leader. I won’t allow you to be rude to him!”
Then she was going to launch an attack.
Ye Qiu smiled bitterly. He had anticipated this.
“Without a blood oath, the Sovereign Soul Palace will retain the right to kill you as an act of revenge.”
He said while gesturing to Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen stopped Xiao Nuo despite her reluctance. He nodded at Ye Qiu. “Okay. I agree.”
The Sovereign Soul Palace would attack him anyway as long as they saw him.
“Jiang Chen, please consider your decision carefully. The Sovereign Soul Palace has asked to send you into exile and demanded you to take a blood oath because they want you to be isolated.”
Stepping Heavenward Venerable Monster hurried to say, “Long Xing is dead, but according to the information the Sacred Institute has, the Sovereign Soul Palace still has at least three strong men who are not weaker than Long Xing at all.”

“It’s impossible.”
Xiao Nuo did not believe him. She said, “I didn’t see anyone like that the other day.”
“Because Monster God stopped them,” Stepping Heavenward Venerable Monster said.
“Red Cloud Venerable, you are strong, indeed. However, in Extraordinary Supreme Venerable’s leveling system, there are stronger ones,” Jian Yi said.
“What kind of people are they?” asked Xiao Nuo.
“People who have mastered the Godlike Martial Doctrine.”
It would create a big disturbance if word got out.
The Godlike Martial Doctrine was a legend circulated for five hundred years.
A human’s practice could not bypass the Martial Doctrine.
The Martial Doctrine contained many things, from palm and fist attacks that did not rely on weapons to sword and knife attacks that could reach perfection.
No matter what you practiced, you needed to find your own way, namely, your doctrine, and behave accordingly to surpass the majority of the people living in the world.
Looking back into history, those who could challenge people in higher states were all geniuses who had mastered outstanding Martial Doctrine.
Take the Sword Doctrine, which was the most common, for example.
It was necessary to master the Sword Point, the Sword Spirit, the Explicit Sword Spirit and the Will of the Sword Doctrine.
Those who mastered the Will of the Sword Doctrine could be called master swordsmen.
On a scale from one to five, the Will of the Sword Doctrine was classified into different levels.
However, the breakthrough from level five to level six marked a significant change.
Those who realized this breakthrough would be called Sword God!
It was the same with the Godlike Martial Doctrine, except that it was a general name, regardless of what specific martial arts technique was involved.
It was said the Sacred Institute had made an inference.
Extraordinary Supreme Venerables who mastered the Godlike Martial Doctrine, even if they were not Divine Kings, would still be world-class powerhouses.
“Long Xing was an example, and his Will of the Martial Doctrine was probably approaching level nine.”
The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable said, “But he died because of you somehow. This is a big loss for the Black Yellow Great World!”
“The Godlike Martial Doctrine? World-class powerhouse?” Jiang Chen murmured.
He realized he had only known the world superficially since his reappearance in the world after the three years of seclusion.
Those races had progressed more than he had imagined.
“His Excellency, the Monster God, is a world-class powerhouse. A world war was avoided because he meddled in to stop those old freaks from the Sovereign Soul Palace,” said Stepping Heavenward Venerable Monster.
Jiang Chen did believe him.
“The Red Cloud Venerable is also a world-class powerhouse, but she is alone,” Ye Qiu made his point.
Without Xiao Nuo’s protection, if Jiang Chen left the Boundless Continent without taking a blood oath, he would face an even more threatening crisis.
“I see. World-class powerhouses, but so what?” Jiang Chen insisted on not taking a blood oath.
“Arrogant. Don’t you know why you can stand here speaking?” the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable said in a sarcastic tone.
“Jiang Chen, don’t stop me.”
Xiao Nuo’s look was resolute. She was going to teach the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable a lesson.
“Red Cloud Venerable, us Wizards have world-class powerhouses, too. Even if you trample me underfoot, all you’ll get is more enemies.” The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable was scared of her indeed.
“So what?”
Xiao Nuo’s response was similar to Jiang Chen’s. Even their looks were alike.
“They are a couple indeed,” Ye Qiu exclaimed.
“Xiao Nuo.”
Jiang Chen walked ahead to stop Xiao Nuo.
“Didn’t I tell you not to stop me?” Xiao Nuo said unhappily.
The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable was too annoying. She had to teach him a lesson.
“This is Ling Long Celestial Palace.”
Jiang Chen ignored her. Instead, he looked at the Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable.
“Yeah, I know.” The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable shrugged.
“I’m the vice leader of the Celestial Palace.”
“Yeah?” The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable looked disdainful.
“The Celestial Palace won’t swallow any insults! Who allowed you to run amuck here?!” Jiang Chen shouted.
“Hey! What do you want then?” The Wizard Extraordinary Supreme Venerable threw him a provocative look, thinking apart from resorting to a woman, what else could you do to me?
“Kneel down to apologize. Otherwise, I’ll break your legs!”

This is my first attempt at writing a story. I am a complete beginner at this. The closest thing to an organized story I’ve ever written is essay reports back in high school. There might be syntax errors and weird language all over the place. So, apologies in advance. I’ll be trying my best to make this story as interesting as possible, and with your feedback I am sure I can make something nice out of it. Constructive criticism is appreciated. And you are welcome to comment any errors you might notice. I’ll try to fix them up as soon as I can. For now, I don’t have a schedule. But if the story gets traction, I will try to work something out. **Cover Image Drawn by me.
