Battling Records of the Chosen One Chapter 50: A Turtledove Takes over the Nest of a Magpi
As if made of gold, the huge claws stuck out of the ground, shading the sky!
At that moment, even Lin Xun got so shocked that he felt cold all over his body. What on earth was that?
However, only in a moment, the golden claw and light disappeared. Everything recovered its previous state and even the earth didn’t shake any more.
It was so abrupt that Lin Xun could never expect it. How did the terrifying thing happen?
Lin Xun didn’t run his horse forward until he regained peace, and became more cautious than previously.
As expected, the Three Thousand Mountains were drastically risky. He had been caught up with such a horrifying situation, which was probably caused by a monster, when he was just less than five hundred kilometers away from Feiyun Village.
Having run another five kilometers, he saw the trail of a hill cracking, with many rocks weighing from tens of thousands of kilograms to hundreds of thousands of kilograms scattering among it.
The region was also extremely depressing and desolate with a scorched and lifeless surface of no grass, which formed a distinguished contrast with the forests far away which were flourishing with various plants.
Lin Xun remembered the huge golden claw was sticking out of the region but he couldn’t be certain of where on earth it came from.
After arriving here, the horse became unsettled again with its hooves shaking, seemingly paralyzed and was about to fall down.
A shock grew in Lin Xun’s heart, too. He dared not hang about and chose a roundabout to avoid this region carefully instead.
After running miles away, the shock in his heart finally died down. And the horse got its peace back as well.
“That was weird.” Pondering for a long while, Lin Xun still couldn’t figure out what happened. Shaking his head, he had to keep moving.
Until late in the afternoon, when the night was about to fall, there appeared a raging river with roaring waves, running among the mountains.
The waves were dyed jacinth like burning blood under the sunset, which was gorgeous.
Lin Xun got off from the horse and came to the riverbank. He found a safe place near a pile of rocks and intended to rest there for a night before restarting his journey tomorrow morning.
Having captured two fishes in the river, Lin Xun set up a campfire and began to prepare himself dinner, with his horse leaning lazily sideways and snoring comfortably.
The atmosphere was extraordinarily peaceful.
Meantime, a group of people were walking quickly five kilometers away. The head was a youngster wearing a gorgeous coat, with a pair of narrow eyes and an eagle-shaped nose, who projected a cold killing aura.

There were more than ten strong persons around him, each of whom seemed brilliant. Among them, there was an old man in gray in particular, whose eyes were sharp like purple lightening and whose breaths were deep like dark abyss, extremely terrifying.
However, his face was a little white. What's more, there was a scaring wound on his shoulder, with skin cut open and flesh torn out, nearly showing a white bone .
Although the scar had already stopped bleeding, there were rain-like golden lights burning on it, making the scar unable to heal.
“Thanks to Master Xing Teng, we finally took away the invaluable treasure from the beast. After I return home, I'll ask for rewards for your meritorious deeds from my father!”
The youngster in front suddenly burst into laughter, full of excitement and pride.
“My Childe, I’m really flattered.”
The old man in gray said with a forced smile. His face was white and the scar on his shoulder was burning in the golden fire. With his eyebrows locked, it was apparent that he was oppressing the pain.
“Master, you sure you are okay?”
The youngster asked with concern.
“Although the power of ‘the Burning of the Mysterious Magpie’ is unbelievably diabolic, I would recover from it given some time. However, I couldn’t fly now, which delayed your trip.”
The old man apparently showed great respect to the youngster, with his words full of modesty.
“It doesn’t matter. Moreover, we might be found by the beast if we fly. The aftermath would be beyond imagination.”
The youngster suddenly recalled something at the time and couldn’t help laughing complacently, saying, “Master, do you think this is the ‘Peerless Treasure’ mentioned by the Flamen at the Observatory of the Forbidden City?”
Xing Teng thought for a while and answered, “My Childe, maybe you are right as far as I’m concerned, for the origin of the treasure is mysterious and it ought not belong to the beast.”
The youngster laughed, saying, “Nevertheless, this time the ‘Peerless Treasure’ has attracted lots of eminent people in the Forbidden City to the Three Thousand Mountains, which could be called as a gathering of the strongest and most powerful people, and caught the eyes of the whole world. However, the treasure was attained by us now and they were doomed to get nowhere!”
Xing Teng frowned and suggested, “My Childe, please pay attention to your words. We have to keep quite about this in case others will come to take it away from us.”
The youngster nodded his head, saying, “Yeah, yeah, you are right.”
In a while, a coldness flashed by in his eyes. Glancing at the group of the attendants, he said, “Did you hear what Master Xing Teng just said? From now on, nobody is allowed to speak about this and I will be relentless to whoever lets it out!”

The fellows hurried to reply “yes”.
It wasn’t long before a vast long river appeared in their vision.
“My Childe, it’s already dark. How about resting here and continuing our journey tomorrow?”
Xing Teng suddenly asked.
“Alright.”
Pondering for a while, the youngster approved. Equipped with a fighting power at the level of Spiritual Sea Realm, Xing Teng was the strongest among them. However, he suffered some injuries now and asked for a rest, the youngster surely couldn’t refuse it.
"My Childe, it seems somebody is there!”
At this moment, a fellow said aloud, pointing at the opposite bank of the river where a burning campfire could be seen far away.
Immediately, the group of people got intense, for whoever dared to walk in the Three Thousand Mountains couldn’t be common.
Besides, now many top people came here for the “Peerless Treasure”. Their situation would be not that good if they encountered one of them.
“Stay calm. It’s just a boy at the forth level of Martial Realm.”
Xing Teng took a glance and immediately figured out the situation, saying casually.
“Oh, let’s go to check it out.”
Feeling eased immediately, the youngster led the group to cross the river by performing flying skills.
As Xing Teng said, it was a teenager at the age of thirteen to fourteen with worn clothes made of coarse linen, which looked too shabby in the eyes of the group although it was clean and neat.
The boy was of course Lin Xun.
He also noticed someone approaching him just now. Seeing the group of people heading for him now, he was also shocked in the heart.
If he was right, nearly everyone in the group was at the Gang Spirit Realm, and surrounded by strands of Gang Spirit.
It must be correct.
And the aura of the old man in gray was even more horrifying!
Seeing such a group of people showing up in the wild made Lin Xun inevitably cautious.
“Ha, it seemed to be a young aborigine living in these Mountains.”
The youngster glanced at Lin Xun and snorted with a disdainful look, and then said while waving his hands, “Kiddy, we are about to rest here for a night. If you are clever, go away now. I’m in a good mood today, so you can just go without trouble.”
His attendants couldn’t help laughing out.
The old man in gray frowned, but said nothing at last. It was just a boy who wasn’t worth much attention.
“Thank……thank you.”
With a look of reverence and awe, Lin Xun stammered and walked away with his horse swiftly.
Seeing his cowardly respond, the group of people burst into laughter again.
“As expected, he was a timid turtle, green and inexperienced. Just a few words of our Childe made him flee away. Ha ha ha.”
An attendant flattered the Childe, which made the youngster laugh and say, “The little turtle is smart, for knowing he would be punished if he didn’t go away. But……he was too coward.”
“My Childe, this is far from the truth. Even with much more bravery, the little turtle could only escape after seeing you.”
In an instant, the flattering words flooded in, making the youngster laugh consistently.
Only Xing Teng frowned but he had no solution. The youngster was the eldest son of Liu Wujun, the governor of southwest province in the empire, whose status was extremely high and even Xing Teng dared not say another word.
They didn’t notice at all that Lin Xun stopped running and climbed on a big tree, casting his cold eyes like stars on the riverbank miles away.
At this moment, there wasn’t a shock in his face at all, and he recovered his calm and indifference, with a huge bow made of white bones in his hand.
In fact, Lin Xun was very angry although he retreated when he was insulted and expelled by the group of people.
But there were no better ways because his level was inferior to theirs. If fighting face to face, he would be killed like throwing straws against the wind.
“Really a shame”
Lin Xun murmured to himself. He knew it clearly that there was no chance to attack them even if he waited there, but he was very reluctant to go away without doing anything.
At the time, the earth was shaking violently far away. Meantime, a golden light, which was very brilliant, rose from a remote place and tore off the darkness.
That was the huge claw he had seen before!
Lin Xun gazed at it at once, and then an odd smile appeared at the corners of his mouth, for where the claw appeared was the riverbank!
Those guys were going to suffer!
Lin Xun nearly laughed out. God blessed.
He jumped from the tree swiftly and approached the riverbank lightly as wind.
Lin Xun wondered whether those guys would suffer and, at the same time, he was very curious about what on earth the huge claw was.
In a while, Lin Xun stopped and was shocked.
An extremely large golden monster, as huge as a mountain, finally appeared in his sight. It was running under the night sky, with golden light shining all over his body, which even lit the sky.

This is the story of some unwilling trespassers, taken from their lives against their will and thrown into situations they barely understand. This is the story of some unfortunate Scyrians, their lives blown apart by the newcomers’ sudden and destabilizing existence. This is the story of Scyria, a world with a lost past buried beneath millenia. But as both the Earthlings and Scyrians are about to find out, sometimes the past doesn’t stay buried forever... I marked the story as having Gore, Sexual Content, and Traumatising content because it does contain a bit of all three, though not what I believe is a significant amount. Just wanted to be safe. It does contain a whole lot of profanity, though. That one is very much deserved.
