Battling Records of the Chosen One Chapter 166: Being Eliminated Pitifully
The saber roar swept over like tide, leaving a direct impact on people’s hearts.
The power of RFS (Reaching for the Stars) this time became more formidable.
It was not just a normal battle technique at all. It was an inheritance which could deter people’s hearts; upon the utilization of the cultivation strength in a unique way, it could produce totally different power.
In the instant, that Barbarian Soldier was overcome with horror, and was in a trance, as if he was trapped in the eternal darkness. A scene unfolded before him: stars were burning and falling; everything in the world was crumbling; Heaven and Earth was in chaos.
Despair and terror were eroding his mind and soul like tide as if they wanted to drag him into the abyss.
Immediately, a ray of saber radiance showed up in the darkness out of nowhere. The Barbarian Soldier felt a sharp pain over all his body and subconsciously struggled to avoid it with his full strength.
Puff!
A visible deep wound expanding from his chest to his waist was left, with thick scarlet blood pouring out like a waterfall.
If he hadn’t dodged aside timely, he would have ended up being disemboweled.
He screamed. Though he avoided the fatal strike, he hit the ground hard more than 33 meters away. His face was ghastly pale as if he just brushed past the Death.
Terror and panic spread all over his body, leaving him frozen for a moment as if he fell into a trance because of scare. This strike was too horrendous and unexpected, causing a heavy blow to his soul.
It was beyond his imagination that a human teenager at the Martial Realm could launch such an unimaginatively terrifying strike.
“No. 3!” another Barbarian Soldier yelled in anger. Instead of chasing Lin Xun, he flashed and came up to his injured companion.
Lin Xun, who had originally wanted to kill that Barbarian Soldier at one fling, stopped immediately, knowing that he had missed the opportunity.
At the moment, Lin was breathing rapidly, and his face was a little pale. He could feel the tearing pain over his body, which was the sequela caused by performing the RFS.
With the experience of last time, he quickly took out some pills, put them into his mouth, and then said swiftly, “Let’s go!”
“Ah!” said Hu Long as if he just woke up from a dream. He was soaked in cold sweat. When the Barbarian Soldier launched an attack at them, he really doubted that he would die soon.
Surprisingly, Lin Xun in an instant made a move to help him survive the disaster. However, the feeling of being dragged back from the death line made him cold because of scare.
“What are you doing? Let’s go!”
Lin Xun grabbed Hu’s arm and rushed toward the outside of the jungle without caring about Hu’s will.
Lin’s unexpected strike wounded the Barbarian Soldier heavily, but if the other Barbarian Soldiers took precautions, it would be difficult to achieve the same effect.
More importantly, more than half of Lin’s strength was gone after he used the RFS. If the battle went on, he would be likely to end up being killed.

“Want to go? Dream of it!”
Suddenly, one more Barbarian Soldier of sturdy build appeared on the road ahead of Lin Xun and Hu Long.
Abruptly, Lin’s heart completely sank. He had thought that there were only two Barbarian Soldiers, but in fact one more was nearby!
Hu Long was so stunned that his face darkened immediately because of the sudden change. What the hell happened today? Why did three Barbarian Soldiers appear at the same time?
Did something abnormal happen in the Demon-cloud Ridge?
“It seems that we have to put up a desperate fight…”
Lin Xun took a deep breath. The gravity of the situation totally exceeded his expectation, and this turned out to be a real death crisis he had encountered in over a month after he entered the Demon-cloud Ridge.
He might die here because of one tiny careless action!
“I…”
Hu Long’s face was uncertain, as he was undergoing a fierce psychological struggle.
“No. 2, leave No. 3 be. Let’s work together to kill the two little guys!” said the stalwart Barbarian Soldier, who showed up just now, in a cold voice with his eyes full of cruelty.
As he spoke, he stomped on the ground, and then rushed at Lin and Hu like a flash of black lightning, leaving a residual shadow in the air.
“Die!”
A bronze spear appeared in his hand and stabbed them from the top, and Lin Xun and Hu Long were enveloped in the horrible wind it brought.
This round of attacks made a far-flung network and locked onto Lin and Hu from all possible directions, leaving them nowhere to retreat and avoid.
Lin Xun narrowed his eyes, pushed Hu Long beside him away, and then ran all his strength to gather in the saber in his hand.
Buzz!
The tide-like saber roar arose again as if a dragon or tiger roared, rocking the world.
In the instant, all the strength of Lin’s body seemed to be completely consumed, and he almost couldn’t hold up. But, in the end, he still performed the RFS for the second time.
Because of the terrible consumption, Lin’s face immediately became pale, and he coughed a mouthful of blood.
The effect of this strike was similarly remarkable. The enemy came to them quickly, so did his departure. He was blown away by the strike, falling hard onto the ground over 33 meters away and making an embarrassing gaffe.
But to Lin’s disappointment, the rival was just slightly wounded.
Of course, the RFS was as powerful as before, but the rival possessed greatly high combat effectiveness. Besides, he took precautions to defend himself, so the power of RFS was drastically reduced.
Boom!
As Lin Xun, out of the blue, felt a gust of terrifying wind hurtling at him, with his face darkening immediately, aware that the Barbarian Soldier named “No. 2” had seized the chance to launch a sneak attack.
Without the time to defend himself, Lin had to subconsciously dodge sideways.
However, the enemy had already seen it coming, so he quickly changed his move to rush at Lin. He seemed determined to kill Lin Xun at one fling just like a ghost didn’t go away.
Danger!
The strongly lethal breath spread over Lin’s whole body, forcing Lin Xun to dodge with his full strength. Lin Xun felt like he was in a race against the Death, so every second counted.

“Humph! It’s futile to struggle again! Go to hell!”
Abruptly, the sturdy Barbarian Soldier forced away by Lin Xun launched another attack from the other side.
Lin Xun was attacked front and rear!
Lin promptly fell in a completely desperate situation.
Worse still, after he had used RFS two times in a row, he was on the verge of collapse. He was almost unable to dodge the attacks at the moment, to say nothing of counterattack.
What should he do?
Lin Xun gritted his teeth, and then remembered the whistle hung before his chest for help. If…
A roar arose suddenly, interrupting his thoughts-
“Piss off!”
Lin Xun caught a glimpse of Hu Long who had been pushed away by him. Now, Hu Long’s momentum was soaring, and he rushed toward this side like another person.
Boom!
With just one strike, “No. 2”, who was chasing Lin Xun, was blown away by Hu Long.
“What?”
The Barbarian Soldier on the other side felt stunned, and cried out involuntarily, “Has he got into a higher level?”
Now, Lin Xun also noticed the turbulent Gang Qi surrounding Hu Long. In an instant, Lin understood what was going on, and he couldn’t help but sigh in his heart.
“You barbarian bastards, go to hell!”
With his roar full of fury and hatred, Hu Long was like a crazy man, giving full vent to his outrage in the battle.
A few moments later, upon a punch from Hu, the Barbarian Solider called “No. 2” was thrown away and died immediately with his chest smashed to cave in.
It even never occurred to Lin Xun that Hu Long would be so powerful at the time!
“No. 2!”
The sturdy Barbarian Soldier screamed with grief, and his eyes seemed to pop out. However, he chose to turn around and flee instead of continuing to fight.
He had apparently noticed the change of the situation. If he continued to fight, he would end up being killed just like “No. 2”.
“Lin Xun, next time I see you, you’ll be dead!” yelled the sturdy Barbarian Solider.
Hu Long who was about to hunt him down was stopped by Lin Xun. “If you chase him, I’ll be dead.”
Hu Long fell into a trance, and then he became sober from his anger. He turned around and annihilated “No. 3”, the Barbarian Solider who fell onto the ground, wounded heavily, and was unable to flee. Afterward, he came up to Lin Xun and said, “You’ve saved me twice, so I owe you once.”
His face became a little sullen. He was a little frustrated and didn’t look powerful anymore.
Well aware of Hu’s sense of loss and grief, Lin Xun didn’t say anything to him, because any comforting words would turn out useless at this moment.
Soon, Hu Long resigned himself to the fact and sighed, “If I hadn’t broken through, we would have died. The breakthrough means being sifted out, so I can’t return to the Bloodthirsty Camp. I don’t regret it, though; so you don’t need to overthink of it.”
As he spoke, he turned around silently, collected the Totem Barbarian Tattoos and items on the bodies of the two Barbarian Soliders, and placed them into his storage ring.
Subsequently, he took off his storage ring and gave it to Lin Xun, “Now, these military merits mean nothing to me, so I give them to you.”
Lin Xun didn’t refuse him, but he said, “These are yours. If I can hold on to the end, I’ll give them to drillmaster. Anyway, they are your achievements and honor.”
Hu Long smiled disapprovingly, looked around, and said, “It’s too dangerous here, and I’ll take you to a safe place.”
Then, he squatted down, took the initiative to carry Lin Xun on his back, and went off with a swagger.
Only the bodies of two Barbarian Soldiers were left in the scene, indicating the earth-shaking battle.
…
That night after Hu Long took Lin Xun to a safe place, he turned around and left without saying anything.
Lin Xun couldn’t help sighing again in his heart when he watched Hu go away.
Before entering the Bloodthirsty Camp, most trainees, including Bai Lingshi, Zhao Yin, Lee Duxing, Zhangsun Heng, Shi Yu, Ning Meng, Gong Ming, and Hu Long, had been qualified to make a breakthrough into the Gang Spirit Realm.
There were two reasons why they entered the Bloodthirsty Camp. On one hand, they wanted to be trained and get stronger; on the other hand, they wanted to enter Gang-producing Lake, which was more significant. By then, they could produce a Pond of Spiritual Power, the best one in accord with their wishes, in the process of breaking through into the Gang Spirit Realm.
Under such circumstances, none of the trainees would like to make a breakthrough unless he was driven to the wall. Once he made a breakthrough, he would have to leave the Bloodthirsty Camp and lose the opportunity to enter the Gang-producing Lake!
During the prior battle, Hu Long chose to make a breakthrough. Although he saved the critical situation and got them out of the jaws of danger, he became disqualified to continue the assessment in Demon-cloud Ridge. Worse still, it was impossible for him to return to the Bloodthirsty Camp.
This was the price paid for the breakthrough!
Lin Xun felt sorry for Hu Long. There were some conflicts between them before, but after a shoulder-to-shoulder battle, these conflicts had already gone with the wind.
This was the relationship between men. After they fought together, they weren’t enemies anymore. After all, there wasn’t a deep-seated hatred between them.
Without wasting much time on sigh, Lin Xun started his meditation. He needed to utilize all the time to recover his strength.
However, one puzzle remained unresolved in his heart. Why did the three Barbarian Soldiers launch attacks at him? Apparently, he was their target. Was this for the “Amrita Saint Pearl”?
What secrets were hidden in the sacred treasure of the Water Barbarian Branch? How could this Amrita Saint Pearl made them so persistent and crazy that they had dispatched Barbarian Soldiers to intervene in the Demon-cloud Ridge war at the expense of breaking the agreement with Ziyao Empire?

Children of Danu, People of Skill Book 1. (LitRPG/Gamelit)
Hi all, this is my first attempt at fiction ever. I'm sure it's awful, first attempts at new things usually are. Hopefully you can find something you like in it. I had a great deal of fun writing it. It's a basic Litrpg/Game, God sends you to a new world to do their bidding plot. I Know I did too much telling and not enough showing. I'm working on that. The underlying system is one haven't seen or done much. a full Point Buy system, like Gurps, Champions or the Hero system. After writing it a while, I see why folks don't do it. The record keeping is tedious. And once you start doing math in subsequent chapters, you can't go back and add more action, just because you dread redoing all the math. I've got about 80k words written in two "books" on the novel so far. I'm going to edit chapters and try to drop a couple a week till it's finished. Hopefully that will work for folks. I need to punch up the amount of action. I'll be working on that as well. Thanks, Cal-P.S> The cover art is one of the two CIrce Paintings By Waterhouse.
