The Great Ruler Chapter 1246 – Ghost Master
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
As Mu Chen had expected, after the three men escaped from his clutches, his fame spread throughout the Upper Earthly Sovereigns battlefield. However, Mu Chen didn’t know exactly how the news spread, and he wondered…
How exactly is this information exchanged?
However, this also caused some trouble for Mu Chen, as he found that now, when he set up a spiritual array and continued to lay in wait, even if Upper Earthly Sovereigns appeared, all of them chose to retreat immediately once they saw the spiritual array.
In the past, they may have underestimated Mu Chen, as he was a mere Lower Earthly Sovereign, but now, everyone knew that Mu Chen was an Intermediate Spiritual Array Ancestral Master. As such, his levels of spiritual arrays were enough to threaten any Upper Earthly Sovereign.
In the Great Thousand World, it was basically common sense not to easily engage in positional warfare with a well-prepared Spiritual Array Master. Thus, no one wanted to get within ten thousand feet of Mu Chen!
This reveal of Mu Chen’s identity as a Spiritual Array Ancestral Master was undoubtedly a great deterrent to his opponents, but it was not necessarily good news for Mu Chen. After all, he wanted to win battle seals, but to do so, he must defeat the other competitors!
However, as these guys were all cunning foxes at the moment and would not enter the scope of the spiritual array, Mu Chen could not fight anyone, much less win their battle seals. This made Mu Chen feel helpless.
Of course, the spiritual array was not his only trump card. Yet, he did not intend to reveal his other trump cards. After all, catching people unaware would give him an advantage. Hence, he must save them for a rainy day.
During the next two days, Mu Chen did not obtain a single battle seal. However, there was one Upper Earthly Sovereign who came to break the spiritual array.
When he came, Mu Chen failed to intercept him. This was because he was too slippery and was carrying a Sacred Object that that allowed him to escape through space.
Then, when the interloper saw that the situation was going south, he ran away immediately, and even Mu Chen could not stop him. Mu Chen could only see the prey that was about to fall into his trap vanish before his very eyes!
After this battle, Mu Chen’s reputation rose yet again, and no one to dared to provoke him. Even if Upper Earthly Sovereigns passed by Mu Chen, they immediately moved away, only glancing back at him from a distance.
Mu Chen could only sigh. However, although Mu Chen was exasperated, he refused to be in a hurry. He knew that the cruel fighting in the battlefield would eliminate more and more ordinary Upper Earthly Sovereigns as time went by, leaving only the elite behind.

These elite would then certainly eye his battle seals covetously, and once they felt that they had found a weakness, they would attack Mu Chen ferociously. Therefore, Mu Chen knew that it was only a matter of time before his time would come.
…
At the moment, Mu Chen sat quietly on a mountain, surrounded by innumerable spiritual seals. The space fluctuated violently as the spiritual seals flickered like stars.
A complete and powerful spiritual array was hidden in the surrounding area. Every time the spiritual energy in this spiritual array surged, it would cause huge waves to roll over the sea.
Whoosh!
In a distant place, a whistling rushed through the air. At that moment, a figure emerged in the air.
He then stood in mid-air hundreds of miles away from Mu Chen and frowned at the spiritual array that was surrounding him. After pondering for a moment, he turned and left.
Mu Chen watched as the figure disappear, his eyes shining. He perceived a vast spiritual oppression coming from the figure, like the power of the sea, which was stronger than the Fire Cloud King’s and the Zishan Sect Master’s, whom he had defeated before.
“They are getting stronger indeed…” Mu Chen murmured.
In these two days, the Upper Earthly Sovereigns who he had encountered were growing stronger. Clearly, after surviving several cruel eliminations, those who remained in the battlefield were all formidable characters.
“In that case, it should be soon…” he murmured.
As the Upper Earthly Sovereigns who were left behind became stronger and stronger, the deterrent effect provided by the Nine Dragons’ Deicide Array gradually weakened.
He could feel that, these days, quite a few of the top Upper Earthly Sovereigns were secretly spying on the array, trying to find some flaw in it. That was to say, the Nine Dragons’ Deicide Array was starting to lose its intimidation factor. According to Mu Chen’s estimation, within one day, someone would most likely come to take a shot at him.
Mu Chen smiled nonchalantly as he closed his eyes. He was interested to see who would be so confident as to come and take a shot at him. Then, that day quickly arrived…
Whoosh!
As the sea surged, the waves slammed heavily on the shore. Their rumbling sound, like thunder, spread far above the boundless sea.
As Mu Chen opened his eyes, a spiritual light emerged in them, then gradually dispersed. He then glanced at a distant island, from which he could vaguely feel some subtle spiritual fluctuations emanating.
Today, the atmosphere between heaven and earth seemed to be a bit grimmer than usual. Those islands almost seemed as if they had covetous gazes.
Mu Chen was akin to a lone wolf among the tigers. If he showed any signs of weakness, he believed that those who were watching him covetously would come in an instant to snatch all of his battle seals!

However, as they were cautious, no one dared to be the first to strike. Thus, they were waiting for the opportunity to arise.
Sunlight fell from the sky and shone on the sea, which rippled and sparkled. As Mu Chen looked at the shimmering sea, his gaze suddenly fixated on something.
He looked up a little and saw the distant sea suddenly turning a scarlet color. The scarlet waves roared as the wind howled and thunder rolled.
In just a few minutes, the scarlet waves appeared tens of thousands of feet high, then slowly stopped at the edge of the Nine Dragons’ Deicide Array. The scarlet waves surged as a figure that was donned in blood robes slowly appeared. That familiar malicious face belonged to Xue Lingzi from the Blood God Clan!
He glared chillingly at Mu Chen, his gaze akin to a hunter locking onto his prey. He looked brutal and ferocious.
“So it’s you, old dog…” Mu Chen froze when he saw the figure.
He then smiled bitterly and said, “I could sense your presence these past two days. But, you kept hiding like a rat and didn’t dare to show yourself. Why have you appeared now?”
Upon hearing Mu Chen’s tone, Xue Lingzi’s face turned cold. He then replied, “Brat, you are at death’s door! How dare you be so arrogant?”
Mu Chen looked at him and said nonchalantly, “I’m not sure if I will die, but I’m sure that you are in deep trouble today.”
Although his voice sounded nonchalant, there was a trace of murderous intent in it that could not be concealed. Mu Chen had long wanted to get rid of Xue Lingzi.
It was said that Luo Li’s father had died because of him. Also, Luo Tianshen had been severely damaged by his blood poison for many years.
Luo Li’s return to the Luo God Clan had also been because of Xue Lingzi, as she suffered a lot of pressure and was even under the threat of death! So, in a sense, Xue Lingzi was the Luo God Clan’s great enemy!
Although Luo Li never showed hatred for Xue Lingzi in front of him, Mu Chen could feel it. She just didn’t want Mu Chen to risk his life to kill Xue Lingzi, so she was careful to always restrain her emotions. Also, she was hoping that, after she grew up, she could end Xue Lingzi herself!
Hence, Mu Chen naturally had strong murderous intent towards Xue Lingzi due to the above reasons. As such, he was determined to find an opportunity to annihilate Xue Lingzi. Now that the old fellow had come on his own accord, this fulfilled Mu Chen’s wish!
“Hah, what a conceited brat!” Xue Lingzi laughed at him mockingly, then said chillingly, “Did you think that you could continue to be so proud just because you have an Intermediate Ancestral Master’s Spiritual Array? Did you think that there were no Spiritual Array Ancestral Masters in our Western Kingdom Continent?”
With a wave of his sleeves, a black light flashed beside him. Then, in the next moment, a thin old man in gray robes appeared.
As soon as the old man in gray robes appeared, his small eyes swept towards the Nine Dragons’ Deicide Array, which still surrounded Mu Chen. He then nodded his head and said with a smile, “It is an Intermediate Ancestral Master’s Spiritual Array indeed, so it’s no wonder that no one dares to deal with him these days.”
“Haha, Ghost Master has been famous for many years, so he is already well-acquainted with Intermediate Ancestral Master’s Spiritual Arrays. As such, a young brat like you cannot compare!” Xue Lingzi smiled, seeming to be very pleased with himself.
The old man named Ghost Master smiled and said, “Xue Lingzi, I can help you suppress this spiritual array, but after it is done, half of the boy’s battle seals belong to me.”
A hint of unwillingness flashed in Xue Lingzi’s eyes upon hearing these conditions, but he nodded decisively and said, “As long as you can get rid of this brat, I’ll agree to this!”
“Haha, you are very decisive!” Mu Chen heard this and narrowed his eyes and glanced at the gray-robed old man. He then murmured, “So, you engaged a Spiritual Array Ancestral Master to deal with my spiritual array…”
…
At the same time, in the White Jade Square of the Western Kingdom War City, countless gazes were drawn to a light screen. When they saw that Xue Lingzi and the old man in gray robes had appeared, a sea of whispers erupted in the crowd…
“Xue Lingzi actually engaged the Ghost Master’s help!”
“The Ghost Master has been an Intermediate Spiritual Array Ancestral Master for so many years. If he strikes, Mu Chen’s spiritual array will be rendered ineffective immediately.”
“He’s in deep trouble now. Without his spiritual array, Mu Chen is undoubtedly a toothless tiger, and there is no doubt that he will be defeated.”
Amid the commotion, Luo Tianshen glanced at the light screen gravely. He then glared at Xue Lingzi and gnashed his teeth, revealing his immense hatred.
“Xue Lingzi you old dog, you deserve to die!”

Debut: the day every young gentleperson of age gathers to receive their Spirit Blessing and shift for the first time into their second form. Except for those who don't. Beatrice's worst fear is to be one of the unlucky few trapped perpetually in a human body, cut off from the magic of the spirits and unfit for any respectable pack or pride. But when the time comes to face her fear, the outcome is one she never could have imagined. Be warned, this story is some highly experimental fluff—an unapologetically girly, unrelentingly bisexual, Regency/Victorian-ish fantasy mish-mash. It does have a dark side, though, so don’t come in expecting all sunshine and roses. Worthy of note, given the reputation of shifter stories: there will be no explicit sex in this tale. There will, however, be lots of polyamorous romance, necromancy, portal magic, capricious spirits, elemental mages, an unconventional take on shifters and a highly ordered society built around their existence.

Bright Feather
I'd like to say something like this is a unique story, blah-blah, but it's not. The story itself is your typical fantasy story with magic, fightings, plot armors, good friends, beautiful ladies and whatever there always is in such stories. I pretty much enjoy typical stories. So I've decided to write one myself. The only thing is the story isn't going to be centered about the Main Character. So let's leave all of the above to him, we'll meet him eventually anyway. This is the story of MC's counterpart. While our greatest Main Character conquers the world, cultivates, and whatever else, what does his destined other half do? Sit and stoically wait for him to come out of the closed door cultivation? Really now... Just thought it might be interesting to write such a story. Let's see if I manage. I'm new to this so, dear readers, please, don't be harsh on me. But if you have some words for me, so I can improve, don't keep them to yourselves, all help is deeply appreciated. And I officially promise to be very slow and inconsistent with releases (myriads reasons for this.) But I'll still do my best to finish the story someday. WARNINGS! (I thought a lot, and in the end, I'm putting it here. Better safe than sorry.) First of all, you can probably easily guess, but English is not my native language. And everything that comes with it. I don't think that it excuses me though, so I will improve with time, but warning you nevertheless. Second: No harem, no BL, no Romance And the last but not least: Beware of psychological pressure on characters and characters' deaths. Not much, in my opinion, but still, if you're overly sensitive to violence or mind games, better drop before starting. In any case, you've been warned. With all the above said, welcome, and enjoy.
