Chapter 597: Insidious Trap

“Looks like someone’s foiled our plans. The situation hadn’t gone as expected, and there’s quite a number of people!”

“So what, who cares if there are more people? They’re all just lambs for slaughter!”

“The beast lure has been set, ready cannons!”

“Wait for them to trickle out a bit more, lest the Blight Butterflies don’t get scattered so easily. We might have to wait for a few days before we can go in and collect the spoils!”

While these people waited for Quong Po to return, Qin Feng and his people naturally headed deeper.

“Dark Shroud!”

As his consciousness was mobilized, a patch of darkness suddenly appeared around them and covered up the three people. Their surroundings became hazy but the perception of the Blight Butterflies were greatly reduced.

“You’re also an ability user!” Yuan Xiaoguang was slightly caught off guard!

Qin Feng’s previous fearsome display was eye-catching, Yuan Xiaoguang would have never imagined that Qin Feng did not just use ancient martial arts. When the ability appeared and the Blight Butterflies were deterred, he knew that it was far stronger than the ones casted by other dark ability users.

Qin Feng said, “Always keep aces up your sleeve. Come on, we should hurry. Something’s not right, I’m worried that Master Quong might be in trouble!”

Yuan Xiaoguang chuckled nervously, “If Master Quong is in danger, then I doubt we can do much!”

Qin Feng did not seem to care but he did not refute Yuan Xiaoguang’s words either and continued to press onward.

After reaching C-tier, their speed would improve as well. Yuan Xiaoguang’s consciousness was strong and he managed to keep up with Qin Feng, who was moving forward with Dragon Steps.

“There’s one here!”

“Over here too!”

“It’s already too deep here, my heart’s starting to pound. I feel like something bad is about to happen!”

They moved quickly and in less than ten minutes, they found two pieces of a combat uniform. However, they found no traces of Quong Po’s daughter.

By now even though they knew it was a trap, they had to see it through till the end!

“There’s another one here!” Yuan Xiaoguang’s consciousness detected another piece of the combat uniform. It was hanging from a bundle of thorny vines. Yuan Xiaoguang pulled in a vine from a distance with his consciousness to pluck the piece of cloth away.

“Wait!” Qin Feng’s expression shifted as he tried to stop Yuan Xiaoguang.

It was too late, his consciousness moved too quickly and the controlled vine had already taken the cloth.

On the cloth, an invisible thread snapped as it was plucked off. Suddenly, something hidden ten meters away from them quickly burst.

Bang!

The power of this explosion was not that great, it was only about three meters in diameter but there was no trace of fire in this explosion. The only thing that indicated its blast zone was a dusting of white powder.

“What’s that?”

Yuan Xiaoguang was shocked!

“Beast lure powder!”

Qin Feng immediately blurted out the name. This was a trick used by the Dark Coalition. He had encountered this before his rebirth, and this was the first time he was actually caught in one.

Yuan Xiaoguang’s face was drained of color.

It was unclear how strong this powder was, but he knew that he had made a dire mistake and this was the kind of mistake that could lead to his death!

“Run, we need to run!” Yuan Xiaoguang said.

Qin Feng grabbed the other’s shoulder and said in a hushed voice, “Calm down, I’m a dark ability user. What are you afraid of?”

Qin Feng used comforting words. It was not very effective.

The powder was carried through the wind and very quickly the entirety of the thirteenth region felt like it was being shaken up by people.

At this moment, from a valley thousands of meters away, in an area packed with all kinds of what looked like massive silkworm chrysalis, burst out a swarm of Blight Butterflies.

These butterflies were a sight to behold with their magnificent, fluorescent colors that seemed to make them glow.

However, their numbers were constantly increasing.

One thousand, two thousand…

Three thousand, five thousand…

They were starting to reach an unimaginable number.

“Run away!”

Qin Feng and his group of three began to make a break for it.

‘That Shinla group is ruthless!’

If Quong Po and the others were here, even if Quong Po managed to escape, the others would not have made it out alive.

“Holy- that’s a lot!”

Yuan Xiaoguang’s face had turned pale by now, his consciousness stretched all the way to its limit.

By now, there was a strong wind blowing around them. Among that swarm of butterflies, a Blight Butterfly that was around five meters wide appeared.

“A Butterfly King, it’s a king level insectoid beast!”

Yuan Xiaoguang was terrified beyond measure.

For a C-tier, C-tier ultra beasts were already hard to deal with, let alone a C-tier insectoid beast king.

One could kill a number of C-tiers in the matter of seconds, unless there was a B-tier present, it could not be defeated!

Whoosh!

Among the swarm, three more kings appeared.

The aura of the insectoid king was already very oppressive. Yuan Xiaoguang felt that it was hard to take another step forward, and not only that he could feel his consciousness rapidly declining.

“Verdant Giant Wood!”

Yuan Xiaoguang’s consciousness surged and behind them, a towering tree suddenly rose out of the ground!

A C-tier ability user, although he was fleeing in a hurry, his true power was definitely not weak.

As the tree reached more than twenty meters in the blink of an eye, it collided with the tornado.

Boom!

The tree was completely shattered but this ability prevented the tornado from getting closer.

It also attracted more Blight Butterflies.

The speed of the fleeing three was not as fast as the butterflies.

Or perhaps, Yuan Xiaoguang was not as fast as the butterflies and Qin Feng had not allowed Bai Li to whisk them away with teleportation yet!

Qin Feng did not intend on continuing to run.

By now, the butterflies were going to overwhelm them, looming over their heads like an unyielding tsunami about to crash into the beach and wash the people still on it away.

“Looks like you’re going to have to wait longer for that skirt you wanted from Master Quong!” Qin Feng sighed.

Bai Li locked onto the three beast kings and said, “No worries, beast kings are better. Leave those three to me!”

“Okay!”

As soon as Qin Feng was done talking, he stomped his foot on the ground and his consciousness abruptly burst forth.

“World Aflame!”

A huge roaring flame suddenly burst out around him.

Everything within a hundred meters turned into a world on fire. The ground was covered with magma that erupted upward, and soaring over these pillars were flaming dragons and fiery birds!

The world had been set aflame!
