Chapter 782: To the Rescue

When Bai Li activated her spatial tunnel again, they had leaped to another new area . From here on, they decided to not use a spatial tunnel and briefly blinked a few times ahead . And then, they finally saw their destination .

Chongluo City looked like a mirage in the desert from afar .

The original geographical areas and locations were still visible and existing . However, there were several gigantic trees appearing in the middle of the city, already rocking the skyscrapers down while countless ultra beasts roamed around .

There was an eerie, silver fog looming in the air, making the place felt like a fleeting, dreamy palace in the clouds .

Meanwhile, there were also other humans surrounding a small ultra beast . And in front of them was a cloak of silver fog, with a C-tier beast king just a few meters ahead .

“Chase it in!” One of the ability users ordered .

Then, a D-tier piglet beast was released by these ability users and chased into the silver fog .

“Squeak!!”

The piglet beast rushed into the fog, which served as a curtain of barrier for the city . As soon as the C-tier beast king saw the piglet beast, it immediately locked its consciousness onto it furiously before lunging at it .

Seeing this, the piglet beast turned and fled without hesitation .

However, when the piglet beast went past the silver fog, trying to come back to this side of the dimension, it had vanished completely! Even the C-tier beast king too had vanished . It felt as though they had been teleported out of view!

A moment later, they could see the C-tier beast king re-appear in view, seemingly having finished a meal and slowly walking back to where it was before .

These ability users seemed to not be fazed by the C-tier beast king’s reappearance . They appeared to have expected this to happen .

The C-tier beast king was not on the same plane of existence as them . As such, they were not in immediate danger .

Still, when they saw this, their faces turned grim .

“It’s expanding again!”

“This time it’s one meter! And it’s expanding in all directions!”

“But it’s only been 10 minutes though! How could this be?!”

After listening to what they were talking about, Qin Feng understood that they were using the piglet beast and beast king to determine the rate of expansion of the spatial overlap .

And from the looks of it, things were not looking good .

Not only that, it seemed that they could do nothing to stop it too .

“It’s here! The equipment is here!”

“Quick! Set it up!”

“Will this work though? After all, Chongluo City has its own dimension stabilizer . Yet, it still succumbed to spatial overlap!”

“We have no choice but to keep trying . ”

These ability users then quickly set up the newly arrived spatial device that they got . Still, this was mostly a useless attempt .

Qin Feng knew that Z should already be in the area . He could be watching them right now .

If using a spatial device could solve this, Z would have something that was much more powerful and technologically advanced than what they had . And yet, Z could not rescue whatever that he was trying to rescue . Instead, he opted to ask Qin Feng for help .

Even Z could not solve this by the press of a button on his super machines .

Meanwhile, he could see a group of people running out of the main entrance of Chongluo City . These people were wearing C-tier and B-tier badges, and wielding weapons in their hands . However, these weapons were not rune equipment, they were just ordinary sabers and swords that one could buy from any low-ranked shops for a few dozen in cash!

They flocked together to shield a person in the middle . That person seemed to be quite weak . This must mean that this person was an ability user—in the Fettering Land, an ability user was as weak as a kitten after all .

“Look! It’s the Chongluo City’s First Corp!”

The ability users outside of the fog were quick to recognize who these people were .

The most powerful person in Chongluo City was the A-tier ability user . However, he usually did not care about the internal matters of the city . He even ran his own business and earned money on the side . Becoming the mayor of the city was merely a side-job for him .

With a mayor like this, it was natural that the others would need to get stronger people to protect the city . And thus, there were other B-tiers too within the city to fill in the protector roles .

Now, these C-tiers and B-tiers that were fleeing out of the city were mostly relying on the ancient warriors due to them not being dependent on powers and abilities . As they ran out of the city, they ran in random directions like mad men . After all, without consciousness to scan their surroundings, they were as good as blind when in the wild . Even though they were merely one hundred meters away from the ability users outside of the fog, all they could do was stare at the space ahead in despair .

Qin Feng and the others did not know what these people saw inside the fog . Perhaps it was the view of the other side of the “stronger dimension” . Perhaps it was a cloak of silver fog and nothing else ahead of them .

It was then, the C-tier beast king started to move again . It had noticed that it had new prey!

The ability users outside of the fog could feel nothing but helplessness .

“Quick! Come on, just set this damn thing up already!”

“We don’t even know if this will work!”

“But we need to save them!”

“How are we gonna do that?!”

“Yeah! How?!”

These people were overwhelmed with panic and desperation . However, they had no means to help their fellow comrades who were trapped inside the silver fog .

Suddenly, they sensed that someone was stepping toward the silver fog—It was Qin Feng . The ability users stared at him taking one step and another forward . When they realized that Qin Feng intended to step into the silver fog, their faces turned pale .

“What are you doing, kiddo?! Come back!”

“Stop! You can’t go in there! It’s too dangerous!”

“Don’t do it! We can’t lose anyone anymore, given the circumstances . Even if you go in there, you still won’t be able to save them!”

As the ability users tried to talk Qin Feng out of entering the overlapping dimension, the C-tier beast king had already lunged toward the ability users on the other side . The ancient warriors were too weak to hold it off . In just one powerful slash, the beast king was able to cut open the B-tier’s body, leaving a few bloody wounds!

The B-tier ability user widened his eyes with dread . He was a B-tier, damn it! Under normal circumstances, he could have slain this C-tier beast king with ease . Heck, he could kill a thousand of these things . And right now, all he could do was stand there and watch this monster tear him asunder! And without his abilities, he could not even heal and recover his body!

He was going to die!

The B-tier had never had this thought flashing in his mind so clearly before!

Suddenly, he could see a silhouette appearing below as he was tossed to the sky by the beast king . It was a young man, wielding a saber that was spewing raging, black flames . However, as soon as the silhouette became clearer in view, the saber seemed to have morphed into an ordinary saber .

Regardless, the young man seemed to not hesitate at all when he dashed toward the beast king . He did not use any consciousness, martial arts, abilities… all he did was run toward them . And in five seconds, he had already reached them!

It was Qin Feng!

And the Verdant Emperor Saber in his hand had lost its black flames . However, it was still as heavy as ever . And most importantly, the saber still retained the effects of the Grand-ripple Metal!
