Chapter 806: Manic Slaughter
These aptitude users were finally saved from their ordeal, but the intersection had ultra beasts rushing through by then.
“Aah! Open suppressing fire!”
“Help!”
“Aaaaieee!”
These aptitude users were originally powerful people. When there was not any spatial overlap, they were living in Chongluo City which meant that they all had to be at least C-tier or D-tier!
But now, they might as well be stunned cannon fodder, they could not withstand the ultra beast assault at all.
Among the ultra beasts, fast moving wolves rushed over quickly. The one that took the lead was obviously an E-tier beast king, it was at least five meters tall and seven to eight meters from head to tail. Originally, this would have not been a problem, but today it was a tyrannical force.
“Aahwooo!”
The Wolf King opened up its bloodthirsty maw and bit down on the loudest aptitude user it could find. With just one bite, only two lonely legs were left behind!
The Wolf King chewed a few times before gulping the aptitude user into its abdomen.
The other wolves leapt over the obstacles in their way and came down upon the humans. A few Grey Wolves tore into a human, sending chunks flying as a result.
This scene reeked with the stench of blood and fear of death.
Qin Feng loaded a missile, raised his arm and aimed it at the intersection.
Scree!
A low whistling sound came from Qin Feng’s hand cannon as a missile was shot out, tracing an arc through the air and slamming into the distant intersection.
Boom!
A loud explosion rang out as if the entire world had begun to shake, showing people the power of artillery fire.
“Awoo!” “Wuuhoo…”
Three or four of those grey wolves were blasted apart by Qin Feng’s attack, with two or three being extremely injured.
Only the Wolf King deftly managed to avoid this attack, a pair of ruthless eyes swept across the field before locking onto Qin Feng.

“Let them retreat! Covering fire!” Qin Feng exclaimed.
This time, Ning Xin’s heart was drumming. If possible, he actually wanted to go ahead and leave instead of staying.
He could not help but cry out in frustration, “Leave? There are still so many people, leaving is impossible! Dammit, hurry up and fight! Kill the ultra beasts!”
After he shouted out like that, he realized that Qin Feng had disappeared in the blink of an eye!
He quickly looked down and saw a figure deploying a glider.
Qin Feng had jumped down!
The glider took Qin Feng as he flew toward the Wolf King.
“Wuu…”
The Wolf King howled and then suddenly jumped. Its huge body stepped onto the high-rise building, moving as if it were flying. According to its point of view, Qin Feng was a grasshopper that could easily be crushed under foot.
The two collided in mid-air.
On the roof of the tall buildings, all the other aptitude users stared at the scene with their hearts in their throats.
There was no denying that Qin Feng was the strongest out of all of them. If he were to die or lose this battle, this would be an extremely devastating blow to them.
He was carrying a large hand cannon in his left hand and the black Verdant Emperor Saber in his right hand. His movements were extremely fluid.
Whoosh!
The glider on his back instantly retracted, preventing Qin Feng from being unable to control his body flexibly while in the air. As the glider retracted, his body suddenly dropped as he took the Wolf King face on.
“Whoo!”
The Wolf King opened its jaws, as if it would swallow Qin Feng at any moment.
Qin Feng raised his right hand, the Verdant Emperor Saber directed at the beast’s bloody maw.
Pfft!
The weapon slid along the beast’s mouth, slashing inward.
Thud!
Qin Feng sailed through the air and landed on the ground. His legs hit the road and cracked the ground under his tremendous strength.

The Wolf King was still soaring through the air. From one side, the Wolf King looked like it was completely motionless. Only those looking at it from the front would have known that the Wolf King’s body had been split in two!
In just the time it took for one breath, the corpse of the Wolf King which had ceased movement in the air finally crashed down. Blood spilled everywhere on the ground. In an instant, people’s spirits rose up.
This was a huge morale boost!
“General Qin! General Qin killed the beast king!”
People cheered like it was a significant victory!
“Don’t celebrate too early, hurry up and attack. Don’t let the ultra beasts rush over and protect the ones retreating!”
“Let’s move! Hurry up!”
“Everyone on the edge retreat, find a building to hide in!”
The crowd at the perimeter had already started to stampede, but these people had nowhere to go, there was no way out. There were ultra beasts everywhere, they were surrounded!
On the stairs, the people naturally heard the sound of Qin Feng firing his missile. When the ground vibrated the stairway shook, causing the panicked screams and some people even fell off the stairway.
However, nobody cared about them. They were all desperately running, desperately herding up as they knew that this was their final way out.
Those who went out naturally saw what was happening outside. Especially the first B-tier aptitude user to step out. The moment they left the overlapped space and entered their original realm, they were full of power.
The consciousness could be activated, the runes rose in a fit of joy. The stairway felt like a luxurious stairway to heaven.
This was a completely different feeling from what was happening below, it truly let people feel what an aftermath was like.
Meanwhile, in the overlapped space, things were getting heated.
A thirty-meter wide stairwell into the sky. Even if it could let out fifty people per second, and if the process was not disrupted, one minute could let out three thousand people, ten minutes would mean thirty thousand people!
But how many were there in Chongluo City?
How many people could come out in one day?
The entire central square was densely packed, there were at least a hundred thousand and more there.
But they were surrounded by ultra beasts.
“Back up! Back up!”
“Damn it, run away! Run!”
“Stop it!”
The aptitude users roared out, letting the civilians move along first so they could leave as fast as possible, but the speed was not up to point.
Qin Feng was at the edge of the crowd, frantically hunting down ultra beasts.
His speed was extremely fast, completely relying on his physical power to move around but it was impossible to catch him on the move with the naked eye. When he arrived at a place, it was like a gust of wind.
Wherever he went, all that was left on the ground were the corpses of ultra beasts!
Still, Qin Feng’s power alone was too small!
The number of people in the central square had dropped by one third and the human defensive circle was constantly shrinking, more importantly, there were more and more ultra beasts rushing over.
The human line could be torn through at any moment, rushing toward the crowd to rip them apart.
At this very moment, life could be snuffed out in an instant!
“Yaaaaaaaagh!”
Qin Feng’s body was soaked in blood, only mechanically raising his arm, swinging and running, killing every enemy within his line of sight!

Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.
