Chapter 837: The Exploding Scepter
Qin Feng stepped out of the aircraft, surrounding his body with internal force in an instant. Without needing him to say anything, Bai Li’s body became partially translucent and she shifted herself into an alternate space to prevent blood from splashing onto her clothes.
Gorefiends were extremely dangerous beings.
Even though Qin Feng managed to kill an A-tier Gorefiend just now, to be honest, he would not want to take on another one like that in a direct confrontation.
He quickly fell toward the edge of the ruins. The ground here was still a mixture of black and red, some places were still damp and blood was slowly seeping from it.
Due to an entire city and a massive chunk of land having fallen there, the mutant plants here had been utterly flattened underneath and as more and more people continued to die the Gorefiends became more and more ferocious.
Qin Feng’s appearance was definitely different from the humans around him. They all wore long robes, some kind of archaic fashion, similar to the long dress that Bai Li was wearing. His being clad in his combat uniform obviously made him seem out of place.
However, in this chaos, nobody would care what Qin Feng looked like. However, when the blood-drenched people saw Qin Feng, they immediately rushed over.
A male covered in blood struck his palm out and a torrent of blood crashed directly onto his internal force and was instantly rinsed away. He drew the Verdant Emperor Saber and immediately slashed forward.
“Burning Sword Glare!”
No point using the Spirit Rend, he could at least kill a Gorefiend of this kind of power with one move.
With just one slash, the Gorefiend-possessed human was cut at the waist, blood splashing everywhere in huge quantities.
On the ground, the blood puddle quickly began to reform. A Gorefiend with a human-like upper body and a snake-like lower body crawled out and launched its attack at Qin Feng.

The blood surged forward like a lake that threatened to engulf him.
He raised a hand as a huge fireball appeared on his palm, instantly expanding to more than three meters.
Within Qin Feng’s consciousness, was the Sacred Flaming Stone that he took away from Mohrian’s Volcano, so fire runes were quick to condense and create the fireball in the blink of an eye before it was sent out.
Boom!
The fireball smashed through the wave of blood and slammed into the Gorefiend.
“Aaaaagh!”
The Gorefiend screeched and a large portion of blood on its body was instantly evaporated, causing it to wither down into a smaller being roughly the size of a baby. Qin Feng moved forward and immediately pierced through his opponent’s heart with a single strike.
A powerful force spread out from his opponent and was devoured by his absorption ability, strengthening his physical form and his consciousness.
He lifted his hand, and a Blood Crystal landed in his palm.
After easily killing one, he continued to walk into the ruins and whenever he encountered a Gorefiend, he would kill it without leaving a trace. At the same time, he was looking for something.
The ruins were vast, since it was originally a city and this city happened to be huge.
Ignoring the desolation and where it now stood, this city was probably bigger than the Dragon Capital.
At this moment, a bright burning flame appeared in the center of the city.
“Hwroar!”
There came the sound of a Dragon’s roar before it speared through the sky, reaching up a thousand meters in altitude. A spectacular sight to behold.
However, this was just the shadow of a long flaming Dragon.
He could hear the surrounding humans start calling out to see what was going on, looking to the central area with excitement. Even the people who had fled earlier were starting to return.
Qin Feng understood what this all meant!
A legendary god armament had finally appeared!

He knew about this legend, while some people said that it was a robe, others said it was a scepter. Qin Feng was not sure what it was, but there was no doubt that this item was obtained by an S-tier!
And since there was no S-tier that had entered the rift yet, Qin Feng would naturally not let this go.
“Move!” He uttered quietly in his mind, Bai Li moved instantly and took Qin Feng forward about ten kilometers or more toward the center of the ruins.
He was still about a good kilometer or so away from the centermost area. He stood on a tower that had yet to collapse and surveyed the surrounding ruins.
An old man wearing a flame-red robe embroidered with a symbol that resembled the Sun and intricate swirls, a two-meter long staff currently held in his hands, was unleashing a powerful aura!
“S-tier!”
Qin Feng’s eyes widened as a large wave of air blew toward him.
“Suppressing Barrier, go!”
He suddenly formed a ten-meter wide Fire Wall around himself. A flood of magma spread out beneath him and five fire dragons hovered around him. The terrifying blast of air crashed into the Fire Wall without affecting it.
After the shockwave passed, Qin Feng released his consciousness. He ‘looked’ at his surroundings and saw up to a hundred A-tier humans.
On the other hand, there was obviously one old man but he exuded the aura of two people.
As he looked forward with his own eyes, he noticed from a kilometer away that the old man’s white hair had turned as red as blood.
He immediately understood what was going on, this person had actually been possessed by a Gorefiend.
However, the S-tier was extremely powerful and did not die, continuing to struggle against the Gorefiend’s control.
However, it would only be a matter of time before this struggle was over. The blood around the old man was getting more and more dense and it looked like it was about to completely swallow the S-tier!
“Retreat immediately!!!”
A blast of consciousness was unleashed as the old man roared out, sounding like he was about to start destroying everything indiscriminately.
The surrounding people were full of grief.
“Your Majesty!”
“Your Majesty!!!”
“Retreat! Hurry!”
That old man sounded like he was losing control of himself, his voice getting distorted.
Qin Feng did not know this man, nor did he sympathize with the people around him. The moment the man cried out, he was already on the retreat.
He had already felt that the scepter in the old man’s hands carried with it some kind of explosive energy and he had no choice but to start backing off.
Boom!
There was a huge explosion, completely tearing through everything around it. Such a blast would spread through ten thousand meters!
Qin Feng could only retreat for about two kilometers. At this time, he was still in the blast radius.
“Phase Shift!”
Bai Li instantly dragged Qin Feng into a different space. He saw that everything around him had become blurry, looking at the world as if it was some kind of omniscient force and the only real thing was Bai Li next to him.
The fires of the explosion, death and destruction, it all seemed so far away from him. When he looked to the ground, he saw that the blast was vaporizing the ground and had formed a crater one hundred meters deep!
The old man in the epicenter had caused his staff to explode, and the crystal tip had completely shattered.
That person’s body completely burned to ash under the high temperature. With the utter destruction of the outer shell, all that remained was the bright red figure within!
The Gorefiend!
The Gorefiend opened its large mouth, but its roar was drowned out by the noise of the explosion and nobody knew what was happening in there!
Only Qin Feng did, from his god-like perspective, could see this.

Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**
