Chapter 911: 911
Chapter 911: Evolved Cherub
The silver beams continued to sprawl forward. The Mountainous Tortoises did not seem to be bothered by the white figure as they swam on unfazed.
The silvery silky lights skimmed past the tortoises silently. They left no crack on them and disappeared into the tortoises’ bodies.
When Helian Mingjie began to doubt that the silver beams would have any effect, the tortoises were suddenly shredded into pieces. Even the seemingly impenetrable shells were dismantled.
The slaughter ended in less than ten seconds. Bai Li disappeared from the screen instantly and had probably returned behind Helian Mingjie right after that.
Helian Mingjie was clearly embarrassed and baffled at the same time.
“So, what do you two think? Does she pass the test?” Tung Yang asked.
“Yes!” Lin Qiao nodded.
“This… Of course, she passed!” None of the previous candidates would have passed if such a performance did not.
Helian Mingjie reckoned even he could not have withstood the silver beams. To be honest, he could hardly tell the ability used by Bai Li through the clip.
After Lin Qiao and Helian Mingjie consented, Tung Yang passed Bai Li’s qualification. He then took out a box and handed it over.
“Ms. Bai, I had this prepared beforehand. It’s yours now.”
“Thanks.”
“How thoughtful, Regent Tung.” Qin Feng expressed his gratitude.
“It’s nothing,” Tung Yang replied with a big grin. As compared to Qin Feng’s willingness to return to the Abyssal Ocean, everything else Tung Yang did—bringing along the examiners and the badge with him, was just a small courtesy. At the very least, his action showed that he indeed cared about Qin Feng. The test could still be carried out at East Sea City later on. But that would require Qin Feng and Bai Li to travel all the way there and Tung Yang wanted to save them the trouble.
Bai Li took down her B-tier badge and pinned on the new A-tier badge. She looked at it, then looked at Qin Feng’s badge. Without thinking much, Bai Li grumbled, “Your marshal badge looks way better than mine. I should also get a marshal badge one day.”

The words came out from Bai Li’s mouth with peculiar certainty. Even Helian Mingjie, who had constantly ridiculed them, did not dare to talk back this time. He admitted, though reluctantly, that it would be a piece of cake for someone of her caliber to attain the marshal position.
‘Why haven’t I heard of someone so powerful before?’ Helian Mingjie thought about it. But the more he pondered, the hazier Bai Li’s image became in his mind. Though Bai Li was standing right in front of him, Helian Mingjie could barely call out her name now.
‘Wait a minute!’ A sense of fear struck Helian Mingjie. He finally realized how powerful Bai Li was.
‘What an amazing consciousness masking effect. She is powerful enough to alter my subconscious thinking and impression. This lady is scarily dangerous!’
Helian Mingjie dared not look at Bai Li any further. Without purposely looking and thinking about Bai Li, the lady’s image in his mind became slightly clearer. However, he could no longer recall Bai Li’s face.
Such an outcome was enough to silence him.
Qin Feng grinned mockingly as he looked at Helian Mingjie’s body language. Such an arrogant person was usually the one that conceded the fastest when they have met a far more dominant being. Tung Yang might tolerate him, but Qin Feng would not. Qin Feng wanted to let Helian Mingjie acknowledge his own inferiority.
Though Bai Li’s consciousness was indeed influential, it was not to the level where it would automatically affect the mind of those around her. The truth was, Qin Feng had asked Bai Li to do it, and he had taught Helian Mingjie a lesson.
As he had guessed, Helian Mingjie was docile the rest of the way.
In their journey after that, they met other giant beasts. Qin Feng controlled the Glutton to kill the weaker ones while leaving the tougher ones in Bai Li’s hands. This allowed them to explore deeper into the sea.
“This is getting too risky. This is an area we have never ventured into before. We could bump into an S-tier sea beast here anytime,” Lin Qiao said with concern.

It was normal to feel unsafe when exploring uncharted waters. Some more, Lin Qiao was the weakest among them.
Not only Lin Qiao, but Helian Mingjie was also frightened by the unfriendly sea. Yet, he could not voice his fear as freely as Lin Qiao due to his pride. That, too, suffocated him.
Not to mention the B-tiers on board. They now believed that the Glutton was actually a kamikaze squad on this trip.
Tung Yang finally understood Qin Feng. “I should have listened to you. Indeed, we are of not much help to you. Worse still, we are actually holding you guys back,” he said apologetically.
“Don’t worry about it. Let’s turn back for now. The Hundred-Claw may be the sovereign in this sea, but it wouldn’t be found so easily in this vast sea. Better luck next time.”
“I agree. Let’s head back. Have other scouts continue to search for its trace. Inform us immediately once the beast has been found.”
But in that case, the Hundred-Claw could have run away long before Qin Feng arrived at the scene.
It could not be helped. When you pray for the beast not to surface, it would wreak havoc every other day. Now that they came out to hunt it, the Hundred-Claw was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, the alarm on the Glutton rang urgently.
“Sh*t! It’s the Siren Cherub!”
On the surveillance monitor inside the control room, a giant baby could be seen coming at them.
“Don’t panic. This vessel can block the psychic attacks by the Cherub. Its physical attack is also not powerful enough to break the Glutton.”
Qin Feng did not expect to find the Cherub this deep. Since the Glutton was equipped with sensitive radar to survey the ocean around them, Qin Feng did not release his probing sense. Thus, they had detected the Cherub rather late.
Of course, he would not let it get away now that it had come to them voluntarily.
‘Even the Cherub has evolved into deity-tier? If so, its core would suit Bai Li’s appetite.’ Qin Feng held his chin. He looked at the Cherub like it was a giant and juicy fruit.
With his consciousness connected to the Glutton, the bio-machine moved responsively and bit on the Cherub.
The beast was frightened and retreated. The attack had clearly upset the baby.
A piercing cry spread from under the sea in visible waveforms. Unfortunately, such an attack had no effect on the lifeless Glutton. People inside the vessel were also protected by the Glutton’s force field. Though they could still hear the wailing, they were not affected by its consciousness attack.
“For real? Its attack doesn’t reach us?”
“The Glutton is undoubtedly the new king of this sea.”
“Marshal Qin, you really want to kill the Cherub? Can you really do it? The speed of the Cherub is still relatively fast.”
Just when the rest of the eager passengers bombarded him with a lot of expectations and questions, the scanner in the middle of the control room rang frantically again.
Numerous red dots were coming at the Glutton from all directions.
These were all great beasts in this abyss.
When they were within sight, Qin Feng found that their eyes were bloodshot but the beasts were not fighting off each other. Instead, they were all looking at the Glutton resentfully. It seemed that they were being hypnotized and had forgotten how scary the Glutton was. All they wanted was to bite the Glutton into pieces.
“It seems that the ability of the Cherub has gone to another level as well.”
