This morning, I came to the Adventurer’s Guild at my usual time, skipping all the usual crowd in the early morning.
I was immediately shown to the Guild Master’s room by someone before I even got to the receptionist.
The door opened to show Marks-san at his table, he was clearly waiting for me. [3] “Ahh, welcome, have a seat.”
I sat down.
“Well, I must say you’ve picked up quite an interesting set of items from the dungeon. Then, of course, there’s the materials from the Earth Dragon. To be honest, I am quite at a loss what to choose.”
“I see, but you have made your decision?”
“Aaa,”
In the end, Marks-san had decided to purchase the following items:
Orc testicles x 31 Minotaur Iron Axe x 15 Orc King testicles x1 Red Ogre magic stones (medium) x 1 Giant Killer Mantis sickles x 38 Murder Grizzly’s fur x 21 Giant Centipede shell x 3 Killer Hornet poison needles x 286 Mimic treasure chest (small) x 1
Besides the items from the dungeons, he also decided to buy 2 vials of the Earth Dragon blood.
“Since dungeon and Earth Dragon materials are hard to come by, I’d like to purchase more. However, I’m afraid this is my limit,” [3] said Marks-san a little unhappily. [5]
We moved to the warehouse where I took out the materials he wanted. Everything was laid out neatly, with smaller items on the tables and larger pieces on the floor. Marks-san eyed these things and said, “With so many valuable things, it would take us a little time to assess the goods. Would it be alright if I give you the valuation tomorrow afternoon?” [5]
“Of course,”
Just as I was about to leave, Marks-san said, [3] “Oh, I almost forgot. I have a message for you from the Merchant’s Guild. They ask if you could drop by at their place at your convenience.”
[4] “Merchant’s Guild? Well, I am registered with the Merchant’s Guild… I wonder why they’d want to see me…”
Still pondering over the matter, I then headed towards the Merchants Guild.

I have no problem going to the Merchant’s Guild, but I do wonder why they want to see me specifically.

It’s not my first time here, and I headed straight towards the reception, [3] “Excuse me, my name is Mukouda. I believe I was asked to come here…”
I showed the receptionist my Adventurer’s Guild card and Merchant’s Guild card. [2] After which, I was escorted to a meeting room in the back. Knowing that it’s better to be safe than sorry, I asked if it was alright to bring my familiars with me. These people looked a little nervous at the sight of a lounging Fer, but agreed.
At the meeting room, I was greeted by Guild Master Gert-san. There was a tall, thin man who looked to be in his 40s next to him. [6] I had met Guild Master Gert-san earlier when I first came to Verulean to rent a place to stay.
“Welcome to the Merchants Guild, please, do sit here,” [Z1]
I sat down.
Both guild master and the mystery man sat down before me. Meanwhile, Fer had padded over to settle down behind my chair. Sui was in my bag next to me, of course.
“We have met once before, but it was such a brief meeting that I was unable to properly get to know you. Allow me to introduce myself once more. I am Gert, the Guild Master of this establishment. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
“A pleasure to meet you as well.”
“I have heard of your accomplishment. About how you cleared the Doran dungeon, the subjugation of the Kraken and more besides! What an incredible person you are!”
Is it my imagination? Or are his eyes glittering worshipfully?
“Haa… maa…” [3] all of the achievements were all really Fer, Dora and Sui’s. However, I don’t think he’d asked me to come here just to compliment me so… “Um, may I know what business you have with me?”
“Oh, oh, apologies for taking up your time. To be honest, I was contacted by Lambert Company of Calerina to arrange this meeting.
Apparently, instructions came through a magic tool used to send letters via guilds. I know that all Adventurer’s Guilds have them, but I had not realised that this special tool was only installed in Merchant’s Guild situated in large cities. Looks like Verulean also counted as a large city.

The person who contacted me must be Lambert-san.
Just then, the tall man introduced himself, “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Adrian. I am in charge of inventory purchase. It is a great pleasure to meet with Mukouda-san. I received the order from the master to meet with you.”
Apparently, Adrian was one of Lambert-san’s people. He’s here because he was nearest to Verulean city when the message came. Hmm, I wonder if this has to do with the shampoo things. Are they really running low on stock already?
“I have troubled the Guild Master,” said Adrian formally. “I shall speak with Mukouda-san from here on.”
Guild Master Gert made an understanding sound and stood up. However, before he left, he said, [3] “Mukouda-san, I too have something to speak with you about. Do drop by at the receptionist before leaving?”
Was what he said before he left the room.
[6] Once the door was closed, I turned to Adrian-san, “Well, what message did Lambert-san have for me?”
“I am tasked to give you this letter.”
I took the letter and unsealed it. [2] Ah, as expected. It’s the inventory issue of the soap and shampoo. Apparently, the products sold so well that they had to limit sales per person.
From the tone of the letter, Lambert-san was getting quite desperate. This was also the reason why he would choose to contact me via the Merchant Guild’s magic tool.
The things Lambert-san said he wanted to purchase were the following:
This chapter is scrapped from readlightnovel.org
Cheap soap x 1000 bars Rose scented soap x 500 bars Rinse-in shampoo x 1000 bottles Shampoo & Treatment x 400 sets Hair mask [8] x 100 bottles
These products amounted to 1185 gold coins.
I was a little surprised by the numbers, but he doesn’t seem to be at a loss with all the massive sales he’s been having. It seems like a lot of women who knew about these quality items were increasing. Young women were especially wild with it.
I guess the desire of being beautiful amongst women is common in any world.
“I have read the letter and understood the situation, I will have the products ready by tomorrow morning.”
“Thank you very much.”
I proceeded to inform Adrian about my temporary abode in Verulean. He will come by tomorrow to pick up the stock.
Speaking of stocks, I too have to make some preparations. [2] A couple of wooden crates for example, as well as some locally made porcelain jars and bottles. It’s kind of troublesome to have to do this by myself, but it’s not like I could show these people the plastic pouches my ‘special products’ came in.
More importantly, this was a special request from Lambert-san. A person to whom I was indebted. So I shall do my best for him.
Once my business with Adrian-san was over, I left the meeting room and headed for the reception. I wonder what Gert-san want to see me about?
“Excuse me, my name is Mukouda. I was asked by the Guild Master to stop by here since he mentioned that he wished to speak with me?”
The receptionist asked me to wait for a while and very soon, I saw Gert-san hurrying over.
[4] “Ah, apologies for taking your time. However, there is something I really must ask. It’s about your dungeon Drop Items…”
Ah.
[4] “… as you know, Verulean is a city far away from any dungeons etc, etc we’d like to purchase some precious stones and jewellery items…”
As he went on, I thought back to my bitter experience at Doran. I really don’t know the value of stones and jewellery in this world. [6] While I don’t lack money, I don’t like being tricked either. [5]
Finally, I said, “I don’t mind at all. However, I’d like to have the Adventurer’s Guild Master to help me assess the items, if you don’t mind.”
“No, no, of course not.”
“Then, I see you tomorrow or the day after?”
“I am here almost every day, so please come by at your convenience.”
“Good, then it is settled,” finally we’re sent off by Gert-san from the Merchant Guild.
