Chapter 116

“Whew…”
Making a sight, Soo Hyuk scanned his surroundings.
‘This seems like the actual reward.’
In the corner, there were three treasure cases.
‘At least there is a reward…’
Soo Hyuk was disappointed yet curious as he walked towards the cases.
‘I wonder what’s in them.’
Soo Hyuk walked closer to the treasure cases with curiosity but paused shortly and then continued to walk again.
‘They’re pretty large.’
The reason Soo Hyuk paused was due to the size of the treasure cases. The three treasure cases looked normal in the distance, but as he approached them, Soo Hyuk realized that they were massive.
‘They’re as tall as I am.’
Soo Hyuk stood next to the cases and measured their height with his own.
‘They all have a slight difference.’
The treasure case furthest to the left was the smallest and increased in size towards the right.
But there wasn’t a huge difference. The smallest case’s height was around Soo Hyuk’s eyes, and the largest case was the same height as Soo Hyuk.
‘Do I need to choose one out of the three?’
Thinking which to pick, Soo Hyuk furrowed his eyebrows.
‘Yes, that may be possible. Then just in case…’
Soo Hyuk finished his thoughts and decided to pick the largest treasure case. Just in case he was only allowed to pick one, Soo Hyuk chose the largest one.
Soo Hyuk opened the case and frowned.
‘It seems empty…’
The lid opened, but Soo Hyuk could not see anything on the top. Since the case was the same height as Soo Hyuk, he couldn’t see the bottom of the case. There was a possibility there was something at the bottom, so Soo Hyuk tipped his toes and checked inside.
‘A scroll?’
There was only one scroll sitting on the bottom of the case.
‘Fuc….’
Just as Soo Hyuk was about to curse, the scroll suddenly disappeared.
Because the treasures before disappeared in the same fashion, Soo Hyuk twitched after seeing the scroll do the same. However, seeing the new entry in the drop window, Soo Hyuk let out a sigh of relief.
‘It might be that the scroll automatically got acquired when I stared at it.’

– Encrypted Map
‘So it wasn’t a scroll.’
The drop window showed that the item was a map, and Soo Hyuk accepted it.
‘What kind of map is it to be sealed in such a large treasure case?’
‘And at least it seems that I can open the other cases too.’
Soo Hyuk was expecting a notification or the cases to disappear after he opened a case, but since nothing happened, it seemed he was free to open the rest.
A map that points to the Great Thief Kelta’s secret location. Needs to be deciphered.
“Huh?”
Soo Hyuk’s eyes widened as he checked the map’s descriptions. It wasn’t because of the map’s rank, but because it pointed to the secret location.
That secret location is where the special quest ‘Kelta’s Legacy’ completion condition is and where the illusion of treasures that he saw before was stored.
‘This is awesome.’
‘But it says it needs to be deciphered…’
The difficulty of deciphering depends on the rank of the item. What more is there to say about a legendary item?
‘But still…It doesn’t mean it’s not decipherable.’
Thinking about the treasures he can obtain from the secret location, Soo Hyuk thought,
‘I’ll just need to take some time to decipher it.’
Soo Hyuk wasn’t forced to decipher it right now, he had the freedom to do it later.
Deciding to decipher the map later, Soo Hyuk headed to the next case.
Arriving at the middle treasure case, Soo Hyuk’s expectations rose. The first item was a legendary rank item, so Soo Hyuk was expecting something in that rank.
Soo Hyuk reached out his hands to open the case, but a sudden shine emerged, so Soo Hyuk stopped and shut his eyes.
The shine lasted for a moment, and the item appeared in the drop window like the last item.
‘Wait…’
Soo Hyuk didn’t check the window because of what he saw the moment he opened the case.
‘I was sure I just saw…’
Soo Hyuk thought of what he just saw and slowly turned his head to the drop window.
– 100000 gold
‘Oh my…’
Soo Hyuk was surprised at what he saw.
‘It really was gold?’
Soo Hyuk clearly saw the glitter of gold when he opened the case, and he was correct.

‘ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousand… 100 thousand…’
Checking the number of zeros, Soo Hyuk made a surprised face and accepted the money.
‘Since 1 gold is worth 100 won…’
The current market price for gold was 1:100.
‘Wow… 10 million won?’
Calculating the price in won, Soo Hyuk mumbled.
‘With 10 million won…’
At that moment, a list of books passed Soo Hyuk’s min
‘How many antique books can I buy…’
Soo Hyuk dreamt of buying antique books but didn’t dare to because of the high price. Usually, he could only get one for his birthday, but he could buy a bunch with that money.
This chapter is scrapped from readlightnovel.org
‘Let’s sell it.’
Soo Hyuk made his decision.
‘Let’s sell it, then go buy some books.’
Soo Hyuk decided not to buy antiques due to their high price. He would rather spend the money to get a larger quantity of books.
‘They’re a lot of new books recently…’
Lots of books were being published, and with that money, Soo Hyuk would be able to buy all of the newest releases.
Just thinking about being surrounded by a pile of books made Soo Hyuk grin. Keeping the grin on his face, Soo Hyuk accepted the gold and walked to the last case.
‘Now, I wonder what’s in this one.’
The previous two cases were treasures that made Soo Hyuk surprised each time. Expecting the last case to do the same, Soo Hyuk opened the last one with eager eyes.
Soo Hyuk stared at the bottom of the case and then tilted his head.
‘A box?’
The box disappeared, and a notification popped in the drop window.
‘Why is it a box?’
Soo Hyuk opened the drop window and checked the item.
– The Great Thief Kelta’s Weapon Box.
‘A weapon box?’
Although Soo Hyuk got to know the name of the box, he still did not know what it did.
‘Is it a box that gives out weapons? Or maybe is it a box that contains the weapons Kelta used?’
Soo Hyuk accepted the item and checked the item’s descriptions.
[Unexchangeable]
A box that contains one of the many weapons Kelta stole. The rank of the weapon depends on the rank of the box. When activated, a weapon will be acquired.
“…”
Once again, Soo Hyuk was surprised and was lost for words.
The content of the box was obviously a weapon, but it wasn’t a weapon Kelta used, but a weapon that Kelta stole.
‘The weapon rank depends on the box’s rank. That means…A legendary weapon? This is crazy!’
‘This is the best one out of the three.’
Although, if determined by the final reward, the map had a greater value out of the three items, the weapon box was the one that brought the greatest immediate value if sold.
‘But I don’t know what’s going to come out…’
Soo Hyuk wanted to sell the item box to exchange it for money, but unfortunately, it was unexchangeable.
It was impossible to know what kind of weapon would come out, but if it’s a meta weapon like a wand, sword, or bow, the price would be unbelievably high.
Soo Hyuk stood still wondering how much he could get if that was the case, but legendary items were never exchanged before. Therefore Soo Hyuk couldn’t grasp the price range.
‘But what should I do if a wand comes out? Should I just use it first and then sell it?’
Soo Hyuk was not wearing a good weapon, so he debated whether to sell the item or use it.
‘Let’s open the box first and then worry.’
Casting his worries aside for later, Soo Hyuk pleaded,
‘Please give me a good one.’
If the item was off-meta, then there was a chance the price wouldn’t be as high as he hoped for.
So Soo Hyuk pleaded for a good weapon with good stats as he opened the box.
[You have used The Great Thief Kelta’s Weapon Box.]
[You have acquired Yarion’s Wrath.]
As the box opened, a notification popped up. The name of the item was “Yarion’s Wrath.”
‘What kind of weapon could this be?…!!!’
Checking the item in his inventory, Soo Hyuk’s eyes opened widely.
‘Oh my God!’
It may have been a relief or a regret that the item was not a wand, but at least it was a sword.
The exterior look of the item in the inventory was an elegant sword befitting of the legendary rank.
Although the looks were important, what’s even more important is the stats and options.
Soo Hyuk opened the item’s descriptions to check the options attached. As he read through the descriptions, Soo Hyuk opened his eyes widely once again in surprise.

Captain Critiques: A Grumpy Pirate Review Book
(CURRENTLY OPEN)When it comes to reviews, I'm probably as harsh as the hellhole most story ideas crawl out of. I'm blunt, sarcasic, to the point and I know what I like in a story. As you can probably guess, you don't wanna take my advice if your like an overprotective mother about your story. Who am I kidding, EVERYONE is like that about their stories. But, if you could find the courage to pry the story out of your cold, crabby hands so I can give my brutally honest opinion then be my guest. Just don't try and start a fight once I provide it. You DON'T wanna fight a pirate. .................................. I reserve the right to decline stories as this will be taking up quite a bit of my time and if I say no, I mean NO. If your blurb is unreadable I will decline it. If it includes the genres mentioned in my 'Hell No' section then I will send it back where it came from.Do NOT critique the Captain.
