Chapter 239: 239
‘What is this?’
Soo Hyuk was absurd and didn’t say anything.
It is understandable that mana is not restored. But 20x increase in mana consumption and 40% decrease in skill damage? This doesn’t make any sense.
“… … Soo Hyuk, how much mana do you have now?”
Yeon Jeung also saw the message and asked.
Soo Hyuk quickly checked his mana.
“190 thousand.”
It was safe to say that since his total mana is 210,000, at 190,00 it was almost full.
But he could not be reassured. Mana consumption has increased by a whopping 20 times. 2000 for Magic Missiles, 6000 for Fire Spears, 20000 for Fire Walls once he casted the spells it will be tough to handle the situation.
His mana would run out in a couple of spells.
“Hell Fire costs 100,000.”
In addition, Hell Fire, a boss specialized in magic , required 100,000 mana to cast.
It was then.
“Human Wizard.”
Hertana smiled and called Soo Hyuk.
“How does it feel to have your mana frozen?”
Soo Hyuk did not answer Hertana’s question.
‘What do we do?’
Answering does not solve the situation.
Soo Hyuk thought hard about how to deal with this situation.
“Can you kill her?”
Yeon Jeung asked quietly.
“I might be able to if we were outside this realm, but It is going to be difficult here.”
The damage has been reduced by 40% but considering that the High-Class Demons died in seconds after contacting Hellfire, and a demon specialized in physical attacks has no way to dispel it.
However, Hertana also avoided flame spells. What if she dodges Hellfire as well? 100,000 mana would disappear into the air.
“Then should I use it?”
Yeon Jeung asked again at Soo Hyuk’s answer
Although Yeon Jeung had a special job, the amount of experience required to level up was not much.
Unlike Soo Hyuk, he leveled up steadily and acquired a skill that could be called an ultimate.
It was an ultimate skill worthy of the Guardian job.
“That?”
Soo Hyuk asked a question, and then shook his head.
“Let’s see the situation first. That skill has a 5-day cooldown.”
The problem was the cooldown of the ultimate skill. Once used, it cannot be used for 5 days.
Soo Hyuk was planning to use Yeon Jeung’s ultimate skill in the battle against the final boss, Kyrad.
“Ah, you are so shocked that you can’t come up with words.”
Hertana began to slowly approach swinging her hammer.
“Magic Missile.”
Soo Hyuk fired a magic missile that cost the least mana.

*Bang*
Hertana swung her hammer in the arrow’s direction.
*Bam*
The magic missile exploded as it collided with the hammer.
“?”
It wasn’t a direct blow to Hertana, but the effect was strong. Her right hand holding the hammer was trembling.
“Nonsense. Is this magical power contained in this place?”
Hertana calmed her right hand and continued with a look of disbelief.
“I must kill you here.”
Then she no longer walked slowly. And disappeared from her place again.
“Soo Hyuk! Shield!”
“Holy Shield!”
Soo Hyuk reflexively cast a shield at the cry of Yeon Jeung. The cracked shield was regenerated.
*Bam*
Hertana’s hammer exploded over the shield. But did the first attack contain more power?
In this attack, there were only slight cracks unlike before.
Soo Hyuk looked at Hertana with relief.
Hertana was looking at her shield with bewildered eyes.
“Hell Fire.”
Now was the perfect opportunity. Soo Hyuk cast Hell Fire towards her.
*Swoosh*
Hell Fire appeared.
*Swish*
Once again, Hertana disappeared from her place when Hellfire appeared.
‘Damn.’
Soo Hyuk cursed inwardly. It was a golden opportunity and a last chance, but it was missed.
“Ahhh!”
However, Soo Hyuk couldn’t help but be puzzled by Hertana’s subsequent screams.
She must have avoided it, but why did she scream? Is it possible that moving so fast is harmful to her body? Soo Hyuk reflexively looked at where the scream had come from.
‘Huh.’
And then he was surprised.
‘She did not completely avoid it?’
He thought she had escaped. However, there was a small flame on Hertana’s left arm.
That was Hell Fire.
“Hertana-sama!”
Eshtar and the other demons shouted in surprise.
“Dispel! hurry!”
“But the mana.”
Soo Hyuk was not the only one who had difficulties using magic because mana was frozen.
Demons also had a hard time using magic.
Also, isn’t it Hell Fire? Even if they were out of the field, it was a very difficult spell to dispel.
‘Nice!’
Soo Hyuk smiled broadly as he watched Hell Fire gradually expand its scope.
At this rate, Hertana would face her death just like her other High-Class Demons.
‘The rest is a problem, but…’
Of course, Hertana is not alone. There were other Demons as well.
L
They can be easily killed with magic, but that was hard to do now that Soo Hyuk can’t use his spells like usual.
‘They lost their focus.’
The good news was that they were focusing on Hertana.
“Yeon Jeung.”
Soo Hyuk quietly called Yeon Jeung.
“Yea.”
Yeon Jeung replied as Soo Hyuk continued.
“Let’s retreat.”

“What?”
“Now is our chance.”
At Soo Hyuk’s words, Yeon Jeung confirmed the situation once again. Then quickly turned the wagon back to the hole.
“Oh! Eshtar! The Humans!”
While the Demons were checking on Hertana. A Demon found Soo Hyuk and Yeon Jeung retreating and alerted Eshtar.
“Hargas take the rest and chase after them! I’m taking the princess to Area 22 to dispel this spell!”
However, Soo Hyuk and Yeon Jeung were out of Eshtar’s interest. What was important to him was Hertana’s safety.
Hellfire had to be removed from Hertana’s body as soon as possible.
“Roger! Allak, Kaviras. Follow me!”
Hargas started chasing after Soo Hyuk and Yeon Jeung with the two of them.
‘Only three people are chasing?’
Soo Hyuk thought after checking the people following him.
‘I’m glad.’
He was worried that a dozen or more would follow.
‘Can we survive with this shield?’
Soo Hyuk looked at the shield.
There was a small crack due to Hertana’s attack. But it was unlikely that the High-Class Demons that followed would be as strong as Hertana.
‘Still, I don’t know.’
“Fire Spear, Magic Missile.”
Soo Hyuk started throwing spells at the Demons that followed behind them.
“Be careful!”
Was it because he saw what happened to Hertana? Or was it because he had seen his brethren that died earlier?
Hargath alerted Allak and Kaviras.
‘Is it possible with this number of people?’
He came here because of the order, but can the three of them catch the two humans?
‘No.’
No matter how much he thought about it, he didn’t see any possibility.
‘If they go on like this and go out of the zone…’
Now, mana is frozen, and the wizard can’t use his magic properly. But what if he went out of the zone?
*Swoosh*
Hargas raised his hand and signaled to stop.
Allak and Kaviras stopped moving at his signal and looked at the rear of the wagon moving away with mixed emotions.
“What? Why aren’t they following us?”
Knowing that the chase was over, Soo Hyuk tilted his head. Why did they suddenly stop chasing?
“Soo Hyuk, look at the front.”
Yeon Jeung said. Soo Hyuk turned to look forward to his call and found a green line.
“Is this line the end of the domain?”
“Yeah, I think so.”
The wagon passed the green line.
[You have left the realm of Asman.]
A message appeared.
Soo Hyuk quickly checked his mana. It was filling up at a fast rate.
“That’s right Yeon Jeung.”
Soo Hyuk smiled and said to Yeon-young.
“Stop the wagon.”
They were not chasing them, so they didn’t have to go away from Alin.
“Let’s find out about this domain.”
He also wondered how long the duration of Asman’s realm was.
“Yea.”
Yeon Jeung stopped the wagon at Soo Hyuk’s words.
Soo Hyuk opened the quest window, while looking at the green line.
And checked the quest ‘Alin Capture’.
He captured many High-Class Demons. He anticipated how high his contribution had become.
{Alin Siege}
The war has begun.
Defeat the Demons of the Kyrad faction and capture the castle that was announced!
[Contribution: 81,932,797 / ???]
Quest Reward: ???
‘The Demons caught at Alin gave more contribution.’
Is it because it’s a fortress? The Demons captured here offered different amounts of contributions. The Intermediate-Class Demons offered different amounts as well.
Soo Hyuk then confirmed the quest ‘Alin Reconnaissance’.
‘Of course, it’s 100%, right?’
It was to check the reconnaissance rate.
{Alin Reconnaissance}
Reconnaissance to Alin Castle!
[Reconnaissance rate: 259%]
Quest reward: 1 million contributions
However, after confirming the quest, Soo Hyuk was bewildered.
‘259? Over 100?’
Of course, since it is a %, he thought that 100% would be the end. But it was over 100.
‘Could it be because we checked inside the camp? Or because of Hertana?’
He did not know why it went over 100.
‘Would I get more rewards?’
The reward for the quest ‘Alin Reconnaissance’ was 1 million contributions.
Since the reconnaissance rate has exceeded 100%, he wondered if additional contributions or rewards would be given.
It was then.
“Soo Hyuk, do you think it’s over?”
Soo Hyuk reflexively checked the green line at Yeon Jeung’s words.
*Swoosh*
The green line started to disappear.
‘About 20 minutes.’
After checking the time, Soo Hyuk frowned.
‘The duration at this range is 20 minutes.’
Asman’s realm had an unbelievable effect.
‘It’s a scam.’
But even the duration didn’t make sense.
‘Will it drop if we kill Hertana?’
Asman’s realm was proclaimed through her necklace, which Hertana was carrying.
“What are you going to do? Are we going back?”
Yeon Jeung asked
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Soo Hyuk answered and closed the quest window.
He was also curious about Hertana’s condition and had to find out how many minutes of cooldown she had to wait to use Asman’s realm declaration again.
It’s unlikely, but what if it’s possible to declare indefinitely without a cooldown?
‘It’s terrible.’
Just thinking about it was terrifying.
“Okay, let’s go.”
Yeon Jeung started driving the wagon after hearing Soo Hyuk’s words.
And after some time, Soo Hyuk and Yeon Jeung were able to reach the hole in the castle walls.
“Hey, it’s the humans!”
“Ugh!”
“The humans are back!”
There were many Demons repairing the hole.
The Demons discovered Soo Hyuk and Yeon Jeung then shouted in a startled voice.
“Fire Storm.”
Soo Hyuk cast Fire Storm while listening to the cry of the Demons.
*Swoosh*
The fire storm approached the Demons.

“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
