Inside the secret communication room, Elder Tong hurried to take a seat. The new situation at the desert wasteland sent a shockwave through the whole frontline. Where did these drones come from?
The desert wasteland appeared to be connected to a different dimension, one that was different from the one connected to the tree farm mutated area. There was no locust but there was the Flying Locust. Therefore, it made it difficult to discern the loyalty of these new appearances. The other party probably understood this so both the plane and tank drones carried banners that said in both Chinese and English. “We need to talk.”
Interacting with the unknown was always risky, sometimes it was better to destroy them with a missile but currently Phecda had nothing to lose. Conversation with the enemy might even garner important information. Therefore, Elder Tong and Yao Sinian decided to initiate a conversation. At that moment, at the border of the desert wasteland, Phecda sent out a tropp of pilotless drones.
Based on the technicians’ analysis, the drones from the other party were not manufactured on Earth but they did appear to have good quality. Under the group’s watchful gaze, Phecda’s drones crossed the border. They stopped about 100 metres from Mysterium’s drones. This was going to be a historical moment so everyone was nervous. Remotely controlled by communicator, Phecda’s drones broadcasted the following, “Who are you? Part of the Flying Locust?”
Soon after, the Mysterium drone responded with the same broadcast. An even male voice said, “We wish to ask the same question. We are not the Flying Locust you mention. A group of cultists appeared here riding on strange birds and caused great devastation on our city. Then many unregistered missiles bombarded this area and their targets were all the cultists. Therefore, we have reason to believe you, from another world, are also fighting the cultists.”

This information confused everyone. Flying Locust also suddenly appeared at the mutated area in the world where these Mysterium’s drones came from? But Phecda knew that Flying Locust did not originate from Earth… Could the desert wasteland be connected to a third dimension? These thoughts crossed Elder Tong’s mind. A greater power at a higher dimension was helping them. Dreamlands and foreign world had proven the theory of multiverse and parallel universes. Then could Mysterium be their ally from a parallel universe? Mysterium appeared to have come to the same conclusion as well from the fact that Phecda had gone after the Flying Locust…
As these thoughts bounced in Elder Tong’s mind, more concepts joined them. They appeared to be left there in his mind. ‘Multiverse, coincidence, Chinese… Could Mysterium be their counterpart in a parallel universe?’ Elder Tong voiced this thought. It shocked everyone but it also gained some agreement. They decided to ask to find out. “Our city was also heavily devastated by the Flying Locust, our city is called Mo Bei.”
Soon, the Mysterium’s drones answered, “Our Mo Bei City was the one being assaulted as well.” A complicated emotion rose in both parties. They continued to exchange information and it verified the concept of parallel universe. They had the same Earth with similar geography, they had Phecda/Mysterium… they were the same but not completely similar. As interesting as it was, they did not have time to go into details, furthermore, both parties were still cautious of each other. Elder Tong, Yao Sinian and other higher ups would not take these information at face value and it appeared like it was the same for the other party.
However as the conversation continued, a statistic was revealed. Mysterium World only had one mutated area. 200 Flying Locust members arrived at Mo Bei City and started to self-destruct. It sent the whole city into chaos. Currently, things had been brought under control and the related personnel quarantined. Thankfully, there was not much casualty, only 3 soldiers had died. Hearing these reports, Wang Ruoxiang’s heart chilled. If this was true…

At the Mysterium World, the Flying Locust came without warning. At least for Phecda World, they had the tree farm incident to warn them of the imminent danger. Mo Bei City at Mysterium World was completely unprepared for the invasion. About 100000 citizens were infected. Even though Mysterium treated this seriously, they had underestimated the situation’s severity. Their patients were still in the first stage of Locust Sickness, they suffered from agitation, lack of appetite, these were symptoms that appeared easily rectified… Mysterium still had no idea Locust Sickness was caused by DNA mutation.
“Elder Tong, 100000 people…” Wang Ruoxiang said urgently, “There has to be a reason why the Flying Locust is doing this. Why would they infect these people? I suspect the patients are a kind of sacrifice. They have 100000 people, we have 13000 people, that is not a small number…”
At that moment, the Phecda drones intercepted some video signals. After multiple inspections, the monitor played them. Everyone’s heart squeezed as they saw another Mo Bei City appear on screen. The geography was similar but the cityscape was different. Then there was the chaotic recording from when the Flying Locust invaded. The faces of the Flying Locust belonged to the missing students and staff Phecda had been looking for. Sun Haoran, Mei Yiyang, He Zhiyi, Yang Yi, Zheng Meihan, these 5 were the ones who participated in Wang Jia Er’s party. So far, only Lee Yuhan remained missing. It was unclear whether he did not join this invasion or he was not captured on film.
Mysterium said there were 200 members of Flying Locust that invaded them. Combine that with the 100 from Phecda, there were 300 Flying Locust in this multiverse invasion. Among the carriers, there were still 7 that remained unfound.
Phecda had more information regarding Locust Illness, but Mysterium had more understanding when it came to rituals and spells. “A ritualistic energy permeates this mutated area. We believe a joint effort from both dimensions is necessary to disperse it.”
Elder Tong and the rest knew that the mutated area was abnormal but they had no idea it was thick with ritualistic energy. They had no technology to verify this statement either. Was Mysterium really more advanced in the study of spells than Phecda… or was this a trick?
Then the Mysterium’s drone said, “We have a hypothesis. One of our important leaders, Captain Yu suffered from multiple hallucinations. He claimed he saw a young man from a parallel world, he saw him conducting an autopsy on zombies and partaking in supernatural events. Recently, there was an unknown young male that suddenly appeared at Captain Yu’s house. He conducted secret research with Captain Yu. We cannot find any information about him but we are sure he is familiar with supernatural events. We wonder if you know this person? Is it possible that he came from your world?”
Elder Tong’s heart jumped. Young man? Zombie autopsy? Sudden appearance?
Yao Sinian and Wang Ruoxiang leaned forward nervously. Their minds went to the same place. Then Mysterium sent over a new visual information. The video was soon broadcasted on the monitor. There were many video recordings and they could clearly see a young man that they were very familiar with walking alongside a man with a bushy beard…
Gu Jun, it was Gu Jun.
