Chapter 1016: 1016
Listening to Si Mobai’s words, Feng Tianlan frowned and looked down at the safety rune hanging around her neck. She thought for a moment, then reached out to take it off. She opened it directly and pulled out a folded piece of paper from the inside.
Once she unfolded it to take a look, she noticed that it was nothing more than a normal rune and it was not what she had imagined would be written inside. She turned it over and there was nothing.
“There’s nothing.” She thought her mother would have left some words in it so that she had something to find. But now it looked like she had thought too much.
“You can ask Shen Bokang where they went at that time,” Si Mobai said.
Feng Tianlan made a light sound of agreement and then folded the rune again to put it back inside. She touched the unusually silky safety rune and then hid it in her clothes.
“It’s still early. I’ll take you out for a spin.” Si Mobai held Feng Tianlan’s hand.
Feng Tianlan lifted her eyes to take a quick look then nodded slightly. She did not see Si Mobai casually take her small box as well.
Si Mobai brought Feng Tianlan out to buy things, and he even bought white orchids. He wanted to replace everything that had been auctioned off with what he bought. The peonies in the courtyard must also be replaced with white orchids.
So, it was already evening after they finished shopping. Feng Tianlan looked at the sunset. Si Mobai bundled up his long robe, brandished a hoe, and tilled the soil in the courtyard to then plant white orchids.
“Did you plant those white orchids in Si Feng Pavilion’s courtyard, too?” Feng Tianlan poured a cup of tea and went to Mobai’s side to hand it to him.

Si Mobai raised his head and took the cup of tea, drinking from it elegantly. He said, “That is our love flower. How can I let someone else plant them?”
Feng Tianlan stood on her toes and used her sleeves to help him wipe the sweat from his face. She beamed as she said, “Mobai is right. Since it is our love flower, then I also want to help.”
“You just watch. I’m in charge of planting, while you’re responsible for pruning.” Si Mobai handed her the teacup and then lowered his head to quickly plant a tender kiss on her soft lips.
Listening to his words, Feng Tianlan smiled even brighter and said, “Okay.”
“There’s also another saying. Does Lan’er want to hear it?” Si Mobai leaned on the hoe and peered down at her tenderly.
“Well?” Feng Tianlan looked at him in wonder.
“I am responsible for the planting while my beloved princess is in charge of the birth.” When he saw that Feng Tianlan’s face instantly turned red, Si Mobai could not resist reaching out to pinch her cheek. It felt genuinely nice, a little firm, but also very tender.

Feng Tianlan raised her hand to swat his hand away. She said, “So dirty. And I’m not giving birth to anything with you.”
She was not married yet. How could she give birth?
Si Mobai grinned and watched Feng Tianlan return to her seat before continuing to plant the white orchids. It felt really wonderful to enjoy this calm happiness with Lan’er.
Feng Tianlan sat off to the side, watching Si Mobai plant the white orchids. After he finished planting, the sun had already set. The color of the sky had turned dark and he was still building a swing.

“Mobai.” Feng Tianlan only felt her heart filled with happiness.
Si Mobai glanced up at her and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing.”
Si Mobai’s lips curled up into a smile and he continued the task at hand.
“Mobai.” Feng Tianlan watched him carefully build the swing and could not help crying out.
“I’m here,” Si Mobai answered.
“Mobai,” Feng Tianlan shouted again.
One cry after another, full of deep affection, made Si Mobai stopped what he was doing. He looked up and gazed at her while he asked, “Lan’er, do you have something to say to me?”
Feng Tianlan shook her head in reply and said, “No, I just wanted to call out to you.”
