My Unconventional Delivery System! Chapter 43

Both of them were pointing fingers at each other, this meeting was absolutely out of Kyle's expectations, he didn't think he'd encounter Meru here, coincidences like this one don't happen often.
The woman accompanying Meru asked her quizzically. "Someone you know?"
"Yeah! He's a fellow classmate." Meru nodded.
"I see."
While they were talking, Kyle observed said woman and for some reason he found her weird, why, you ask? The reason was clear, while talking she was actively avoiding him, like she was forcibly talking in an angle in which she wouldn't need to look at him. He didn't know why, but the woman seemed to have an aversion towards him, on careful scrutiny he found out she was trying to avoid looking at men in general.
Because of this unique trait, Kyle was instantly aware of the woman's identity, it all clicked, she was none other than the one dubbed to be the strongest Ryū in existence, the alumni student of Nango-Kuren High School, Ren also known as the Gentōryū (Billowing Dragon).
She had a tall figure with grey hair tied in twin pigtails, her eyes were a deep emerald green, she was wearing a mini skirt along with a sleeveless shirt tucked inside her skirt, she had generous breasts, C Cups at the very least, along with an alluring figure. She had a tie wrapped around her left thigh (the said tie was given to her by Meru). She also often equipped her custom made sword as her main weapon.
Ren had a nasty habit of changing her clothes during battle whenever her clothes were torn (even with the smallest tear). Despite her strong integrity as well as toughness, Ren had troubles with men due to her assumptions that men were perverse beings (she claims that all men are actively trying to flirt with her, which she considered to be vulgar). As a result, she cannot even speak to boys face-to-face and turns away from them, this aversion was slowly turning into a misandry towards all men, this was one of the reasons Meru was worried about her, but Ren was unaware of her concerns.
That was the basic info he had on her. Knowing this he didn't mind her behavior. After the slight conversation between the arriving girls finished they sat down on the empty chairs opposite of Kyle and Tohru.
"But, Kyle what a coincidence! I didn't think that I'd meet you here, and I didn't forget what you did yesterday, how dare you escape!" Meru spoke with a pout, her tone of mock anger showed that she wasn't angry with him.
"Hey, I have my reasons, I can't entertain both of you, it's troublesome and annoying… also your partner seems to not like my presence?" He glanced at Ren who was looking somewhere else, she remained silent throughout, as if uncaring of what he may think of her.
"Oh! Ahahaha this is Ren. She's actually a former student of our school, right now she's in college and don't worry she has her reasons for doing that, she definitely doesn't hate you or your presence, I can assure you!" She explained with a smile, reassuring him.

"Is that so? Seems Sus." Kyle joked a bit; though he knew about the reason for Ren's behavior he still decided to ask, this way he won't look overly suspicious. He was about to make some short talks with them but a bone chilling voice interrupted him, making him shiver in fright, even though the chill wasn't directed towards him.
"Kyle… you two seem to be close, huh? Would you mind introducing her to me?" The dragon maid muttered with a smile, a smile that wasn't really a smile as the frost in her tone and expression made it clear that depending on the answer, a world of pain was waiting for the one who earned her ire.
'Oh shoot, I almost forgot about her in my initial bewilderment at meeting Meru here.' He faked a cough to get his bearings right and pondered how best to introduce them to each other. "Ahem-! So, Tohru let me introduce Meru to you, she's a fellow student of my school, she's in the same year as me just in different classrooms, and she's probably my friend?"
Meru slammed the table in anger, said table trembled as if it were going to break any moment, she exclaimed in a wronged tone. "What do you mean by probably your friend?! I thought we were friends all along!"
She complained vehemently; to Meru they were already friends from the day they met in front of the supermarket, so it was justifiable for her to get angered. Kyle however completely ignored her and proceeded to introduce the girls. "And Meru this is Tohru, she's currently living with me."
Kyle's answer broke some circuits in Meru's brain, she first froze, then she screamed a shrill scream, like that of a banshee wailing their sorrows. "HAAAAHHHHH?!!"
Her scream gathered the unwanted attention of many, she quickly apologized to them, her expression embarrassed, she quickly looked at Kyle angrily, her thoughts were clear, she was blaming him for this.
Kyle naturally noticed it, he retorted inwardly. 'How is this my fault?! It's clearly yours.' Moments of silence ensued which got broken by Meru as she asked in a noticeably quivering tone. "You.. two are living together… alone?"
Kyle shook his head, instantly resolving that misunderstanding with his following words. "No, of course not why would you even think of something like that? We're living with my aunt and little sister."
Kyle's words relieved her of the burden she was feeling in her heart. She sighed a deep sigh of relief, but when she realized her actions she felt muddled. 'Why did I suddenly feel relieved? No forget it, why are they going out together alone in an amusement park? No way! Could it be…'
She wanted to ask him to confirm her suspicions, but she was also afraid of the outcome, the outcome of her doubts to be proven right, she felt hesitant… moments trickled away and she took a deep solemn breath, gritting her teeth and steeling her resolve she asked in a slightly stuttering tone. "You two… are both of you going out?"

Surprised by this unexpected question, Kyle was momentarily left in a daze, he didn't consider she would ask this question, that too in that tone, this left him thinking. 'Suddenly asking a question about my relationship with Tohru? Isn't this too… no that's impossible.'
He had his suspicions on this matter, presently though he had no way to confirm them, he needed to observe and analyze some things before he could come to a conclusion. His gaze shifted to Meru's, she was shaking slightly as she waited for him to answer, and answer he did. "If you're talking about us going out as a couple, no we aren't." 'yet' he said the last part in his mind, not willing to stretch this matter.
Meru again breathed out a sigh, relief washing over her soul. Tohru though, was sulking in disappointment, Kyle's words had hurt her and put her in a terrible mood, her perfect day was suddenly not so perfect anymore. Her gaze landed on Meru, it was a gaze of deep hatred and seething rage, her thoughts becoming increasingly chaotic. 'This damn human!'
Meru felt that a predator, one standing at the apex of the food chain, had bore its wicked gaze on her, it's intentions were to devour her whole, goosebumps formed all over her body as a deep chill crept up her spine; this was a feeling unlike any she had encountered in her life. If she were to be a normal girl she would've been trembling violently in absolute fright, she wasn't one however, her iron toned willpower was not something any human could imagine to have.
She redirected her gaze to the location she felt that malicious stare had come from, what she found was Tohru looking at her, her expression one of malice, Meru realised that deep ominous aura was actually coming from this impossibly beautiful woman. She also understood that Tohru was an extremely strong individual, someone she could never hope to win in a fight with; how could she? Her gaze itself was enough to almost make her faint; even so, Tohru wasn't meant for backing down.
The girls were locked in a predatory stare off, neither willing to back off and retract their hostile intentions. Tohru was a bit nonplussed at Meru's iron will, not just anyone was able to withstand her intent like the way Meru did, for being a weak human she wasn't half bad, it still however didn't change the fact that she was the reason her perfect day was ruined, nor was it able to thwart the deep detest she fell for Meru.
Kyle noticed that the atmosphere was slowly growing hostile, it was reaching a degree where if he didn't intervene right now something bad would surely happen to Meru, so he hastily, but firmly added. "Though we're not going out together, we are however currently having a date in this park, getting to know each other and spending some quality time together, we're having fun, this day has been quite an enjoyable one if I say so myself."
The words didn't have time to even leave fully from his mouth, the ominous predatory presence instantly disappeared in a jiffy, making people question if the feeling was hallucinogenic or not, it wasn't, just that the one who was making said presence had an emotional spectrum like that of a switch. No sooner had the presence disappeared, Meru instantly started sucking greedily for air, she wasn't even aware that in the midst of the stare off she had actually stopped breathing, she would've fainted from oxygen loss if just a few more seconds were to pass. Even now, she felt like she would pass out, feeling dizzy and nauseated.
On the other hand, the orchestrator of said presence was blushing deeply, her round bubbly cheeks were flushed in deep reddish pink hue. She was smiling again, it reverted back to the one she had throughout this date. It was obvious that she was very happy Kyle admitted that they were on a date, his words had a sense of promise, the promise of expectations. Many might not feel his words to be special, but to Tohru they were; they were incomparably precious.
As her mood had turned out for the better, she let Meru off for now, Kyle sighed in relief as thoughts passed in his mind. 'This was rather a dangerous situation for Meru… but I guess it was to be expected, it's already a miracle that Tohru didn't kill her. I should try my best so that during this time that we're together Tohru could at the very least be able to tolerate and accept Meru and Ren. They are my friends after all, well acquaintances if I had to be accurate, so it shouldn't be hard to convince Tohru.'
Ren noticed that there was something erroneous going on with her friend, she temporarily forgot about her dissatisfaction and slight misandry with men, and worriedly started inquiring, the loli gamer girl, about her well being.
The atmosphere took a turn and came to an awkward stop. Kyle was thinking of doing something to freshen up this situation, otherwise this atmosphere would lead to dampen their already bad mood further. "So, girls what do you want to eat? It's my treat."

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
