Unknown to the person beside her Lana held his hand and asked softly "Hi.. Do it fast ok.. I have something to tell you after kids fell asleep"

She whispered as if she was trying not to let anyone hear her.

"Cassie… You are so boring. You always say that you love me but see, the moment you are with the kids you forget me"

Even though Aiden could not see anything he could feel that she was pouting.

"How can you be so partial? I know you love kids more than their mother. I really hate you "

Lana knew, Caspian was not so talkative and always kept a serious face around so she had to initiate the conversation first. She had always been worried about the fire which was igniting in him, the fire of revenge. But she did not want him to burn himself in that fire.

"Cassie. Last time I eloped leaving you all alone here to suffer but… but I want.. I want you to elope with me this time. There is no need for anything. You know I especially came back for you right?"

She wanted to tell him all these things but facing him and talking with him was a bit hard for her after all she was the one who left him all alone to suffer. So in her eyes, darkness was a great advantage for her.

"Cassie, I don't really need money. My kids are smart and so you are. Do you know they are as smart as you? They can survive anywhere. After meeting those 2 people again I don't want you to involve yourself with them. You know I have no one beside you and you were the one who promised me to take care of me and the kids together right?"

Aiden was hearing everything and he knew it was not right to hear at all so he said in a low voice "I.." But before that she pulled his hands and he fell on the bed beside her.

Laying side by side she continued

"Hear me out will you?"

She said and he tried to stand up from the bed

"Don't move…"

She hugged his hand and said "You smell so manly today" She chuckled and tried to find his hair to ruffle them and in this process her fingertips lightly touched his lips and hair.

It's not like she could do this to any man freely so she was pretty sure it was Caspian. He was the only one with whom she had never felt fear and nervousness.

As for why he was not talking, it was simply he was annoyed by her and whenever he was angry he would not talk a single word.

She hugged his hand tightly and her head was near his biceps "Cassie let's not burn ourselves ok? It was hard enough to live for both of us.. They had known my presence and sooner or later they will come to me and try to force my for the property and all"

She said while patting lightly on his sturdy chest "Promise me.. Promise me that you would never come out to help me from the front. I am not saying to abandon me but just don't reveal yourself otherwise they will kill you and if anything happens to you how am I supposed to survive?"

She said as if she was coaxing him to keep himself safe. Aiden was confused about what was going on and who had been making trouble for them. There were a lot of questions in his mind but she was not letting him talk.

"They don't even know about Rain and Alex. They might be in danger too. So there is only you who can keep them safe. Promise me that you would never do anything which will make you and my kids suffer. "

She finally gave him the chance to talk but he was silent and was not even making a move. She thought he was still angry so she said "How could you be like this Cassie? Don't forget that if Rain and Alex are my kids then…"

She let his hand go and sat up

'If those are her kids then? Then what? He is the father ? I don't believe it.. Just who in the world he is?'

Aiden was holding his breath and was waiting for her reply.

"Nevermind Cassie. There is nothing wrong with the lights. I was the one who did it.."

She said in a low voice.

"Cassie. I was afraid you would not hear from me after what happened yesterday. Let them do whatever they want to. You just can't expose our relationship no matter what.."

She took a deep breath "You are alive and this is a huge blessing from our mom and dad. Don't just put your life in danger. You know better than anyone else, I might be a mother of two in people's eyes but I have 3 kids including you "

She stood up but as soon as she did someone clutched her wrist and pulled her hard towards him

"You are not Caspian. Who are you ?"

Her whole body shivered as soon as she fell onto his sturdy muscle but still she asked in a tough voice.

"I did try to tell you but you were the one who kept on talking and hugging me. I was afraid that you might even kiss me but what a waste…"

He said in a calm and hoarse voice at the same time.

She struggled to come out of his embrace but the more she struggled the more he was holding her tight.

Her soft bosom was rubbing onto his sturdy chest making him feel a strange sense of hotness in his body.

"Don't move"

He held her by her waist and slowly stood up.

She quickly searched the remote in her shorts pocket but there was none.

She had planned everything from the start. Caspian had told her that she was not coming but still she thought it was him and opened the door for him and even put off the lights of the whole apartment and led him into her room to have some serious talk. But the question here was 'Who the hell this man is and how the hell he entered the building let alone apartment'

At the moment, when they did not find the remote control and thought that she was with an unknown man in the room her body gave up.

"Thump"

With a loud thump she fell on the floor. Aiden quickly went to the kitchen to find the remote as she was in there when he first came.

He pushed the buttons and the whole apartment lit up.

He went back to the bedroom and knocked but no one answered.

He stood up there for a while but she did not respond so he swiftly entered the room to check.

He went inside but found no one. He looked on the bed and the side of the bedroom but there was no one.

He did not see her leave the room so he was pretty so she was still there.

He still searched for her by standing in the same position and was shocked.

Lana was squatting in the corner most of the room and was shaking wildly.

He stood rooted there not knowing what to do and what not to.

"Miss Lana…!" He called her softly.

There was no answer from her side so he said again

"I… I just called you to have a cup of coffee with me but you said you were scared and might end up dying.. before I could even say anything you hung up"

He did not know why he was giving explanations to her at this moment. Never in his life he had explained anything to anyone but right now he was trying his best so that she would not misunderstand him.

He continued "This… You know you, yourself told me your address and since I was the owner of the building, there was no difficulty in reaching you"

He simply said he was the owner but did not tell her how out of nowhere he became the owner of this lowly building. It might be extravagant to some people but the buildings he owned were ten thousand times better than this.

"I thought something was up when the lights went off… I seriously didn't want to scare you so I said nothing and tried to repair the fault first and then to explain to you. I.. I have no other thoughts, I swear. "

He said with all the softness and patience he had in him.

Even though he was angry at first with her but after somehow understanding her relationship with Caspian he was calm to some extent.
