Join Hydra?
Dr. Zola stood still. He didn't know how to answer.
If it were someone else, he would probably still be half-heartedly seeking proof and prepared to observe secretly for a period to test issues such as loyalty and personal ability.
Finding good prospects for the organization was a good thing.
But these words come out of Luke's mouth. It was as if the President himself wore a red armband and volunteered to join.
It looks extraordinarily ridiculous and lacks the slightest credibility.
Not everyone is like Trump, willing to endure humiliation, secretly sneaking into the White House to bring down the U.S. empire, taking it as his mission.
Such people with lofty ideals are in the minority after all.
"Hahahahaha ..."
Dr. Zola gave a fake laugh and said, "Major General is really funny."
S.H.I.E.L.D's Director said he would join hydra; it would look like a King leading the rebellion against himself.
The Allied Superman, who personally crushed Red Skull and defeated Hydra; the legendary hero who flew to Berlin to end World War II, and an army Major General is leading S.H.I.E.L.D against Atlantis.
Dr. Zola counted the long list of dazzling titles, as well as the familiar legends, and then looked at Luke, who took a sip of his Lafite '82. His face showed an awkward smile without losing politeness.
If you look at the above remarks as a joke.
This Major General has a sense of humor similar to that of the Eskimos who live in the Arctic.
"I'm not a member of Hydra anymore!"
Dr. Zola stood up and said, "I did work for Red Skull before, but I was forced to do so out of necessity. Deep down, I am a devout and committed pacifist."
"I hate war and hate killing! Since the Allied Powers, under the leadership of Major General, sent the Axis of Evil to hell, I have finally found my true calling and don't have to live in guilt."

"Joining S.H.I.E.L.D. has redeemed my soul! I tell myself every day to get rid of my past sins and become a new person!"
"What's more, everyone in S.H.I.E.L.D is talented. Mr. Howard Stark is a good person to talk to!"
"Compared to the present life, the time in Hydra was simply hell; it was so torturous!"
Luke couldn't help putting down his wine glass after listening to this sincere heartfelt remark.
It was worthy of the old Hydra that has lived for almost a century!
His ability to bootlick could compete with the politicians in the White House.
"Dr. Zola, don't be nervous. When I said I wanted to join Hydra, I meant it from the bottom of my heart."
Luke showed his signature affectionate smile and turned on his 'fooling people' mode, "You heard all those things I said to Steve just now."
"I am not on the side of the White House and the Pentagon, just as Hydra is not fully committed to helping the Third Reich rule the world."
"S.H.I.E.L.D has been seeking ways to get rid of the constraints from the country; the war with Atlantis is one of them."
'Are you a traitor??'
Dr. Zola held the wine glass with both hands. His eyes looked horrified.
S.H.I.E.L.D Director is starting a coup!?
No one would believe it if word got out.
Dr. Zola frowned. 'This Major General is not really thinking of joining Hydra, is he?'
"Red Skull's philosophy is too ... traditional, purely for the sake of power and ambition. But he has a saying I appreciate, 'There is no flag in the future!'"
Luke patted Dr. Zola on the shoulder and whispered, "The interests of the country are firmly tied to the politicians in the White House and the capitalist groups behind the scenes. I don't have to work for these people, nor do I want to be a tool or a weapon."

"That's why I'm going to join Hydra. I value the future of humankind more than wearing the Stars and Stripes."
"For a long time, you have used Operation Paperclip to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. covertly, isn't that why you changed your face and resurfaced with a new image?"
"So, think about it, what could be more effective than developing S.H.I.E.L.D. into Hydra?"
Dr. Zola blinked and tried to sober up.
However, in the face of Luke's persuasion, he felt it was justifiable and flawless.
To this, the eloquent Major General wasn't surprised.
Because he redeemed Ra's al Ghul's skill card - [Weaving Logic]!
[Use crude language, rudimentary reasoning, and impose logic upon a normal person to make them agree with you. The success rate depends on the target.]
The League of Assassins, led by Ra's al Ghul, is a villainous organization that sees humans as rotting muscles and necrotic veins that need to be cleaned periodically.
Anyone with a bit of intelligence and some ability to think critically wouldn't consider such behavior reasonable.
Except for Batman, Ra's al Ghul has successfully brainwashed many people.
For example, Bain, daughter Talia, grandson Damian and so on.
Ra's al Ghul's every appearance was laced with words such as, 'Forest fires burn plants and animals; they will grow better next year.' This ridiculous statement would force his logic on other people.
"I know that within the Hydra, there is a distant legend about the Inhuman gods. But, do you really want to welcome back a monster from thousands of years ago and worship him as a god?"
"Instead of believing in the so-called alien, worship me! Superman! Wouldn't a powerful being who can fly into the sky, flatten mountains and crush steel with his hands and feet fit the definition of 'god' than an alien that no one even knows what he looks like? Besides, I don't mind at all if you kneel at my feet and worship me."
Dr. Zola continued to remain silent, but his mind was in a state of shock.
He had heard Red Skull mention about the Inhuman God inadvertently.
In theory, this is highly classified information within Hydra.
'Is there a mole in the organization?'
Almost immediately, the idea popped into Dr. Zola's head.
Immediately afterward, the former Chief Scientist of Hydra somehow felt that Luke's words seemed to make sense.
Judging from Superman's ability, it was no exaggeration to say that he is a god on earth.
If it were in the Mayan period when the Inhumans appeared, he might have been regarded as a god.
"Major General, Sir..."
Dr. Zola still wanted to continue to show his contribution and get rid of the suspicion of being a member of Hydra.
Luke waved his hand and interrupted, "Doctor, if you're not Hydra, then, I hope you are. If you are a member of Hydra, then even better. You can be my introduction to the organization."
"Red Skull doesn't necessarily want to bring back the Inhuman God; he cares more about the Tesseract. As for the other leaders, they all have their plans. After thousands of years of secret development, Hydra has long lost its original appearance. Although its name has not changed, its core is different."
"Including you, Dr. Zola. What is your purpose in entering Hydra? It can't be to worship a 'god' that you have never heard of!
At this point, the short, pudgy Dr. Zola sighed and stopped pretending.
He held up his glasses that had slipped down and smiled bitterly, "The beautiful promise of immortality."
"Red Skull said that the Inhuman God could give everyone eternal life. I am a scientist who knows that physical decay is the law of nature and impossible to stop, but I yearn for spiritual immortality!"

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.
