Marvel's Superman Chapter 161

The black sedan pulled slowly into the center of Greenwich Village and stopped in front of a three-story building.
"Here we are. "
The young driver, dressed in a straight military uniform, respectfully pulled open the car door.
Luke, who was leaning in the back seat, nodded and stepped out of the car.
His eyes fell on the door sign; then, he tilted his head to look at the round window at the top.
"This is it. "
Luke smiled at the corners of his mouth as he made sure he didn't find the wrong place.
The house in front of him is the New York Sanctum.
This is one of the three-time and space points that have been created around the world.
Many masters on the North American continent are unaware of the existence of the Sanctum.
'Will you stop avoiding me this time?'
Luke's eyes flashed as he thought to himself.
A month after his arrival in this world, he tried to find the New York Sanctum.
At that time, the plug-in wasn't activated yet, and when he learned that he was in a Marvel set, he was filled with a sense of insecurity.
As a traveler, in a sense, a space-time stowaway.
Luke took the risk of approaching a secret Sanctum in New York's Greenwich Village.
Thinking that he might be gifted, Sorcerer Supreme might take him in and accept him as a disciple.
From then on, the life path of becoming a legendary master begins.
Unfortunately, Luke went to Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village for more than a month without finding the house with the number 177A.
Obviously, the Sorcerer Supreme didn't take a fancy to him.
This cruel fact also depressed Luke for quite a while.
New York Sanctum is a magical building, and its location wouldn't change.
But whether he could find it or not depended on fate.
For example, the future of Doctor Strange.
After just a quick trip to Kathmandu, he was brought to the peak of his life by Mordo, a disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme, who brought him to Karma Taj.

Luke insisted on going to Bleecker Street every day to sign in like clockwork, but he got nothing.
His abnormal behavior even made Rogers and Bucky suspicious.
His best friends thought he had ended his life as a single dog behind their backs and fell into the warm and charming embrace of a young girl.
"The Ancient One has been waiting inside. "
The moment Luke got out of the car, the closed doors of the New York Sanctum suddenly opened.
Space appeared like a folded and interlaced mirror, presenting a mysterious and complex scene of wonder.
A dark-skinned, vintage-robed master came out with a placid smile.
"Major General Sir, please come in. "
He was quite friendly and invited with a slight bow.
Luke gently nodded his head without the slightest hesitation and stepped directly into the door.
After the last long talk with the Sorcerer Supreme, the two reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation.
The only thing lacking was probably Kang the Conqueror, who hadn't emerged yet.
"Major General Sir, I hope you don't mind. The Ancient One said she didn't want outsiders to enter the Sanctum. "
Luke stood at the door and looked along the black master's line of sight.
The young driver who wanted to keep up with him seemed to be caught in a cycle of time.
He kept repeating the actions of closing the door and stepping on the steps.
It was as if someone had intercepted a period and plunged him into it.
"I understand. "
Luke glanced away; the Sorcerer Supreme was a true master at playing with time.
The scene presented to the young driver was much more complicated than a temporal suspension.
The facts that have occurred are intercepted and extracted from the stream of time.
As long as you are caught within it, you can't get out.
As long as you were below the level of the Allfather, you might not even notice it.

Luke wasn't surprised.
The first Sorcerer Supreme, Agamotto, held the Time Stone for a long time and sealed it in a special vessel, applying countless spells for protection and acting as a magic weapon.
Since then, the Ancient One, who had taken over the position, had the 'Eye of Agamotto' and often played around with it.
Manipulating time branches and conducting temporal suspension were trivial to her.
'Even if Sorcerer Supreme has the Mirror Dimension, dealing with my speed and anti-magic substitute, it wouldn't be easy. '
Luke entered the main door while playfully and silently and surveyed the interior layout of the Sanctum.
On the first floor were a living room and library.
Several masters dressed in vintage robes, holding several heavy books, hurried past.
They either look down and contemplate or frown.
Thud!
A loud noise.
A few gray-headed and strong figures walked out.
Each was clad in armor and carried heavy weapons such as axes and shackles.
"Is this also a ... master?"
Luke asked, tilting his head sideways.
"Recently, the hell dimension hasn't been very peaceful. They are all members of the Order of the Holy Knights, specializing in the destruction of inferior demons that have infiltrated the main universe. "
The black master explained.
"Karma Taj has a long-standing relationship with both secular hermitages and religious institutions. "
Luke showed a look of understanding.
To put it more bluntly, they treat the Knights and the Church as tools.
He followed the black masters up to the second floor, the living area with many guest rooms.
It is worth mentioning that the walls are covered with gateway windows to the rest of the world.
They show different scenes such as dense forests, mountains, and the sea, and there was also a brightly lit rotating mechanism next to them.
Continuing on.
The third floor is the most important area of the Sanctum.
It is used for placing and arranging magical items and meditation.
Luke followed the black master and entered.
It was reasonable to say that he, an outsider, wasn't qualified to step in.
It's just that the Ancient One always didn't care about the small things, a stark contrast to the old-fashioned, strict Agamotto.
Along the way, Luke saw many magic weapons that he thought were familiar.
The most conspicuous thing is the Cloak of Levitation displayed in the glass cabinet.
Doctor Strange's signature gear!
"They are all here waiting for their preordained master. "
The Ancient One, dressed in a new look, wearing white robes, was standing in a circular window.
"Then it looks like I'm not the one they're waiting for. "
Luke said with some regret.
He also wanted to go along with some magic items.
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s 'Invasion' team only had Superman and Captain America right now.
Perhaps Howard can be made into a Master of the Mystic Arts and upgrade his path to imitate the unborn Doctor Doom, who was directly involved in the practice of science and magic.
Master of the Mystic Arts!
Output + meat shield!
Helpful for attracting hateful attention!
"Major General, shouldn't you be in the front line when the war between Atlantis and the land world is about to start?"
The Ancient One smiled faintly.
"As you can see, the New York Sanctum is of little help. The hell dimension is invading, and we must focus on maintaining the temporal nodes. "
Luke shook his head; it never occurred to him that he should ask the Sorcerer Supreme to step in, to stop the crisis.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.

Final Hour
Had you the chance, would you change yourself? The story tells of a boy, name withheld, who came into the world with what seemed like an invisible curse. Through this darkness, he found an escape - Empire. It was the first VRMMO, and his doctors convinced him to try it. This is the tale of a boy who was willing to throw everything that was left away. A victim of the world, a great adventurer, or... something beyond even that?*Warning: This fiction contains BORDERLINE mature themes. Okay, maybe VERY mature themes. But only SOMETIMES.**Note: Don't give me 5 star ratings. I doubt you'd want to anyway, but ratings without any criticism don't help me improve, and thus destroy the purpose for which I write.
