Hidden Wife : Best Husband Chapter 427

UN Village,
Mrs. Park continued to be restless, worried about her youngest son. She was very surprised that Park Soo Hyun was at the bar.
Even though he should feel very happy because he got an answer from Soo Yin. Was that a way to vent his happiness? Then why was he with Jean?
"Oh my God, what happened to you?" Mrs. Park was so shocked to see Park Soo Hyun's face. Although there was no more dried blood sticking to it but the bruises were still very clearly visible on his face.
"I'm fine," said Park Soo Hyun casually. Then sat on the sofa because his body and head felt dizzy.
"Why are you like this? Tell me why were you with Jean instead of Soo Yin? Weren't you going to meet her?" Mrs. Park tried to find out of what really happened to her son and future daughter-in-law. There was no way they were fine if Park Soo Hyun got into the bar.
"Jean?" Park Soo Hyun muttered to himself for not remembering anything that happened. He only realized when he set foot in the UN Village.
"Never mind, don't talk about it. I'm going to my room first, Mom." Park Soo Hyun tried to get up but Mrs. Park instead pushed him back until he crashed into the sofa.
"Tell me what really happened?" Mrs. Park looked at her son with an intimidating look. Quickly wanted to know what really happened so as not to be more curious.
"Later, mom." Park Soo Hyun was reluctant to say of what happened last night. Especially about Soo Yin, her mother would be very disappointed if she heard about it.
"Tell me right now!" said Mrs. Park firmly and emphatically so that Park Soo Hyun would not argue again.
"What do you want to know?" Park Soo Hyun sighed heavily as if he didn't know what his mother was really asking.

"Tell me how is your relationship with Soo Yin? Didn't you two see each other last night?" asked Mrs. Park while sitting next to Park Soo Hyun.
"What kind of relationship?" Park Soo Hyun closed his eyes. Recalled the answer from Soo Yin that made his heart feel like it was being stabbed with thorns.
"Last night you said that you wanted to ask about Soo Yin's answer. Then did she accept your love?" Mrs. Park' face looked radiant and full of hope that her wish will come true.
Honestly, Park Soo Hyun didn't even have the heart to tell his mother.
"Hmmm," said Park Soo Hyun in a limp, dispirited voice.
"So did she accept you?" Mrs. Park looked very happy to hear that.
Park Soo Hyun opened his eyes and looked at his mother. There was a desire to lie for a while to make his mother happy. But he couldn't do that role.
Park Soo Hyun finally lowered his head and shook his head slowly.
"What do you mean? Did you actually get accepted or not?" Mrs. Park was getting more and more confused with his son. Earlier he said yes but now he shook his head.
"She rejected me, Mom," said Park Soo Hyun in a sad tone.
"You must be lying. There's no way Soo Yin would refuse my very handsome son," said Mrs. Park while chuckling.
"I'm serious, mom." Park Soo Hyun ventured to look at his mother to convince if he wasn't lying.
Mrs. Park's face had now changed drastically. From a happy face to a stiff face. She couldn't believe that Soo Yin had rejected her youngest son. There was no lack of anything from Park Soo Hyun because he was so perfect.
"If you meet her, please don't change your attitude towards her. Stay friendly and kind as usual. Maybe now she wants to focus on her studies first so she didn't accept me." Park Soo Hyun tried to say positive things in order to protect his mother's feelings. Just let him feel the pain by himself.

"Be patient, honey. It might be true what you said if Soo Yin had to focus on her studies." Even though Mrs. Park also felt sad but she wanted to give encouragement to her son.
"I'm going to my room first, Mom," said Park Soo Hyun as he walked with his staggered body.
=========================
It's been a few days since the night of the rejection. Today Soo Yin was starting to actively go back to work because she was not comfortable with other employees. Moreover, there was a problem between her and Park Soo Hyun.
Maybe now the man didn't accept it if she had too many days off.
The elevator just opened after reaching the 10th floor. Soo Yin stood frozen in place when she saw Park Soo Hyun was now in front of her.
It was awkward for a split second before Soo Yin lowered her gaze. Didn't want to look at Park Soo Hyun's two empty eyes.
"Good morning, sir," said Soo Yin, looking down.
"Good morning," Park Soo Hyun greeted back with a sour face. There was a feeling of anger in Park Soo Hyun's heart but he couldn't do it. As much as possible, he will act normal as if nothing happened between them.
Soo Yin stepped past Park Soo Hyun with a racing heart. Until Park Soo Hyun's hand almost wanted to hold her but he cancelled his intention.
"Soo Yin," Park Soo Hyun called.
Soo Yin stopped in her tracks without looking back because she was nervous.
"Since Dae Hyun is out of town, you should help me with my work. You can go to my room now," said Park Soo Hyun.
Many people had asked him to get a secretary, but Park Soo Hyun was not interested at all. All he always wanted was Soo Yin.
"Okay, Master," said Soo Yin briefly without denying it.
Yesterday Dae Hyun did go out of town because he had to finish all his work. Now the position was back to normal because Park Soo Hyun had recovered.

Memories of the Fall
This is a story about two sisters, Jun Arai and Jun Sana, and their friends, Juni, Ling and Shu who make their living as members of the Hunter Bureau, an organisation dedicated to dealing with the terrifying flora and fauna endemic to their home Great World. When they get dragged into a grand scheme to unpick the ancient secrets entombed within one its foremost forbidden zones in their world, the Yin Eclipse Mountains, they must all try to survive the dark machinations, eldritch undercurrents and the echoes of a terrible conflict trying to re-emerge into an unsuspecting cosmos that had rather hoped it was done with that kind of thing a few eras hence. So please come join Arai, Sana, Juni, Ling, Shu and the rest of my cast as they journey through strange lands, meet all kinds of unusual beings and unravel some of the power and glory of a land time tried very hard to forget. I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
