The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 133

When The Mysterious arrived at the battlefield, "what do you think he will do?" Suddenly asked the empress.
Ella glanced at her before opening her mouth, "hmm, I think— err, seeing that he already had some allies with him, I think it's better if he tried to expand his group by persuading those scattered participants. Then force their way to the northern part together, and reunite with the group of Hilion Gustav. Together with his White Leo Knights and those two experts from the Lupine family, they will have a bigger chance of breaking the enemy's defense and destroying the gate that is heavily guarded by demons, monsters, and undead," Ella's reply impressed the empress.
However, it was the obvious answer, because there was only one entrance. So everyone would probably gather in the northern part at the end.
Even the participants in the southern part were starting to force their way towards the eastern part.
Empress Elleanna smiled, "Fufu, as expected of my niece. That is indeed a good choice. I wonder if he did the same. Even Roman at the eastern part was having difficulty to advance because of the enemy's number. He too is surrounded by allies by now. Well, Roman is truly a charismatic youth that everyone automatically gathered around him. He's strong in both range and melee and has high stamina. I wonder if that Mysterious person can handle the monsters in melee as well. He most of the time used range attacks."
"I think he is more of a defensive type."
"Defensive?" The empress was a little doubtful. After all, based on his previous fights, he seemed to be an agile type or more of an attacker. Like an assassin.
"Well, he can cancel an opponent's spell. I mean, the thing he used when he pro-protected me…"
"Fufu, I see. But… that skill will be useless in this kind of battle."
"Do-Do you mean because of the enemy's number?"
Ella was unaware that Yman's [Time Modifier] skill was unusable inside her world of painting.
"Mhm. But not only that. Those pagodas as well. It will be a headache for all of them. Fufu, let's see how he does his battle as I am as curious as well. Hopefully, he will join forces with the other experts."
Every audience was watching attentively at the ongoing battle. Excited for the outcome. Everyone was hoping for their favored participants to succeed.
The old noble who bet to 'The Mysterious' person was watching it in pure enjoyment only.
Right at this moment. Another person bet on 'The Mysterious'. Seeing him arrive at the battlefield as well, it gathered some favorable attention to him.
It's already commendable that they arrive in the last part. So eventually, some showed respect for him by betting on him. But no one expected him to win. His points were already left behind by others.
And if they based him on his latest fight, his capability wasn't that awe-inspiring, to be honest.

Unlike the domineering performance of Roman and the others, his performance from his latest fight was so lacking with dominance.
But right at this moment,
(DUGUDUGUDUGUDUG!!!) The ground trembled and everyone saw some demons, mutated beasts, and a group of undead sprinting towards the group of the newly arrived 'The Mysterious'.
They totaled 100+!
Some skeletons raised from the gravestone and rushed with the others. There was even a skeleton who mounted on the Mutated Boar.
Yet, that guy and his allies did not bother moving. Even that enthusiastic expert from the Lupine family is weirdly standing still.
A moment before the clash, everyone fell silent!
(RAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRR!)
Loud howls suddenly reverberated inside and outside the world in painting. The owner of these howls were the 10 creatures that suddenly appeared around the group.
From their mouths, flames were overflowing. A second later,
(WASSAAAAAAH!!!)
(FWOOOOSSSSH!!!)
(BOOOOOOOMMM!!!)
Spraying sounds which followed by explosions reached their ears.
In the distance of about 30 meters away from their mouths, each of them sprayed flames and incinerated all the monsters in front in an instance. Leaving only a few numbers in a daze.
The monsters never even have the time to cry as they were turned to ashes in a moment.
A few seconds later, blazing burn marks were visible on the grounds.
Everyone was silent, even the participants and the monsters who were supposed to be battling in the area not too far away from them. They were all wearing a face that wanted to question, 'what was that just now?!' But none of them could explain.
After a few seconds, (WOOSH!) A silent gust of wind made its way across the battlefield which is now enveloped by solemness. Taking away with it some of the smokes and mists.
In the next second, outside the painting, jarring voices of whispered slowly become louder. Some were asking what those black creatures were. While some failed to grasp what just happened.
"Look, those creatures, they look like Venomous Mouse!" Someone from the audience identified the image of the black creatures.
On the balcony of the palace, "don't tell me those are Venomous Mouse?!" The empress exclaimed. "In any case, why are they black and tall? How come there are ten of them and uniform in color? Plus, how come they are so powerful that even the demons turned to ashes in the instance?!" She fired many questions in one go.
But Ella and the Knight-Captain had no way to answer even one of those questions. Because they too have questions. 'What are those creatures?' Ella could sense that they were not the real Venomous Mouse, not even a Spirit Beast! But she believed that those creatures were the same as those two birds awhile ago.
"No, your Majesty, sorry for the intrusion. But the most important issue is, they almost wipe out the charging monsters of 100+ in total in just a second!" Even the Knight-Captain Borge Bergal beamed in surprise.

However, the empress's attention was taken by another thing. She noticed something on the monitor. Two-people rose in points after killing most of the charging enemies.
Her eyes widened. These two were also part of those suspects for killing the Demonic Beast!
A feeling of curiosity and excitement rose within her soul. Finally, she could eventually guess that one of them was responsible for those weird summoned creatures and the killing of the Demonic Beast!
Then she saw that person raise his hand higher. After waving it in front of him, those 10 Black Venomous Mouse creatures rushed forward towards the remaining enemies.
A glint was visible in the empress' eyes.
The battle wasn't finished yet. It's just started.
Looking ahead, Yman grinned. This kind of battlefield was unexpected to them. But it was the kind of field that excites him. Thanks to his mana source for having a unique Fire Element. These demons and undead that are supposed to be headache opponents could be dealt with easily.
A field that littered with countless monsters. Those countless monsters for him… were like countless attribute points!
He noticed the other participants were doing all they could in different ways they wanted. Especially experts. No one was bothered to cooperate with the others.
"Heh," a scoff escaped from his mouth as he was watching the battle in front of him.
His eyes landed on the weird Skeleton, it was wearing a tattered dark cloak. 'An Elder Skeleton.' His initial thought upon seeing it. He only read about it in some books before. Regardless of what he learned, this type of undead was hard to deal with.
The Elder Skeleton was waving his bony hands in the air. Some participants tried to attack it, but the attacks that were supposed to hit the Elder Skeleton were stopped by a thin layered transparent magical shield.
Narrowing his eyes, Yman noticed that the one who cast the shield wasn't the Elder Skeleton himself. He was protected by someone.
His eyes wandered on top of the wall. There, he saw some Spell Caster Skeleton together with archers. 'Looks like those guys are responsible for the Elder Skeleton's defense,' he said in his mind.
The wall was towering, but most experts could certainly jump on it. However, no one was blind enough to do it as long as those Skeleton Marksmen and Spell Casters were guarding it.
But not just that, in the sky, some bird-type mutated beasts also rained attacks on the participants below.
"Crimson!"
Cinder beside him called out. He understood what she wanted to tell.
"Mhm," he nodded.
"Hehe." Ember grinned. He was eager to rush in. He could not let those mouses shattered the last bit of his pride.
Each of them forced a dry laugh upon seeing those 10. To be honest, when they saw the countless charging monsters: Aegor, Taflas, and Tiafel wanted to run and hide. But when they noticed Crimson and Miss Cinder's confidence, they decided to stay.
The mouse is supposed to be gross. But those 10 looked cool. That even Ember and the others couldn't help to feel a chill from how domineering they look.
After he replied a nod to her, 3 [ Fire Dolls] materialized in front of him.
Same with the Venomous Mouse model, this time, the Hell Chaser bird model [Fire Dolls] also in black color. And their bodies were trailing with red-orange lines, forming like veins in their bodies. The same with Venomous Mouse, their eyes were blazing with fire also.
These models of [Fire Dolls], he called them as [Enhance Fire Dolls]!
Seeing the Hell Chaser bird model [Enhance Fire Dolls], without a second thought, Cinder hopped on top of one of them. Tiafel and Taflas also took one each.
They will be their aerial support.
The three immediately hovered up in the air.
After they left, Yman summoned another [Enhance Fire Dolls]. 6 Bat models appeared from thin air. Two of them hovered near Ember, and the other two were guarding Aegor.
These Bat-model [Enhance Fire Dolls] were to counter the Demons. Of course, each of these [Enhance Fire Dolls] held the mana and Holy Flame of Cinder.
Not just that, they were enhanced using the Black Miasma. Although their supplies were limited, their magical powers were as strong as a Real Path Expert.
Ember immediately rushed forward, he didn't want to lose again. He must surpass these Mouse models [Enhance Fire Dolls].
He activated his [Partial Transformation] Artefact. Then leaped to the group of undead ahead to shorten their distance rapidly.
Before he landed, he swung his massive right hand with razor-sharp claws.
It immediately pulverized their bone bodies without the chance to retaliate.
From his left, (GWAAAAARR!!) a demon roared and charged rapidly towards him. However, before it could reach him. (Woosh! Woosh!) Two [Fireballs] were shot towards it from the Bat-model [Enhance Fire Dolls].
It immediately turned to cinders.
"Gyahahaha!" Ember laughed heartily.
The same thing happened to Aegor.
After learning that all of the [Enhance Fire Dolls] was working fine, he also started to move.
From his back, a skeleton warrior made its way into him.
"Watch out!" From the palace, Ella subconsciously screamed.
However, it was futile, before even the sword reached him. The Skeleton Warrior's knees were shaking terribly.
Intimidation from a Higher Rank demon was shot on it. Yman slowly looked behind and tapped its head. With a glint in his eyes, "It's futile, heh," he said before crushing the head using his bare strength.
"Eh!?" Ella was surprised but she soon remembered that he has this High-level skill that usually only a Real Path Expert could achieve.
"What was that?!" Everyone was dumbfounded again.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
